Very helpful. Even though I'm looking for a slide scanner rather than negs, I've seen mention that the Epsons struggle with 35mm but excel with larger. Your video illustrates the point perfectly, thanks. Looks like I'll be going for a Plustek.

Hello! I'm about to order the Plustek 8300i SE. Do you think it's a good purchase or would it be better if I get the Epson V850, but expect more than double the price?

If you are only going to be scanning 35mm then go for the Plustek

After talking with my local lab, The scratches you’re seeing on the plustek are a results of the tiny light source not being diffused enough apparantly. They do my head in, and ice is inferior to just doing it manually in lightroom. You most likely wouldn’t see these tiny scratches if you printed it in a darkroom.

Yes that is what I figured that it was the light source and no you don’t see them when you print in the dark room as I do have an enlarger and a darkroom.

Excellent video. I have been thinking about getting a Plustek myself.
You mentioned that you developed the negatives yourself. What chemicals do you use for developing color?

Thank you see this video here th-cam.com/video/BNpIgqvMkiU/w-d-xo.html which is using CineStill Film C41 chemicals but I also use the Bellini C41 kit and ECN2 kit for Kodak vision 3 cinema film.

@@GrandadsReviews Thank you. I have been looking at the Cinestill kit, so I will give that a go. Your scans of the orc etc. looked very good indeed.

    The Epson looks sharper.
