When I was little my Dad used to come in the drive way on a Friday night having had a beer or two and the radio cranked up to George Jones. What a legend of a singer
I'm 55yrs old and been a big fan for 45yrs, never got to see him in concert, but I almost feel like I knew him!! Who's gonna fill his shoes? Nobody in my book!! Rip ole No Show!!
R.I.P. I was at his funeral services and it was very sad to know country music lost one of their best ever. George turned his heart over to the Lord and has went home to Jesus, God Bless you George and watch over your wife Nancy.
Damn...I love country music but only from a certain era. George Jones sang what my heart felt. Thank you Mr Marcum for writing such a beautiful song about him. That pedal steel guitar just pulls at my heart strings.
I had never heard this song but here I sit listening on the 4th anniversary of the day George Jones died. The line "country music won't ever be the same" sure rings true. So many of us country music lovers are gonna miss that man forever.
I never get enough of the PBS special, Country Music. George Jones is featured at length, and reminds us all of the great country music he and others created. Thank you George.
Real country will never be same the new singers all they sing is bong bong shit so sad Nashville is joke they don't real country they went Hollywood !!!

Darrell best song of the century... has all the emotions and feelings you feel and felt for George when you wrote this song. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Nice song. I like how you have a tinge of George at the end of your sentences. He created that! He owns that. Anyone who knows country music knows that little nasally errrrr to punctuate a line...is pure George Jones. Very good job on this. I'm sure he would be honored.
This is an Awesome Song!!! Gives me chills when I hear it. And that is what Country should do. I love George Jones & this is a wonderful tribute song!!
That is one beautiful & heartbreaking story all rolled into one! It was sad to see that part of his career that they called him "No Show Jones"! The lawsuits, bankruptcy & divorce, living out of his car would be enough to drive many over the edge. I'm sure glad he was able to overcome all, for the most part. Having an abusive father sure didn't help either! Wish him & Tammy could of worked things out & enjoyed a long happy life together, I guess it just wasn't ment to be. RIP Tammy & George ❤❤
After all these years I still cry I miss George Jones .Never missed a show when he came to BATON ROUGE LOUISIANA. ALWAYS A SELL OUT. HE WAS THE BEST. MET SO MANY THAT CAME TO LOUISIANA . GEORGE WE ALL MISS OUR POSSUM.
