While I don't buy that her life was totally perfect before the tragedy (especially since she was from a Mormon church and with them something is always happening behind closed doors) no one should have to go through this
She's stated many times her life wasn't perfect and her family wasn't perfect. She was just a normal happy child. Her Mormon faith wasn't the issue. It was Brian David Mitchell and his wife that was the issue. Using the faith as weapon to manipulate and abuse her.
One thing I really learned from her is that God always makes good out of what the enemy intended to bad. Whatever bad thing that may be happening to you right now will have an impact in the future...on your life and on people lives. The impact can be good or bad all depending on your decisions and how you react to it.
