I agree completely about Permatex, regardless of the comments from your mechanic. I'm sure he is just envious. :-) I think it is good that you video a variety of projects. Your interests are not all about Fords and bikes after all. Cheers.
Like the few other youtube creators I subscribe to, for me it's about spending some relaxing time watching people who care about what they do and always pick up tips and tricks along the way. From a boiler maker, to an automotive mechanic, to an antique furniture restorer, there's always stuff to learn from all these masters. For me, it's not any one specific project you're working on, I think that could actually get a little boring. I like that you work on 87 different projects at the same time. It gives you variety and probably helps to prevent burn-out on any one project and it makes for viewer variety too. And I know from experience that, between missing parts, manufacturing parts or waiting for mail-order parts or the occasional illness, there are a million reasons why it isn't always possible to stay on one project from start to finish. Not to mention, that it can become so intense that sometimes you just need to step back for a little while and chill. Then come back to the original project with new eyes and renewed energy. So keep it up Peter, all your videos are appreciated.
Thanks Ellesmere, your points are true to the reasons I approach several projects. Pretty much every project turns out to be far more work than initially anticipated - and I'm careful to cover most things angles I begin one, it's just the nature of the beast... that being said, it makes the rewards greater in the end. Sometimes, the reasons are boredom related, so a change is as good as a holiday, others may be financially reasons or just being plain over what I'm doing... either way, it's nice to return to each one with new energy - as you stated. Thanks so much for your support. Cheers
Like so many have already said, your uploads are fantastic. Keep posting what you want to post. In my opinion, that's the only way you'll continue to enjoy this social media platform. On a personal note, I enjoy the variety you offer, and in 99% of the cases, your videos are related to the hobby; there's a lot of knowledge transfer between the bike and car builds (and additionally, between Fords, MG's, Plymouths; heck I liked watching your electrical tech regarding the sound systems too!) Keep up the great work Peter! p.s. you've got to be doing something well...you've surpased the 10K sub mark. Congrats! -Andrew
I was getting worried that you didn’t have a cup of tea.But I see at around the 28 minute mark you put one to the side haha. Beautiful work again Peter. I started watching you because I did a search a long time ago now for xc‘s on here. But I still enjoy watching all your videos. Hate to sound like a suck, but I watch a few channels but to be honest your is by far my favourite. Keep up the awesome work.
Another great video, I don't understand why you are losing patrons. I learn something from each of your videos, thank you. Tell Dave that's a nice Tash, worth a thumbs up on it's own :-)
I'm sure Dave will see the comment... I don't think his wife and daughter like it though. As for Patrons, they're legends so want to do what I can to keep them happy with the videos. Cheers
A word of warning! My wife’s MGB body was declared good by several knowledgeable chaps but when she had a minor prang the truth was revealed. It was a superb bodge from start to finish and must have taken as long as a correct repair. New sills were fitted over rusty ones etc. etc. We live and learn, n’est ce pas!?
You should have a thin metal shim in that back plate in the bell housing connected to the gearbox, they disintegrate over time so wouldn't have been there when you pulled it but does need replacing
Looking good Mr Anderson, but will you please get back on with the CB 750, as I wish to see your fine moustache blowing in the wind as you ride down the road .
Thanks Peter, just a quick question, at about 17 mins you install the carbie spacers and said, the longer the runner, gives an increase in the torque. Is there a simple and quick explanation for this. Interesting . And love the sound of the rain on the roof, just after.
Thanks for uploading this latest video, the MG's engine looks amazing, & will look even better once installed. You mentioned the body was better than you had thought in previous videos, will you be doing any body work on the MG soon? Perhaps this will wait til after the XC is done.
Yes, I've ordered a LH rear quarter panel, which will be hung on the garage wall until I get around to fitting it. I need to get some more done on the XC in the meantime. Cheers
I don't know... if I get some time and Dave's not too busy either side of Christmas, then I will film it. Dave has a way of being pretty quick when he works, so I might plan to drop in and swing some spanners and find it all done. He did all the work on the Starlet at lightening pace!!
No need to say sorry for entertaining us mate. Its just like hanging around in a mates garage. Doesn't matter what he's working on.. it's his bloody garage and if you don't like ...go home. Merry Christmas mate. Chris Cobb
The patreons leaving might be from just the new fees they are applying, and just an ebb and flow situation maybe. And there's nothing wrong with permatex...... Cheers
Thanks Tex, Yes I've noticed the fees are huge... Big Clive has a different setup where donations can be made directly to him... he calls it something like 'a dollar for coffee and a biscuit' perhaps I should re-think what I've been doing. Cheers
Apparently with paypal you can donate without fees if it's marked as "family and friends" , but have to see if patreon is going ahead with the new fees. Cheers.
Thanks, yes I may need to consider an alternative - just play it by ear I suppose. The Patreon thing has really helped with parts and supplies, so the prospect of losing it is going to hurt. Cheers
Thanks Leif and thanks also for your private message. I wrote a reply to Tex's message above... Patreons fees are nuts, I will look into a different method. Cheers
Have a look at Liberapay (liberapay.com/). It seems aimed at recurring donations, the fees are very reasonable and, best of all, it truly handles donations as donations! This means that folks in Europe doesn't have to pay VAT. This is actually a big difference compared to Patreon which handles donations as sales, causing VAT to be added on top of the donations (25% in my case). Anyway, I suggest that you keep Patreon and add alternate methods.
Loved the old blowing a seal gag...been chuckling at that one for years...
All your posts are very welcome Peter as I learn something new every time. 👍

Keep on doing what you want to do - that's what makes it inspiring! Excellent as usual. Thank you for letting me in to your workshop :-)

You don't sound like a suck at all... that is the type of comment that keeps my enthusiasm up. Thanks for the great comment. Cheers
Great video.
Those patrons who are leaving is their loss.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks mate, although the patrons are a bit of a life line for me, I'm forever appreciative for them. Cheers

Hi Peter, could you start one of your V8s up, for a quick listen, at the start of the next instalment , getting withdrawal symptoms ;-)
Looking good Mr Anderson, but will you please get back on with the CB 750, as I wish to see your fine moustache blowing in the wind as you ride down the road .
Very nice job how much of this mg engine would relate to wolseley 1500.? Could you fit dual carby and manifold to wolseley 1500 engine?
looks like those rear springs could do with a reset too.
Yes they probably do... poor car has been a little neglected, so will need to spare it some additional attention. Cheers
you guys say "split pin" while we say "cotter pin" I wonder where we got that term - cotter pin
Are you sure that engine good back in the MG or is it going in the house it look like the new in table to me it look'in good man
Thanks mate... I would like to put it in the house, but my wife wouldn't like it... so the car it is! Cheers

Paint the copper pipe red if you dont like it and see how that looks
I never thought of that... good idea, I'll see where the mood takes me but in the mean time I'm not loving it. Cheers
Or paint it black
Great stuff Peter. Is the motor a 18v five bearing unit.
Also do you have overdrive on the box could not quite
see in the video .
Cheers
Pete.

Yeah options open for sure. I do like the update videos though. Cheers.
I really enjoy your videos! Don´t worry about loosing Patreon supporters, you're bound to loose a few due to Patreons service fee changes.
Thanks Leif and thanks also for your private message. I wrote a reply to Tex's message above... Patreons fees are nuts, I will look into a different method. Cheers

I’m thinking you will need a new gas tank …rusted on top
