      That's an "exaggeration"
"THEY" (Both) put ICE to shame, but otherwise, it's personal choice as much as "VW vs Toyota" was.
      .
(I'm sure I could compare specs and make an argument for either, and just BTW, come back when BYD has ZERO ICE/ Hybrids)

The US Gov't is controlled by a small group of individuals interested in trying control and coerce the rest of the world. The Chinese want to sell you stuff. In order for them to do that, you have to be able to ship the stuff, so they invest in transportation projects to facilitate the movement of raw materials as well as finished goods. The US Gov't blows up pipelines to prevent their 'allies' from having access to inexpensive energy. Gee, I wonder which approach works better in the long run?

    • @rogerstarkey5390

      You need
      A One Party System
      or
An Election Term of up to 10 Years
      and/ or
      A Bipartisan agreement
      Which means you need
A system not corrupted by the ability to "Lobby" which leads to indecision, changes over time and rarely the best option.
      .
Oh... AND Politicians who either have a degree of technical knowledge, or the intelligence to identify and trust honest experts and engineers.
      etc
      .
      In summary
      USA is SCREWED.

I rode the Shanghai mag-lev train back in 2019-it was almost frighteningly fast-especially when my train passed the one going in the opposite direction. 430 KPH= 232 KTS-faster than my plane or any of my buddie's planes. Another thing I heard is that high speed rail is more convenient for shorter distances than airliners, so China has been discontinuing some jet routes. As to electric cars-no thanks-not interested-no matter who makes them. I do like the cute Chinese girls hanging out in the car displays though...😍

    • @timothychung4811

Two factors. The sheer amount of population would literally bog down air routes for international flights as airspace is limited.
The second is that there wouldn't be enough planes to cater to the population. The train covers the population, but it also clears airspace for international flights that are only going to grow.

Tariffs on Chinese EVs by the west are giving Chinese cars free advertising throughout the whole world! "These Chinese cars are so good, it's scaring the shit out of the Americans! Buy now!". All over the world, countless millions if not billions will embrace these EVs and hybrids and drop their legacy-branded vehicles.

I disagree, the planning and development is pushed from below, and if taken on, the central government will drive the project forward. This planning and implementation ensures a project taken aboard by the government, no matter the timeframe, will achieve it. The major issue with Western governments is that they only govern, and therefore plan, in 4 year cycles, which really means 2 year cycles as the other 2 years is tied up in re-election work!!! A joke really
