The number of likes tells me that most people do not understand geopolitics and prefer to cling to what they hope will unfold, instead of the picture Armstrong paints for his viewers -- us. It's understandable because these times are chaotic. All knowledge requires time and practice. Martin is rare because of his intelligence, knowledge of history, and geopolitical experience. It took a decade for me to value his hypothesis.

He's wrong about de-Dollarisation, it started far earlier than that and traces its origins back in the Asian financial crisis when China first began to manipulate the US Dollar. The buying of gold and selling of debt predates the Swift suspension by quite sometime, although it has certainly reinforced the need to do that, and probably encouraged others to do so.

Perhaps there is a maximum size for a republic to function. Here in Australia, with only 26 million people in a land mass similar to the USA, we have lots of nationalities well represented here and most people are totally ok with it all. (2020 census: "50% of all Australians were either born in another country or have a least one parent that was") Also, national elections are pretty responsive if the citizens are un impressed. States have a lot of rights and responsibilities. Voting is compulsory. Oh, and we also have free health care for all who want it.
