Yes, they do create a mood. And they are so transcendent, especially in this song. My favorite song from one of my favorite albums. Loved your analysis.
Great analysis and reaction to one of their multitude of immersive songs. Would love to see. you react to Radioheads 'Nude' & 'Weird Fishes/Arpeggi' and 'Reckoner' performed live from the In The Basement sessions. Cheers from South Australia
When it comes to Radiohead you can't go wrong with anything from the basement. They are so masterful at creating a beautiful atmosphere through composition always creating an amazing soundscape for us to dwell in.
I am struck by the use of a Gamelan bell drone in the background. As you say , another layer that adds to the feeling of being suspended outside of normal reality.
Nice reaction 👍🏻 Please check out Neverland (live '09) by Marillion 🙏. It's a love song you'll love it for sure ❣️ Side note: If Pink Floyd and Radiohead had a child together, it would be Marillion (said the band's singer) ☺️.
Since you are musicians... Do Live from the Basement - In Rainbows... Maybe the record first actually. It's so much fun to watch how they make all these sounds, arrangements etc.
Never understood the hype with these. I think you have to consider when they came to prominence. During the barren wasteland that was Grunge and pop-punk, most things are an improvement on that. A mixture of poor mans prog, weak electronica mixed with the misery of Grunge/Pop-Punk. This track is just one theme, constantly repeated with some whining vocals thrown in. Radiohead was thrown out to the patrons here for a song, any song. Nobody but 1 patreon wanted to hear them. Says a lot.
How many Radiohead songs have you heard? This is one of their more mainstream songs when it comes to structure. Compared to other bands, there isn't as much repetition. Even the two guitars are playing independent time signatures so that they overlap at different parts.
Don't think I've ever heard this before. Beautiful instrumentation. All the textures and layers create a kind of "wall of sound" effect. I had more of a feeling of ascending and floating rather than being let down. Maybe the lyrics were saying "let down". Didn't focus on the lyrics. Good pick Amber. And thanks for the review SAD!
Love that you said you can choose. Yes! Choose whether to be “let down…crushed like a bug in the ground” Or “..one day, I am going to grow wings…” Thanks SaD!
This song is such a masterpiece. It feels like youre floating through space thinking about all the bad shit that happened. The music (especially the last chorus which so rewarding) feel kinda hopeful even though the lyrics are so damn sad
My first favourite Radiohead song from almost instantly when I bought the album in 1997. I could really relate to the lyrics and that build is just magical! ❤ Still one of ly favorites, though I love them all. Please react to more 😊
Eventually this becomes everyone's favourite song on OK Computer. Can take years, but you get there in the end. 😅
This is true ❤
I use to put in on the jukebox in my local and no one could understand why
To me, it was Love at the first sight!!
Hehe... Nope, always was my favorite.
This is correct. But this also goes for every song on the album.
My top three Radiohead songs: 1. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi 2. How to Disappear Completely 3. Let Down.
Perfect songs.
Present Tense also has that potential
I agree, Let Down, Arpeggi and Present tense hits my soul a little extra... Though I love all their songs.
"Let Down" underrated. right guys? :)
Let down underrated

Let down underrated
I first heard Let Down back when I was a freshmen in HS, and to this day it’s quiet possibly my favorite Radiohead song ever
It's a great one! Thanks for watching!
It has that late '60s West Coast, late '90s Stones Roses jingly jangly guitar feel about it, with layers and layers on top of it. Beautiful.

One of my favorite songs by them. It's takes me to another place
My favorite Radiohead song!
My favorite song of theirs. A beautifully magical song that mixes hope equally with melancholy.
Facts!
For me personally, this song is the best song I've ever heard. Very beautiful
Well said!
Dont forget Ed O'Brien's harmony and melodic supoort to the vocals, as well as his guitar works.
Nice reaction 👍🏻

The mood was melancholy. The lyrics are jump off a bridge.
LOL
How

Anyone else think Dan is cute? haha

I’d normally like to say more or have a discussion. But I think my statement encapsulates it perfectly.

Radiohead.....one of the true creative bands. They don't care if so-called "Prog" fans don't get it.
@@amedeeabreo7334 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 dream on ass wipe
@@amedeeabreo7334 exactly what I'd expect from someone who'd never heard any music prior to 1993 🙂
Toots and the Maytals version from RadioDread. Has to be done
There are certain songs that put you in a specific place, and specific feeling. This song is one of those for me.

Radioheads amazing! definitely a deep dive I’d suggest for pretty much anyone
We agree! THey're definitely worth a deep dive.

Thanks SaD!
Yeah but even when he grows wings he becomes hysterical and useless.
This sandwiched between Exit Music and Karma Police, probably my favourite “side” off a vinyl album of all time
I still go back to Computer more than In Rainbows
🤘🤘
He's thinking about it, she's feeling it
Different strokes….
