Pop is short for popular culture. It’s our modern era, beginning 1900 and continuing now. He’s the King of our entire modern culture. It’s called popular culture bc it was the beginning of tv, media, technology, music and anything else getting popular bc it was able to travel easier from person to person thanks to the developments of technology. Before pop culture, only the rich could experience music.

He asked for nothing, only that people buy his records & attend his concerts lol. Dear MJ Fanatics, Michael is NOT the only person born of a woman since Adam & Eve who "had a horrific childhood" if that PR spin is to be believed. Everyone loved Michael & only became "detractors" when rumors & allegations about him pr3ying on & m0l3sting boys began to surface & the DRASTIC transformation of his face to looking like a white drag queen. If ANY other celebrity did the same, said celebrity will have "detractors" too

For sure Michael was a loving soul but I don't think he completely forgave him and said it for the public and for sure he never forgot it or healed from it, it's clear they were never close, he even left him out of his will and that says a lot in my opinion, I don't judge him I would do the same thing, the man always used him for his money, he gave himself credit for "creating the biggest group in the world" but I doubt he ever apologized or took credit for the hurt he caused, he was always super arrogant talking like "I made no mistakes" even his wife Katherine had to cut him off and say "don't say that", his cruel brutal treatment affected him for the rest of his life, even when he died they found notes on the walls and mirrors and one of them said "discipline with love, not violence" and another one said "love, no violence ever", in the last recording where the doctor recorded him before he died he said he wanted to build a hospital for children and take care of them so they wouldn't be depressed and he said he felt their pain because he had no childhood... I wonder if or how much did Joe actually change cause 3 days after Michael died he was promoting his new label cold as hell with no respect talking like "we lost the biggest superstar" and not his SON. Seems like that's all he cared about.

Here’s the thing tho, I don’t know any African, Caribbean or African American family that didn’t Dads who beat their kids especially coming from the Joseph Jackson generation (40’s - 70’s)
I guarantee Joseph & Katherine were disciplined the same exact way. Every African, AA & Caribbean person I’ve ever met all got spanked or whipped lol
Now was Joseph prolly excessive ?? Prollly was MJ just a sensitive kid?? Prolly
2 things can be true at the same time lol
Now if u look at his brothers, they weren’t as sensitive as MJ & MJ even admits that Marlon got it way worse than he did…..ppl just deal w/ getting whipped differently
So no I’m not shocked that the other Bros don’t speak out about being spanked. They have different dispositions than MJ had….& they all rebelled in their own way. 3 of the bros all got married super young so they could be their own man & be out from under Joseph….same w/ Janet when she got married
As far as the Jehovah Witness stuff, I mean if that’s their religion & that’s their religion
Did Joseph do a lot of wrong? Yes. But I kno a lot of now young adults that would’ve preferred having a Dad ride their ass everyday than have no Dad at all (& that’s a fact)
I’ve been to Gary, Indiana & it is one of the most drug filled repressed cities in USA that nobody talks about……Joseph did not want his kids doing any of that shit
All his kids (even by Hollywood’s standards) came out pretty normal. His kids aren’t criminals or drug addicts….MJ would’ve never been on drugs if he didn’t have the Pepsi burn accident
Even in the video tho MJ says all the bad shit Joseph did, in the video MJ says & I quote “but he was a genius….he was a genius”
Not everyone is All Bad & All Good. Life isn’t black & white. It tends to be shades of grey
If Joseph didn’t give a shit about his kids, he wouldn’t have been there at all lol I kno a lot of ppl who have Dads who abandoned them or they never even met their Dad
Joseph is just an example of that rough parenting generation. No black person (of any age) can hear these Joseph stories & admit they didn’t experience it too OR have a relative who did

No child deserves to be abused, no matter how much “discipline” a parent thinks they’re doing by beating their kids. You don’t teach your kids anything but fear.
I hope everyone who has been through parental abuse gets the healing, love, care, & support you deserve. Therapy helps. Don’t repeat the steps of your parents with your kids. There are other ways to instill discipline into your kids.

I saw so many similarities in my own childhood and I am the same age as Michael Jackson was. Beatings, being chased around the house, hiding being thrown up against the walls, being face slammed into a kitchen table, living in fear of a man that I was supposed to trust as a father.. I understand his pain, it ruins you as a child and as a functioning adult. No matter how much you can fool the world, your child inside yourself is permanently broken and in those quiet alone moments, you try to work it out and make it better but you can never change the damage these monsters do to you.. Love you Michael and I understand what you also went through and I am truly sorry you had to endure that suffering and hide what he was doing and did to you until you were an adult and could safely even talk about it.. RIP Dear Michael, you were a gift on this planet and we all remember you and will always love you even if your father didn't or couldn't..

Michael needed therapy for his father’s abuse to him. Unfortunately seeking as much fame as he possibly could, surgery to not look like his dad and in the end drugs was how he coped with it. Sure ✔️ I just watched the video and honestly I was crying all the way through it just so devastatingly heartbreaking, tragic & sad 💔. I know your right when you say MJ should have had therapy but the sad fact is that back in the 1970’s & early 1980’s psychotherapy and psychiatry was seen very much as a taboo in US society. Most people viewed anyone in treatment as being mentally ill or crazy. Which is really sad & truly unfortunate. Also MJ was a devout Jehovah’s Witness & in his very strict faith I don’t think it was encouraged to seek secular psychological treatment like psychotherapy. The elders in the Jehovah’s Witness faith would try to help but sadly they weren’t psychologist. Also after the global mega super success of the Thriller album sadly MJ became untouchable. He was a very damaged man with too much money & power & if he refused the right psychological treatment then no one could help him. So fate tragically had its way with him. It’s still very difficult & painful to re-experience all of MJ’s childhood abuse, hurt & trauma. It’s really upsetting. In many way sadly MJ’s Hell was here on Earth. Now he is at peace resting eternally in the arm of God. I will love him forever because he was a rare, precious, beautiful, kind, sensitive, fragile, damaged, caring soul. RIP

@@ST-nz4bf I mean he left the JW religion in 1987, but I can understand that even in the 90s or the 2000s the press was already calling him crazy even when he went to rehab in 93 imagine if they caught him in therapy, and I think one of the reasons why he wasn't able to was that he couldn't trust people, take the Rabbi for example, he was supposed to be his spiritual adviser and these were supposed to be private and he went and recorded Michael, which I guess would be okay for therapy purposes but then he went and released them after he died and even released a whole book on them, I don't think he wanted those out and the guy was clearly not his friend and wanted to get money and be relevant, Michael had trust issues and for good reason. After that mockumentary got out he said he believed Michael was guilty even after hearing Michael bearing his soul to him about his pure love for children and his genuine desire to help them.

Even with his own sons' girlfriends. Had a whole seperate family. Disgusting. There is no money in the world that can repair the emotional damage he did to his children. The conclusion that I’ve come to is that children just don’t belong in show business. We’ve witnessed decades of abuse and child labor in in order for children to be successful. The industry is evil.
Also Michael regurgitating at the sight of his father is something spiritual. It’s possible Joseph might’ve been a dark entity. Some ppl who are deeply spiritual, esp like Mike can feel that powerful dark energy.
@10:07 my heart sank. Imagine what he felt when the police department made him strip. Those scars just flooding back. And how symbolic because again, Joe’s dark energy manifested into reality. This truly proves how parents curse their children with their low frequency energy and fury. It manifests! This is why it’s so important to LOVE your children.

This was triggering for me. I was physically and emotionally too. I am 62 yeas old now, my father has changed and apologised, but hearing him talk about it, the fear, running to hide because he was pulling in the driveway. Just about everything he said i identified with. Listening to Michael talk about it gave me anxiety and tightness in my chest. I am glad my father finally realized what he did was wrong and sincerely apologized but the scars stay.

Micheal was such a beautiful, gentle, humble being. The horrific abuse he endured at the hands of that evil being didn’t make Michael that way- he was born that way. I’ve heard people try to sanitize MJ’s childhood and abuse by saying that it made him the dynamic artist he was. Hell, my mother one time said over the phone when she was 56 years old, that while Michael Jackson didn’t have a childhood, neither did the slaves. Given how Michael’s life post 1984 panned out, I don’t think the abuse and lost childhood were even worth Thriller.

If anything Michael is a cautionary tale of the damage abuse really does to a child... MJ could have been just as successful just by his father being strict and pushing him to succeed but could have saved his life in the long wrong, by simply removing the trauma and abuse he endured from his childhood he could have just been a helicopter parent and still had a successful family, instead of being a monster who destroyed his sons self worth and confidence and ruining what should have been a really wonderful life ... Look at Taylor Swift she has become even more successful than him by today's standards and she has two amazing, loving, supportive parents and they didn't destroy their child and her innocence to get her there...

I can relate to his eccentricities, complex feelings toward his father, loneliness/jadedness, & his abuse. Maybe that’s why I always liked his music growing up & I love it even more now bc he’s literally a mirror of myself, cause I have ASD. I sung a lot of his music on my channel btw

So sad that those children feared, Feared their father. A father is supposed to love and care for his children. He was mean to them. It's good Michael later forgave his father so he didn't have to carry that hatred. Michael had to release it for his own mental health. I'm so sorry that family was dysfunctional like that. ☹️😢

He would probably beat her up too. It was a bad time back then for black families. No one cared

Cause of her religion or keep the image of "perfect family" Idk I read Jermaine's girlfriend's book it was the 80s 90s he was cheating on her even with his own sons' love interests, disgusting, the brothers were abusive and cheated on their wives too
