I agree with replacing the hardware with more maps, bonus encounters and documents. I rarely find much use to any of the hardware. Honestly, the main reason I buy these is for the battle maps with the extra encounters and documents being a nice bonus. Plus, a lot of the hardware is available as a seperate purchase anyways on their website so I'd just expand on offering them as add-ons instead of part of every box. I also don't need the broken down book as I like to buy the alt covers but that may just be me.

Nice review, thank you! It’s a personal pet peeve of mine when a purchase gives you a single coin. Some boardgames these days manage to give a bunch of nice, bespoke metal coins without breaking the bank.

I feel that. I’d honestly rather see the hardware replaced with more maps and custom missions and documents. I don’t really get much from the hardware, but I imagine they give the set a luxury feel that more paper doesn’t.

Do you guys plan on covering more critical role sets? There’s a bunch of previous packs that haven’t been reviewed yet.
I’d also love to see you guys cover onslaught.

Onslaught reviews coming this week. And we do still have several Crit Role sets in the very long queue as well. 😂 Any set in particular you want to see?

@@TheGallantGoblin Awesome! I can’t wait. I’d honestly love a review of any of the npc/pc character packs. Preferably the older ones as I have more of those and I always love learning more about them as well as hearing your ideas for new and different ways to utilize them outside of critical role.

It gives me great ideas, I didn't know the encounter card technique. The handouts to the players, the amount of lore, the maps, the representation of DL elements would make the Hickman and Weiss (the original authors) proud. The metal tokens give a sense of reality to the game. But to buy and use this producto you must have a group ready to play it or you would waste it. It's too much content to have it "just for fun" like a RPG magazine where you read all the adventures because you are curious but never implement it. Also, time consuming, this is a long term campaign to live in a new world as a PC,, but the time comes from our world! Much better than a video game, great product.

I LOVE Dragonlance and was tempted to buy this, but it just kinda misses the mark for me. At the very least, I would've liked to have seen an exclusive Beadle & Grimm Dragonlance DM Screen included.

This was my first Beadle and Grimm box I picked up and was pretty disappointed. All the stuff you get is very nice and high quality, but the box feels lacking. No DM screen or completion coin is a big let down. The battle maps are so few or don’t really cover enough of the area, one map is two rooms and half a hall way for a multi level dungeon.
When you look at what you get in this box and compare it to Curse of Strahd which is $100 more you real feel like this isn’t worth it. CoS has a full scale map of all of castle Ravenloft, puppets, and more handouts.
Dragonlance is my favorite setting and is why I was finally willing to pre order a Beadle and Grimm product, cause they usually sell out before you see what your getting. I would have paid the $500+ for a platinum edition. But this edition is just not worth it in my opinion, not enough to be worth more than their Silver editions and falls way short of their Platinum editions.

Great review and showcase. Lots of great stuff to be sure. My overall impression is that it is a set by players for players. That's a refreshing breeze as far as I'm concerned. 😁

Wow. I had no idea these existed - steep price for some minor support and re imagining.

Yeah, they're crazy expenses, but well worth it if you can afford it (or even better, as the video suggests you can split it between your gaming group). Really awesome quality. I'd love for B&G to do more of their own stuff, rather than official tie ins.

You're still use D&D Beyond? I hope you're not paying for it.
