I said it when I saw the first cinematic for this event. Everybody talking about Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. Nah. This some dark, Madoka Magica type jazz, overflowing with existential dread and tragedy.
It wasn't Kai'sa's voice that told Akali she's a dissapointment, it's her mother's voice in this AU, as she always tells Akali that she's a dissapointment. Akali has a really bad home life in star guardian, i believe this is established when Akali and Kai'sa are walking home from school when they first become friends but im unsure
Although Yasuo and Qiyana could work in some ways, Evelynn DEFINITELY WON'T be in the Star Guardian franchise. All of the base lore (canon in-game and not skin lore) star guardian/nemesis characters have very specific lore that makes them make sense with as to why they were chosen to be added to the star guardian skin line. Nilah is a legendary hero who defeats monsters left and right, soraka is a celestial who guides and helps people choose the right path, Kai'sa along with Taliyah is literally finding ways to prevent the void from corrupting the world, Fiddle is the living embodiment of fear and plays a major role as one of a big deal type of villain in LoL. Evelynn is a sexy demon who transforms their appearance to match the person/people they are trying to seduce. She is too innapropriate and has a REALLY LOW CHANCE of being in the star guardian franchise/skinline.

(there are also a lot of references to magical girl animes and usually magicla girl animes have a hot sexy mommy villain at some point. also the aesthetic of the star guardian and their shadow like the one shown in the new cinematic of akali's would fit her gameplay-wise.
I don't think Fiddle is still alive in a physical or spiritual sense, I think he only lives on as a memory in her head, it's not Fiddle corrupting her after all because the VN states that he stalks those who are close to falling, and we're seeing her darkest thoughts and fears here so of course the memory of fiddle would be here, and as for the similar markings on her dark half, well I think that's just the aesthetic for truly fallen Guardians unlike Rakan and Xayah who are more or less just corrupted and in the process of falling, and as for the checker board them, well it's pretty apparent that the Guardians are just being used like pieces on a board.

In the prologue of the Twin Stars story it is hinted that Akali's mother is mentally abusive to her saying she is a failure and such. I think that has always stuck with Akali and her mother is always the voice of insecurity in her head.

not really sure why wild rift got the 'main' star guardian story with xayah saving rakan .. this is really cool and i love to see it but the two love birds were the main focus, they should've finished that and then continute with this .. regardless really loving wild rift, best so far

I think killing demons in LoL is much like "killing" daemons in warhammer. Destroying its physical body simply banishes them to... somewhere, so that later they can heal and return
basicly same as wow stole from warhammer, killing a demon you banish it. over time it can re-enter your realm, however if you enter their realm and kill them in that realm they die. So basicly they got infinate lives that regenerates. sure some oddities here and there with some magic you can prolly downright kill them. but rare.
Doesn't Greek mythology work that way? Idk if I was just a thing in Percy Jackson or actual mythology, but in those books your killed a monster and they went back to reform in Tarterus (misspelled I'm sure).

I didn't even notice the passive effect on the ground after she ults her shadow. That's really cool. I didn't know that people needed to be told they were just friends. I mean, the "everything goes on" cinematic did make it feel like there might be something extra to that connection for a second, but everything else has pointed to just really close friends. Love all the easter eggs in this.
can you please explain more on the passive effect? I'm an old League fan in several other ways but playing the games so I'm a bit lost on this one and the significance it holds.

I think SG and K/DA are entirely different universes from each other. Like they still reference each of their personalities in their Runeterra counterparts but I think that's just it. In K/DA they all get along and are friends but in SG I don't think some of them are familiar with each other.
my only question is who exactly is the ramen guy. He says he was there with the first star guardians so how old is he? Also, I think Morgana is a mis-understood villain (I'm sticking this this headcannon) where it's not that she wants to corrupt star guardians to have them become minions, but she wants to find star guardians who have any sort of doubt in their heart and who fall to the dark side or without any help they overexert themselves and thus become beings like fiddlesticks. I'm still in the camp that the First Star is Kayle and Morgana is either the reverse side of Kayle or they had a duo partnership but Morgana began to have doubts but since she was too powerful to actually become corrupt fully, she just harnessed a dark power instead. I can see a story point where Kayle, being the First Light, became overzealous in her actions and enacting judgement on any she met thus causing a rift between Morgana and her. Since Kayle couldn't be everywhere at once, she sends out a call to action to different worlds for help and when they answer they take on her power, but Kayle's blessing is too strong and causes some star guardians to "burn out"(whether literally or figuratively). Morgana might see this and try to help either prevent this from getting worse by helping overwhelmed recruits on finding a different path but not a lot of guardians want that (thus Zoe and Syndra don't like Morgana that much) IDK, just thinking out loud.
I regret only coming back in Jan 2023 to play LoL and too late in finding out that 2022 had a star guardian event. Are there any resources that I can read/watch to catch up on the lore so far?
It’s very clear what’s going on. Akali accidentally heads into the person world and rejected her shadow. Clearly they are hinting at a persona 6 game release and league characters are gonna be in it.
well my theory is that maybe harps familiar when it was set free was actually the last of harps humanity and now there is only fiddlesticks a demented monster that prays on fears and has become a freddy kruger like creature
I'm pretty sure Fiddle is just dead in the story, remember they said in the VN that he stalks Guardians close to falling and not that he causes it, he was one of her biggest fears so of course he would appear when she was drowning in her darkest thoughts, as for the Fiddle like face on her fallen form, that might just be the aesthetic for fallen Guardians since Fiddle was the first truly fallen Guardian that we see, I wouldn't count Rakan because he was being corrupted rather than being a fallen.
I didn't even know there was a second cinematic and I read all the story of the event as it went. It was kinda bugged in my server tho, maybe it was on the front page of the game and my game didn't show it.
I'ma be honest I don't care about Kaisa or Akali, I want to see more of xayah and rakan thier story is 1000% better imo also I main rakan soooooooo yeah :3

Bruh in the Riot Games Tiktok, they teased the KDA return around August. That's why there are a LOT of KDA hints lately. Even in the Wild Rift Star Guardian stories.

plot twist: its all part of riots semi realistic universe where the kda group exists on actual earth and kda was just a cover up for all of the star guardians (or possibly a foreshadowing of what they do after being star guardians) and also valorant plays in the same universe because why not and then the city is named valoran city because of the title of the continent in league that also exists in that universe. its all coming together.
This story is much more interesting than the one on wild rift I get why the couldn't do it as wild rift doesn't have all the characters in game but it sucks knowing we don't get all of the star gaurdian lore only xayah saving rakan. Will say the mini rpg we had on wild rift was cool though.

I think why Wild Rift got the main story, is because they really want to entice a lot of people to join.
The only real lore is in the comics though, which you can find online to get practically the same experience

I have a theory that the first star guardian team is Morgana, Zoe, Fiddlesticks/Harp, Janna and Gwen
It said in the story that Anshan was there too, but most of that team already fell
its gwen, zoe, harp, akshan, syndra and 'others'
The First team was Syndra, Akshan, Gwen, Zoe and Harp.

I don't think that makes sense and feels really wrong. To start off, Ahri is far more Ancient than a vast majority of the stat guardian members, making it that Kai'sa and Akali are literal babies compared to her; plus they don't even have enough bonds, relation, or major interactions introduced other than their first encounter in the fight against Zoe. Lastly, I don't think Evelynn would be cut out as a star guardian or nemesis? All of the base lore (canon in-game and not skin lore) star guardian/nemesis characters have very specific lore that makes them make sense with as to why they were chosen to be added to the star guardian skin line. Nilah is a legendary hero who defeats monsters left and right, soraka is a celestial who guides and helps people choose the right path, Kai'sa along with Taliyah is literally finding ways to prevent the void from corrupting the world, Fiddle is the living embodiment of fear and plays a major role as one of a big deal type of villain in LoL. Evelynn is a sexy demon who transforms their appearance to match the person/people they are trying to seduce. She is too innapropriate and has a REALLY LOW CHANCE of being in the star guardian franchise/skinline.
I think SG and K/DA are entirely different universes from each other. Like they still reference each of their personalities in their Runeterra counterparts but I think that's just it. In K/DA they all get along and are friends but in SG I don't think some of them are familiar with each other.
my only question is who exactly is the ramen guy. He says he was there with the first star guardians so how old is he?
Also, I think Morgana is a mis-understood villain (I'm sticking this this headcannon) where it's not that she wants to corrupt star guardians to have them become minions, but she wants to find star guardians who have any sort of doubt in their heart and who fall to the dark side or without any help they overexert themselves and thus become beings like fiddlesticks. I'm still in the camp that the First Star is Kayle and Morgana is either the reverse side of Kayle or they had a duo partnership but Morgana began to have doubts but since she was too powerful to actually become corrupt fully, she just harnessed a dark power instead.
I can see a story point where Kayle, being the First Light, became overzealous in her actions and enacting judgement on any she met thus causing a rift between Morgana and her. Since Kayle couldn't be everywhere at once, she sends out a call to action to different worlds for help and when they answer they take on her power, but Kayle's blessing is too strong and causes some star guardians to "burn out"(whether literally or figuratively). Morgana might see this and try to help either prevent this from getting worse by helping overwhelmed recruits on finding a different path but not a lot of guardians want that (thus Zoe and Syndra don't like Morgana that much)

It’s very clear what’s going on. Akali accidentally heads into the person world and rejected her shadow. Clearly they are hinting at a persona 6 game release and league characters are gonna be in it.

well my theory is that maybe harps familiar when it was set free was actually the last of harps humanity and now there is only fiddlesticks a demented monster that prays on fears and has become a freddy kruger like creature
Wish Fiddlesticks had a bit more of a role than sacrificial bad guy to sow seeds of drama in the future
I'm pretty sure Fiddle is just dead in the story, remember they said in the VN that he stalks Guardians close to falling and not that he causes it, he was one of her biggest fears so of course he would appear when she was drowning in her darkest thoughts, as for the Fiddle like face on her fallen form, that might just be the aesthetic for fallen Guardians since Fiddle was the first truly fallen Guardian that we see, I wouldn't count Rakan because he was being corrupted rather than being a fallen.

This story is much more interesting than the one on wild rift I get why the couldn't do it as wild rift doesn't have all the characters in game but it sucks knowing we don't get all of the star gaurdian lore only xayah saving rakan. Will say the mini rpg we had on wild rift was cool though.
