    I miss those days when I used to play basic carnatic flute. I don't recollect what scale I used to play. I want to get back at it thanks to your videos. I am looking to purchase them online here in US. May I please know your flute scale you are playing with? Thanks a lot for your videos and online tutorials. Also I forget the N2 and N3 fingering differences :) If you have any videos of that, it would be great to share.

    i am practicing 7 swaras.
    the flute is new with 8 holes, and i am practicing as instructed by you sir.
    but i am not getting MA swara well, rest all are working really well.
    Also i wanted to ask all the holes are in a single line unlike yours in the video sir.
    the sound which comes on MA swara is very odd. please help me on this.

    Sir, Thank you for the explanation. I had planned to learn carnatic flute and have bought a flute which they told me to. It is 2and half shruti or c sharp. But could not go to the class at all due to family issues. Now I saw your class and am learning but is my flute same as scale 4 note. Kindly confirm.🙏

    Hello, when you play 'Ni' is it supposed to sound as koman ni (flat 7th) ? Is it something specific to Carnatic ? If so, how do we play a natural scale in this flute ? Or should I just play it from Pa to Pa' for a natural scale ?

      If you half close the 3rd hole you get teevra ni i.e., 2.5 holes

    I have a question. My aunt bought me a bamboo flute for Christmas and it requires the same fingerings as yours, but there is an extra hole that comes right after the mouth hole. Other than that there are still six finger holes. But the flute doesn't play if I don't cover that extra hole, and it plays normally with it covered. It's quite a stretch for my fingers, and it makes me unable to place my fingers correctly on the other six holes.

    Excellent teaching Sriharsha. Just one suggestion, the volume of your commentary decreases when you turn back towards the chart. So perhaps a little clip on mic could avoid this
