Thank you so much Sarah for taking the time to take us along with your making of a new dress. It turned out incredibly. Perhaps at some stage you could go over in a bit more detail, how you put in the pockets as I have never put inside pockets on anything as they have always looked as if they would be far too difficult 🤨. I realise that you put pockets in most things that you make & I love pockets as well, but have never been confident enough to try them. Once again, a lovely new dress Sarah & thanks for the giving of your time, cheers 😊❤️💕👏🥰😍🤗
Hi Joan. Thanks for watching. I think I may have shown in more detail how I put my pockets in on another sew along. But I will show it again on my next one. 😊
Hi and thanks for watching. Thanks for the compliment. I make plenty of mistakes but just try not to worry about them. I learn from each dress I make 😊
What a lovely video! Thanks for taking us along as you sew your beautiful dress. I learned how to piece together bias binding 😊 I do have to say I don’t think I’ve ever been as calm as you portray on your video while sewing - I find it a bit stressful at times!
Thanks so much for watching. Glad you got something out of it too. I probably am quite calm but I do make similar dresses over and over so they are no longer too challenging for me 😊
Hi and thanks for watching. Practice and learning from my mistakes has really helped me. I’ve only been sewing a few years and I tend to sew a similar dress multiple times 😊
Thanks Sarah for another lovely sew along. The material is really lovely. I like how you adjust the pattern to suit your body shape and encourage people to have a go. I will need to have a go at dressmaking again at some point. I'm not very tall and it would be good to have clothes custom made for my shape. I also have narrow shoulders too. Thanks again Sarah , take care Xx
Hi Frances. Thanks for watching. Shop bought clothes never fitted me well. Despite being curvy it’s funny the areas where I’m smaller. If I don’t adjust, the dress is not so flattering. It’s all a bit of trial and error but I enjoy the process even if it’s not perfect 😊
Your dress is gorgeous! In fact you’ve inspired me to actually use my new sewing machine. The Indigo dress is right up my street too. Thank you for a lovely podcast showing the process.
Hi Geraldine. Thanks for watching and your lovely comment. Definitely get your sewing machine out and give the Indigo a try. To be honest I don’t follow her instructions as she adds interfacing and facings which I don’t like to use. I try and find easier ways of doing things 😊
Your dress is lovely! It looks like it will be comfortable to wear. Isn't the sunshine wonderful. Here where I live, there hasn't been much sun so far this winter.
Sarah your dress looks absolutely beautiful on you. The colours are just gorgeous. I love your sewalongs and so appreciate you taking the time to share them with us. How could you not have a wonderful day wearing such a beautiful handmade dress xx
Thank you for sharing, I do enjoy watching your process, it's inspiring me to get out a sewing project I started a year ago and try to finish it up. I loved the fabric you used, the dress turned out beautiful. I'm a little jealous that you have grass - we are still buried in snow here in New England.
Hi Cheryl. Thanks for watching. We rarely get snow where I live. Stay safe. Definitely get your sewing machine out. My sewing equipment lives in cupboards, so when I sew I like to get the job completed. I have to dedicate a day to do it though 😊
Wow Sarah! I thoroughly enjoyed watching your Sew Along from start to finish ... I learnt so much! The fabric you chose is very pretty 😍 I do hope you continue to do these ... Maybe once a month or every two months, etc ... Would love to see you use the leftover pieces to do something patchwork or quilting, etc ❤ Susannah
Hi Suzannah. Thanks so much for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Hope to do more sew alongs in the future. My dream is to make a quilt, but I’ve never done that before 😊
The dress looks lovely on you Sarah - you did an awesome job! I loved the idea of doing bias around the neckline in the place of facing, it looked really neat. I might have to try that!
Thanks Sarah really helpful, I would have never noticed the faults you pointed out on your checked dress which also looks great. I think I am too critical of my attempts but might just get up the courage to tackle the Indigo pattern ❤
I love your Gingham dress...if the shoulders bother you take a little dart in on each shoulder running from back to front...quick and easy fix, I think I have the pattern so must find it and make a dress...you've inspired me 😊
Hi Sue. Thanks for watching. I think the arms are in the wrong way round. I’ll probably take them out and re insert them. Thanks for your advice though. Give the indigo a go. I don’t follow a her instructions though 😊
Your dress is so pretty, Sarah! I love the fabric. I really enjoyed watching your process. I’ve never seen that gadget you used to make the bias binding-makes quick work of it. Thanks for sharing! 🥰
A perfect bright sewing day and your dress is gorgeous. I love the fabric and I can see you now choosing some yarn to match and making a cardigan. Sewing implements make it much simpler now and I can remember my mum pinning material together and also tacking it before sewing. Thank you for taking us along Sarah 😊
Hello Sarah - your dress turned out so lovely ❤ and looks beautiful on you. The colors suit you so well. It was wonderful to spend time with you and see your process, as well as the gorgeous sunshine. Wishing you a peaceful and relaxing weekend 💜🌈☀️
Hi Sarah, I enjoyed watching the sew along the dress and fabric are beautiful the colours suit you, can't wait for the next one😊, and looking forward to Fridays vlog, have a great weekend 🤗
I love this sew along , i love dresses and I only wear Them and skirts, your dress is beautiful, that fabric is so pretty you were right with the cut of fabric on the shoulders 👍🏻 I love your sew along videos with dresses so well done 👏🏼
Hi Sarah, thank you so much for sharing, I really enjoyed watching you make your dress , it's gorgeous love the colours, you look so lovely in the dress! You have inspired me yet again I have fabric and pattern waiting in the queue after finishing wips that are also waiting in the queue 😁 😂😂 thanks again xx
Yes I think you are right. I’ve started cutting out the sleeves separately rather than on folded fabric as I would end up with two sleeves the same, rather than a left and right. Might have to remove and re insert 😊
beautiful sewing skills please kindly film how to rethread the serger overlock sewing machine by cutting the threads at the top and tying the new threads together at the top of the serger sewing machine to make rethreading it fast and easy please ok ?thank you very much 😊
Hi and thanks for watching. You seem to know how to thread the overlocker. Each machine is a bit different and it’s quite hard to get the camera into that small space. I am not doing a tutorial but just bringing you along with me as I sew. 😊
I love watching your sew-a-longs Sarah. The fabric is gorgeous and the finished dress is lovely, it looks great on you. 😊
Hi Margaret. Thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. I’m really pleased with my finished dress too 😊
Lovely dress and so enjoyable to watch you make it! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Shelly. Thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Love this sew-a-long, and what a handy little gadget for making your own bias tape! That dress is so lovely!
Hi Lisa. Thanks for watching. That’s probably the first time I managed to get the bias tape tool to work! 😊
Hi Sarah. Congratulations on making a lovely dress. The material is beautiful and it really suits you. Thanks for sharing. x
Hi Pamela. Thanks for watching. I’m really pleased with the finished dress 😊
Beautiful dress, gorgeous fabric & it really suits you 👍 I enjoyed your sew along ….thank you 😊 xx
Hi and thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. I’m really happy with the finished dress 😊
I’ve seen my whole life and never seen the fabric weights. Genius! I need to make myself some.
This was so fun to watch. Thank you for sharing with us. The dress looks wonderful ❤
Hi Dawn. Thanks for your lovely comments. I’m really pleased with the finished dress 😊

Such a lovely dress, the fabric is gorgeous ❤
Hi Paula. Thanks for watching. So happy with the finished dress 😊
The dress is beautiful, you’re very clever. 👏🦘
Hi and thanks for watching. Thanks for the compliment. I make plenty of mistakes but just try not to worry about them. I learn from each dress I make 😊
Love the fabric you selected! Nice job making it fit you like you want.
Hi Evelyn. Thanks for watching. To make a dress that fits is the ultimate goal. It doesn’t always work for me 😊
What a lovely video! Thanks for taking us along as you sew your beautiful dress. I learned how to piece together bias binding 😊

Hard work has paid off it suits you nice material choice and a nice fit as well done 👍
Hi Mary. Thanks for watching and your lovely compliments 😊
You make it lok so easy that it has encouraged me to make something

a matching hair scrunchie would be lovely
Thanks for watching. Nice idea about the hair scrunchie, but I don’t wear them 😊
Your dress is lovely! It looks like it will be comfortable to wear. Isn't the sunshine wonderful. Here where I live, there hasn't been much sun so far this winter.
Hi Jane. Thanks so much for watching. Yes it was nice to have a rare bit of sunshine. I’m so pleased with the dress. Comfort is very important to me 😊

Hi Carol. Thanks for watching. Hope it gave you the push you need to just have a go. Use some cheap fabric first. Good luck 🤞

Lovely dress the fabric is beautiful x😊
Hi Lizzy. Thanks for watching. Yes I love the fabric too 😊
❤
Thanks for watching 😊
The dress looks great. Y
I may be very wrong, but you might have put your left sleeve in the right armhole and vice versa. It’s easily done with Gingham as it’s reversible. Xx
Yes I think you are right. I’ve started cutting out the sleeves separately rather than on folded fabric as I would end up with two sleeves the same, rather than a left and right. Might have to remove and re insert 😊

Very lovely dress. You make it look so easy. However I know it is not.
Hi Mel. It definitely gets easier, especially as I tend to make the same style over and over 😊
