  • Ompik Cave.
Deep inside the verdant forest between Brgy. Lulugayan and Salvacion lies a cavern called as 'Ompik,' a dry cave which sanctuarize a certain species of bats; It also has an enormous entrance which leads to a wide chamber.
According to the local guide, the cave was a non-living witness of the political and armed-struggle of the far-left movement during the height of the martial law period and it is believed to confine the japanese soldiers during their occupation in the country as well.
Setting-foot in Ompik is quite challenging, the difficulty is gradual as one would start hiking in stable and cleared trails before entering the forest with slippery and loose limestone rocks. The environs of the forest is also composed of some poisonous plants that's why an individual needs to be keen on what he/she would touch.
In the modern times, the vicinity of the cave can be utilized for camping and it can host for approximately 12-15 campers.
Truly, the caves of Samar is not only rich with pristine sightings, some of it also has historical accounts, waiting to be sung.
