If you're curious as to where I got it from, it was from the Halo texture pack soundtrack for the console release. I guess they had put some of these unreleased bits in there. It's a bit off in a few areas but it was out of my control as to how much flexibility I had with the audio itself. Either way I hope it pleases fellow Halo fans such as myself.

You playing as the Secodn Didact (which it turns out is the GEAs that the Master Chief holds in the present time)

halo is centered around that era. the flood war was just a building block on the foundation of the story lore for the game. To establish a detailed background for the games themselves.
thats like asking for a game set in james cameron's terminator future war.

01:40 this theme just gets me so pumped, the Forerunners gearing up and prepared defend all life in the galaxy.
They may have messed up bad, but they did want to preserve life. There were genuinely good people amongst them
Indeed as arrogant and petty as their species was they still abided by the Mantle of Responsibility. The Librarian and Iso-Didact cherished life and its processes, fighting even though defeat was inevitable. However, forerunners such as the Ur-Didact and Faber along with those who shared their mindset made up a majority of species. The former was an extremist who was pushed to insanity from the war and the latter was an immoral prick who was petty until he understood the gravity of his crimes and atoned by dying on Omega Halo. However, the Forerunners still live just not in our galaxy those few that survived the firing left forsaking their technology and living simpler lives. They atoned for their sins and even though they still live somewhere out there it's likely will never see them again .
When you realize that the means of salvation is to admit your mistakes and reflect on them, and to destroy all the foundations and pride you have built.
It would be cool if they made a game about the forerunner flood war and kinda put a halo reach feel to it. Where each of your comrades get slowly picked off until it's just you.
Except you actually have character development and therefore care about your teammates
you can feel the urgency and desperation in the music that correlates so perfectly with the lore behind the war itself.

Respect for that one Forerunner commander that fought the flood for decades even when all hope was lost he and his men fellow warrior-servants fought to the end in a vain hope to buy time for the Foreunners to find a solution against the flood.

ghostda toast I believe it is. This is a compilation of songs.
But yeah, that was always my favorite part of the music, not to mention an epic showcase of the Forerunner Machinery, though it was enivetibally useless. As a kid, I used to A-B repeat that specific part on my DVD player.

I really wonder why the Forerunners were scripted to die, I mean I get it they are the strongest species to live but really there could be something done about that at least give them a little more lively story instead of seeing the same thing over n' over...
I mean at the end of the war the forerunners were barely hanging on for dear life. Their latest AI bought just enough time for them to fire halo before the entirety of the flood could smash into them and destroy their last resort

@@stephenwalsh2476 they built offensive bias to fight mendicant bias, who was their original contender class ai. If it wasn't for the logic plague, mendicant bias wouldn't have gotten corrupted, and therefore no need for offensive bias.

You can find this song by looking up the minecraft xbox one mashup ost where the song is on there and its called "sacred icon"
