- It's actually funny I didn't even notice until after I went through the trouble of converting the episode to throw in the corner like normal that you can clearly see it in the laptop that's in that chair. So... yeah, I didn't do anything really to this one. Thanks again to all the show producers and the event organizers, let's do this again next time.
I think it's really unfortunate that the news of Twilight's promotion broke before the episode aired. That would have had much greater impact.

rose deleca: Hasbro set up a display at a toy convention in Europe and the designers requested images of MLP characters. Word is that someone accidentally included an image of Alicorn Twilight and they put it up. An attendee took a picture and sent it to EQD for the whole world to see. Oops.

I was still in elementary when this episode aired, so I never got spoiled for Alicorn Twilight. Kid me was super hyped and so damn excited to talk about it with my friends the next day.

I legitimately love the Celestia in the back reacting so joyously when Celestia's ballad started. I keep re-watching that part just for her reaction.
There’s actually a sad story behind that. Nicole Oliver’s FIL passed away just before she was scheduled to record the song. However she said, ‘The show must go on.’ So, she dug deep and pulled herself together to get it done. If she sounds a little emotional, now you know why.

It feels like the show trolled them into thinking Twilight died.
It's crazy to think of how controversial this episode was back when it came out, and even crazier to think this was made under the possibility that it could be the series finale. In hindsight, it's a really nice and moving episode. if I have any "criticism" of it, though, is with a bit of an oversight in the music: this is called "Magical Mystery Cure", and it's a shame Daniel Ingram didn't write any songs as a homage to the Beatles. If anything, "Ive Got to Find a Way" sounds a bit like _Coldplay_ of all things. Well, maybe the title of the episode was decided after the songs were written, and it still has some of the best songs in the show. Still, a bit of a shame.

@@004kim I recall people saying that the episode was very rushed, with the songs taking the space of actual story development, and that Twilight's achievement in this episode doesn't look outstanding enough to be a reason for her to become a princess. Also there was this idea that this was the show "selling out" or something. But I think people were mostly not ready for such a big change in the series, and I think there was fear that the show could lose some of its "purity" with Twilight no longer being an apprentice.

I actually polled everyone there at the beginning of the event to see if a reaction video would be prudent. It's true some of them had seen the episode already, but somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of the attendees had not seen the episode.
When the townspeople cheer "PINKIE!" It gets me hyped every time. I love that part!
I love watching these videos because they remind me that I am not alone as a brony.

When twily was blasted by the 5 lasers, I swear I heard a guy say in a tf2 fashion, "that sniper's a spy!!!"
That won't be necessary, seeing that the DVD/Blu-ray release is actually a couple of days away, which means they won't necessarily need to go to a theater, seeing that the movie is now no longer in theaters for that reason, but that's a great idea in a way! :P

I dig the Spanish dub of this episode, because there’s no Bronies events in NYC like East Harlem and the South Bronx as well as Bushwick in Brooklyn where they used to have Brony events to attend where they were showing Spanish dubs of the series. That also includes Puerto Rico where they had Brony events in places like San Juan where the Spanish dub of MLP was shown there.
I paused the video, and counted 46 in one instance. Remember that some people walk in and out, though, so that may not be exact. Still, about 50 bronies and pegasisters.

I think it's because there were less funny moments in this one than Wedding and Empire episodes, due to having to compress all the awesomeness into only one part.

It's actually a little closer to 100, the camera wasn't able to capture the whole audience area, people who didn't want to be recorded sat off to the left of the frame. Plus some of the artists who had tables at the event (off to the right in the back), didn't watch the ep, plus some of the people who'd seen it stayed with the artists. Still though, not as many as the S2 Finale, kind of a shame.

That may be a factor of it, but I've seen plenty of solo reaction videos, and most of them seemed to like it. Personally, I think the whole division of the fandom over this episode is exaggerated a bit. From my perspective the opinion fandom-wide is still mostly in the episode's favour, but the portion who don't like it are a VERY vocal portion.

Sorry to break it to you, but it's not 50, it's 15-20. That's actually somewhat par for the course. S1 had 16, S2 had 15, and S3 had 12 despite being a half season, although most of those are the finale. I hope it's closer to 20 though, since there's another musical episode that'll mean another large concentration of songs in one ep.
