what a beautiful homage and breakdown of the modern history of napoli. From a Mexican thank you so much for treating chucky so well and hopefully napoli keeps the winning streak going.
One thing is repeatedly reported wrong about Napoli's history, and Italian football in general, it's when they say it is a poor city and poor club that surprisingly bought Diego Armando Maradona to win. Napoli had already tried to win the title in the past, sometimes breaking the world record of the biggest purchase in football history (i.e., Jeppson in 1952, Savoldi in 1975). How? The club has been often one of the richest in Italy, especially when most of a club income came from tickets sales. They never managed to win before Maradona, but it's not always been down to economic power. The repeated scandals of Italian football may give a clue on what other type of power was decisive. For those who don't have any idea, since 1949 Napoli is the only club who has won 3 scudetto besides Juventus, Inter and Milan. It's not just the South that never wins, it's the whole of Italy besides those three clubs. Also, the emphasis given in this video on the role played by politics is misleading. It is true that in order to buy Maradona, the president Ferlaino asked 'Banco di Napoli' to provide the liquidity, but he offered his own assets as guarantee. The 'Banco di Napoli' was publicly owned, like many other companies and institutions in Italy at that time, and of course it's hard to believe that such an operation could have happened without the approval of the politics. But this was no different in any other part of Italy. Most Italian entrepreneurs, big or small, have always relied on the support of the politics to run their businesses. With the banking system owned by the public, no entrepreneur was able to access finances without the political support. Most Italian private companies relied on political support to supply goods and services to public institutions and companies, have authorisations granted, laws adjusted, subsidies, etc. Ferlaino, like Berlusconi in Milan, started as a developer. He already had the relationship with the political system without having to witness the success of Roma and copy that model (like journalist Corbo says in this video). Another thing is wrongly worded by Corbo is that "...Tangentopoli stroke in Naples". In fact, the centre of the political and corruption scandal called "Tangentopoli" was Milan.
One thing I admire about Napoli's matches is their team spirit. Kudos to the coach for his sportsmanship spirit inherently infused as practised by the footballers. I appreciate the efforts of Di Lorenzo who superheaded the team; Osihmen for his spectacular touches that so far produced the most goals of the season; the powerful "K.K.77" for his tremendous inputs especially, in creating avenues for goals to be scored ɓy Osihmen, others and himself inclusive; our own Kim for keeping an eagle's eye on their opponents especially the strikers; Anguissa and others whose performances are extremely valuable. Thanks for the success teamly achieved.
First of all, congrats for the contents of this video. Then, as Maurizio De Giovanni said in this video, this Scudetto is the result of a long term planning started 19 years ago. Considering the last 10 years Italian in Serie A Championship, Napoli is the second team in terms of point scored: this means that's a very well job done in all these years. For that reason, in my opinion, better is yet to come. Forza Napoli Sempre! 💙💙💙
As a Milan fan I'm glad that Napoli won. They have been consistently good for the past decade and were the only real opposition to Juventus dominance for a while. This is the culmination of years of hard work. They showed that in football it is still possible for an outsider to win without insane amounts of money or unsustainable debts
Whilst there has been no love lost between Napoli & most of the northern Italian clubs, I do notice a mutual respect between them & Fiorentina. Fiorentina have been through exactly the same as them and even a few weeks ago gave them a very classy guard of honour. Even heard that the Fiorentina fans applauded in the stands. You often hear fights break out between Napoli fans against let’s say Inter Milan, Juventus, Lazio or Roma fans. However, never heard of fights between Napoli & Fiorentina fans.

Good job indeed. As for the author's question at the end of the report, well... I hope the future will be much different than the downfall after the Eighties' wins. Economical stability is a major asset, and also Naples supporters attitude is more tempered and balanced than it used to be in the past. Let's hope for the best.
Well deserved. Hope they can be sustainable going forward. One other thing is the financial planning was exceptional 👏👏👏. Well done. From a Juve supporter. 🍀
great content! (from a Napoli fan) and I totally agree on what the two women say about 2018. that scudetto was ours, and all of italy aside from juventus fans will state we deserved it the most. it was stolen from Sarri and Napoli by a series of referees' "mistakes" favouring, guess who? juventus. as usual. I'll be happy to see them out of Champions League because of fraud in a week. They deserve Serie B again.

I like to see foreing people tell our story but I want to give an advice, try to tell a story around the sentiment, the feelings... Napoli is not just a team or a city... Napoli is the feelings... That is the key to explain the huge joy explosion. This is not just a scudetto like other team can win. Thanks for the video and forza Napoli!
Napoli the Italian Champions is the proof that football is not just to succeed with money but with low cost to invest in young talented players who have played with a spectacular game at high level like the strongest and richest European teams. Well done SSC Napoli 💙
I hope this will be the case with EPL moving forward. It was getting boring, until this season Newcastle, Brighton, and Villa came out stroooooong. I finally watched EPL again after several years skipping!
Dear DW Team esp. Sebastian Saam, my heartfelt Thanks for this insightful, respectful, empathetic report on Napoli and how deeply rooted the team is in the people and thus how much it matters to win this Scudetto. As Napoletano born and raised in Germany, until recently, all you got to see and hear about the town, the people, the club was underwhelming. We struggle because we feel misunderstood and underrated. We thus need to compensate and find strength within ourselves. The Scudetto is like the best acknowledgement thinkable. Forza Napoli sempre. 💙💙💙 💚🤍❤

Grazie ---- thank you ...exstraordinary documentary !
Fantastic documentary, well done DW!!!
Forza Napoli Sempre 🍾 💙💙
Greetings from Canada! Excellent documentary! Forza Napoli!
Thank you, Joey. Spread the word!
Forza Napoli Sempre 💙
Great reporting, Greetings from GUATEMALA! =D
Wow. The city must be so proud. 👏
💙💙💙
Thank you for the nice feedback, Ferdinando!
@@dwkickoff you are welcome!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the production quality and good engagement in this video. Well done.
Thank you, Thembelani. We're doing the best we can... glad you love it ;)
As a Milan fan I'm glad that Napoli won. They have been consistently good for the past decade and were the only real opposition to Juventus dominance for a while. This is the culmination of years of hard work. They showed that in football it is still possible for an outsider to win without insane amounts of money or unsustainable debts
Excellent reporting! Enjoyed every bit of it.
Congratulations guys celebrate in peace its best league trophy for this year
Napoli is my number one team like this.
I wish I was around this much passionate people seems like everyone has their own things going on can't ever just praise one thing together.
Awesome video, grazie!!
Thanks! 💙 FORZA NAPOLI SEMPRE
Nice Documentary!
@dwkickoff This video put tears in my eyes and goosebumps on my arms. Excellent editing and delivery with that mixture of comedy. Well done 👏 👏 Off to a hunt for more of your videos 😅
Congratulations Napoli - Maradona would be very proud of all of you🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations Napoli 👏 truly amazing achievement.

Great story, DW Kickoff doesn't miss
Thank you Kagame, much appreciated.
Everything about Napoli and its love affair with Football and Maradona is a beautiful thing to see. I am so happy for them. Argentina wins the World Cup, Napoli wins the Scudetto. Life is good as a Napoli man
Man you did such an incredibile job. Precise informations, interviews, and magnificent shots at the city made this content so pleasnt to Watch, i thank you from my Heart.
Good job indeed. As for the author's question at the end of the report, well... I hope the future will be much different than the downfall after the Eighties' wins. Economical stability is a major asset, and also Naples supporters attitude is more tempered and balanced than it used to be in the past. Let's hope for the best.
Nice Video and Forza Napoli semp semp ☝️ 💙
NAPOLI Team presenting us Pure Honest Man games with Dignity of the Old Classic Football
Well deserved. Hope they can be sustainable going forward.
One other thing is the financial planning was exceptional 👏👏👏. Well done. From a Juve supporter. 🍀
Excellent..... congratulations
From a AS Roma. Bravo !
Can Mou bring home a scudetto one day, Paul? 😬👀
@@dwkickoff yes he can but he’s his own worst enemy . Lazio will do better with Sarri
Big congratulations 🏆
Spurs fan here and I wish other “fans” would understand that proper and sustainable finances smaller clubs can build champions
Good song choice
Great video
Napoli is a lovely and crazy at the same time,a city full of contradiction. Love the people and the food ❤❤
great content!
Grazie Umberto per la tua immensa professionalità,correttezza nel fare informazione sportiva e nel modo di dire la verità in maniera chiara e signorile.Aggiungo ,molti nemici ,molto onore.
Who is Umberto?
Amazing video. Thanks!
Thanks, Machico! Glad you love it. Spread the word
@@dwkickoff no you are spreading tremendous falsities
I like to see foreing people tell our story but I want to give an advice, try to tell a story around the sentiment, the feelings... Napoli is not just a team or a city... Napoli is the feelings... That is the key to explain the huge joy explosion. This is not just a scudetto like other team can win. Thanks for the video and forza Napoli!
Thank you, alfonso!
Well done documentary. They could have stressed other players that were vital to the team success, you know who they are!
Forza Napoli , da noi palermitani ….e forza Palermo 💗🖤👍
Great content DW 👍🇮🇹
Dear DW Team esp. Sebastian Saam, my heartfelt Thanks for this insightful, respectful, empathetic report on Napoli and how deeply rooted the team is in the people and thus how much it matters to win this Scudetto. As Napoletano born and raised in Germany, until recently, all you got to see and hear about the town, the people, the club was underwhelming. We struggle because we feel misunderstood and underrated. We thus need to compensate and find strength within ourselves. The Scudetto is like the best acknowledgement thinkable. Forza Napoli sempre. 💙💙💙 💚🤍❤
@Sebastian Saam Danke nochmals und viele Grüße!
Wow great video & Napoli what a tradition.
