Halleluia, indeed! I just want to soak for a while in the beauty of Psalm 34. Thank you, Father that you do not abandon us when we take a wrong path. AMEN! When we worked through this chapter, the phrase "going off the rails" kept coming to mind. David was totally clouded by fear and doing crazy (and dangerous) things. Oh, I've been there! All praise to the awesome God we serve that He does indeed NEVER leave us and will keep His angels encamped around us until we are forced to pause, wake up, and remember to seek Him instead of our fearful minds. He is SO good!

Danielle Mbadu I want to soak in the beauty of Psalm 34 too! It's one I've got marked up and refer to time and again. :) "Going off the rails"....whew! I've been there too, and canNOT imagine what I'd do if I were running for my life....and had my antics recorded for the world to see... Yikes! But thankfully, we've also got David's PSALMS recorded. Love that he's honest in his weaknesses, and always praising God for His faithfulness. He is indeed SO good!

Oooooooo yes indeed! Taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the one who trusts or "clings" to Him!! I so love that! I love that it is not about perfection, but clinging. Not about never making a mistake or being faithless, but crying out to Him when we do! I love that God gave us something that we can all do. We can't be perfect, but we can all cling to our perfect God! David lied in this chapter, feigned insanity, but God delivered Him. This is security for me. The same God will delivery me when I err, I just have to cling. Thank you Kim!! You're the best and your gifts are deeply appreciated!!! God bless!!!
P.S. I wait for this study every week. This is my weekend treat!

JCGIRL0001 I love how you said God gave us something we ALL can do...."We can't be perfect, but we can all cling to our perfect God." Amen, sis! We can't even cling perfectly....BUT GOD! So much comfort in that! Yes, so much security! So much to praise Him for! And thank you so much, sis, for your sweet words of encouragement. Your insightful comments and love for the Word are a joy to me....thankful to be studying with you!

I was just reading this chapter when I heard the notification. Now I know the significance of Nob and how it was a bad move. God was with him definitely, as they did not take him then?!

Answer me this please, David first lied and scheme to get his way and/or escape from Saul. Yet, David was God's choice to be King. Was David put through ALL his troubles because of his lying and scheming or wanting to do things his way? AND we ALL sin and fall short, does God penalize us for disobedience and for how long?

thanks for the message, but David was right to lie, because if he had said the true, he wouldn't had escape as far as he went, remember Abraham's too did the same, it doesn't means he (David), didn't trust in God at that movement.

If David didn't cling to God, but God still delivered him, then why did God not allow Moses to enter into the promised land? Both men loved God and made a mistake.
Thank you Kim for these study sessions! They've been a lifeline to me through a difficult journey :)

Moses represented the Old testament and the law but Joshua represented the New Testament and salvation.
Joshua name is also similar to Jesus in Hebrew, being Yeshua.
