Wow, that's actually something I've been waiting for. I do mostly wedding videography and using the Tamron 17-28 and 28-75 and now I'll be able to use just one lens, probably most of the day on the main camera.
Got to say, can't stop watching your videos. The quality is so good, lol. Lots of info and your color grading is great.

Very nice setups. Love the matte box comment at the end! For the Remus setup I asked you in a previous vdo if you would trust lidar in this type of scenario. This solution is a great alternative but if you have a dedicated operator, Lidar would still be ok? Also Laowa is launching a Nanomorph Zoom anamophic lens. I see that could merge both these setups if it holds up (and the flares are less pronounced)

Haha sadly I didn’t get to keep the A7CII or the lens. But yes this build can be applied to any camera really!!! I’m debating on buying the A7CII still. Just love how hybrids and solid it is for both video and stills needs
What a neat set-up and cage mod! Just got my Remus set in blue and love 'em so much I've ordered the 65mm in amber too. Using them in 16:9, 3:2 or 6:5 with the Zcam E2 F6, I find them really nice to use.
Thinking of getting the A7Cii over the ZV E1 or FX3 for everyday stuff, video and photo. Sounds like you're still very happy with the A7Cii apart from the 60p crop, right?

This is a real SOLUTION of a cinematic shot other than just a gimmick look on a bake-in lut or something.
I wonder If the x100vi could do B-Roll footage like the A7Cii.. Would you own both? Insightful video btw, refreshing visuals from the talking head stuff of others.
One of my first thoughts after using the 24-50mm 2.8 is that in terms of focal range it's very similar to the legendary Sigma 18-35 1.8. No internal zoom like the Sigma but it's nice to finally have a Sony full frame (almost) equivalent for filmmaking
Now just imagine if we got a full frame f1.8 zoom lens from Sony 🥹

You should get a pdmovie wireless follow focus to your run and gun setup, you get lidar autofocus, built-in battery and tiny tiny focus wheel

Have you used the Sony ECM-M1 before? I was looking at that since it is smaller than the B1M but am curious how much different the audio quality is.
I know traditionally the longer a shotgun mic is the better isolation it has… zero clue if that’s how this one works tho
I had the ecm m1 and traded it in for the b1m. The latter has in my opinion better audio, especially on the lower ends, and it does not have the «echo» sound of the m1. There are some quirks however; handling noise (rubber band around the mount helps a lot), and it also picks up focusing sounds so have to be more selective of the lenses you use. I think its worth it tough, for the more natural sounding audio.

11:04 - I get what youre saying - it can be used on set yes. It's a slick setup. Im one of those "pretentious filmmakers" probably. It's a slick setup - the Accsoon has a minimum of a 60ms delay though - great for monitoring - horrid for pulling focus if a subject is moving. Even at 10:52 when moving the camera up and down you can see the delay in the video. Sick setup for monitoring, but not for focus.
Agreed. But my point was, in a pinch. Obviously if we have the option to use a tool built for that.. then we would use that. But say if a team had to use this setup.. can’t tell me it wouldn’t work haha

Why the accsoon vs the monitor+ app?
I was gonna mention that, video was too long already haha. It’s impossible to pull focus on the monitor+ app. The image quality isn’t clear enough. It’s great for basic monitoring though. Like I used it right after when we filming for another video with the 24-50mm lens on
