Well done sir! I'm a truck driver. I have two goosenecks, and two fifth wheel trailers....I've been looking for custom designs for my volvo semi...this is super helpful...I love the overbuild...because...Who gives a crap...make strong!
This is the perfect video!!! I found your channel looking up fire truck car haulers. I want to do this exact same build for my travel trailer but also need it for a flatbed to haul my jeeps!
Fyi, factory gooseneck ball from Chrysler for 1 ton dodge is rated for 38k. Forget curt or whoever and their mickey mouse setups. Liability stress is over for me as they installed factory setup. Good luck
I just found your channel today and am looking at all the Firetruck videos. I really like what you’ve done. I will be doing similar when I find deal on a another used Firetruck. Can you tell me why you tilt the Mag Drill before turning on the magnetic base?
Great job young man don't change a thing. Your attitude and enthusiasm is over the top. As far as I'm concerned I really like what you're doing. Don't stop and thanks. ? What is your height of the hitch ground to top of plate?👍
So are you a full time metal fabricator and part time fire fighter? Don’t know any “backyard welder” that has a plasma table in their garage lol. Very good videos. How did you verify the subframe was straight and level for the rollback bed? Just one measurement along the frame on each side?
Well I'm the first backyard welder you know with a plasma table lol. I'm a volunteer fire fighter in my town, and I've never had the job as a metal fabricator or welder, ive just always done it for my self. My dad is a master metal fabricator basically where I learned most of the craft. Between going to school and covid last year is where I found all the time to build this rig. Also I know the video only shows a few measurements, not even lying, i spent more time measuring on the build than the build itself so I could fit everything I wanted to. You make sure the frame is level, you make sure the frame is the same length on each side and then you do a X measurment. To make sure the frame is square. This year I plan on doing alot of how to videos and going over the truck more in detail.

Thanks I appreciate it!! I'll get back to you later with the exact measurements.
What did you decide on the hitch height from the ground to the base of the ball?
