Amen. I just watched an interview of David Gilmore with Jimmy Fallon, and David could barely get a word in edgewise. Very annoying... I know it's your show, Dude, but why invite any guests if you are not gonna allow them to express so much as a complete thought?

My friends and I wore two different colored socks to High School in 1968. Because we wanted to make a statement that we don't have to do whatever everyone else is doing. That has been my philosophy ever since.

That's why so many commercials are about FEAR. Like Coppola said, we're happy so the ads have to make us fearful and unhappy in order to sell us stuff. Brilliant guy.
Unless you're doing it effectively, in which case you'd let your plans be as dark and impenetrable as night, and when you finally move, you'd fall like a thunderbolt.

Francis, thank you again for an outstanding interview at the Daily Show! It was also a pleasure to remember working with you as a background actor on the film at Trilith Studios for 4 production days and have continued to remember the experience in the arts 🎭 Congratulations again Francis and am excited to see you as a Kennedy Center Honoree this December! 🎬🎥

I didn’t get a chance to see it in theater, I still want to see this movie, even though it’s got fairly bad reviews for the most part. But even if it might be bad potentially in my opinion, when I watch it, it will at least be different from most movies that are released nowadays I am sure.because most movies nowadays are pretty much the same as their peers or are just iterations of older films.
“There’s a line in my movie, ‘When you leap into the unknown, you prove you are free,’ so I leap into the unknown whenever I can because I want to be free.” One of the best lines I've ever heard. This man is unique, a living legend. What an eye-opening interview!!
10:42 There are multiple versions of DUNE but Im very thankful Denis Villeneuve did it anyway. I Thoroughly enjoyed Megalopolis and would love a sequel.
What a pleasant unintended consequence of the Trump win: folks taking fewer cheap shots at Francis and our Megalopolis. I'm here for that all day long.

Huge massive W, bro. This film needs more love, more respect, more appreciation, & more attention. I rewatched this film 6 times. I really didn't understand the hate from critics
I was trying to be an auteur when Apocalypse Now came out, & told friends it was half of the greatest movie ever made. Really want to see Megalopolis , critics are sheep.
I rewatched Megalopolis 6 times. It's now my top 2. I really don't understand the hate from the critics. It just really breaks my heart, of the amount of hate that this film has gotten, because of the critics :/
@@BesherLoveFilms Apocalypse Now was trashed when it was released. But, It made it's money back in a few years and today is revered as one of the best works of cinema. Coppola keeps Apocalypse Now in the theatres today because he can afford it. He'll do the same with Megalopolis long after it makes its money back and people finally understand its artistic merit.
I expected more with Megalopolis. It seemed like there were too many loose threats that he was attempting to weave into one cohesive tapistry. Not to mention the trope of "pretty young girl can fix broken old man" is ao tired and boring. I paid $5 to see the film at my theater's Tuesday discount day. The sexes were equal in Etruscan society, in Crete there was matriarchy also in ancient Colchis. When you consider the size of space and the likelihood of other life like ours (way less than xero), every human is a miracle. Except the orange julius. Sometimes I wear different shoes.
What a wise and talented visionary: “when you leap into the unknown you prove that you are free”
Too bad the movie wasn’t as visionary or profound. Biggest let down of the year for me.
Just read elsewhere 'Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.'
Existentialism for the win, baybee.

I watched Megalopolis at a small ccommunity cinema in Kraków Poland. FFC is an American film Auteur-Genius. Brilliant!
Love everything Mr. Coppola is saying here about modern life. What a legend.
The 'selling your identity' part at 9:15 is SO IMPORTANT
The point that art is about more than profit is well made - it's something that's been forgotten, which is why so little of today's film is art.
I'm so happy to hear how gently he reminded us all that we are all "cousins". Bottom line, we are meant to be free. His message quietly loud!
I'm no cousin with the maga crowd.
