there is an element of sad poetic irony that is overlooked in this review, Catwoman admires felines and self identifies with their qualities, but when she actually becomes one, she's torn between her love for their grace and beauty but is also dejected by how unnatural what she's become and can never be with Tyger because of it.

I was about 8 or 9 years old when this episode first aired, and I remember being blown away with how nuanced this particular episode was. Of course, at the time I didn't have the words or mental fortitude (at that age) to articulate exactly WHY I enjoyed it so much. It was bittersweet and sad, and the ending (while good for Selina) left me feeling pensive and melancholy for several days afterwards. It was a strange feeling, liking the episode but also feeling bad for the Cat man.
That's why I'm so surprised this was rated so low here. To me, it was one of the better episodes, "almost" up there with the Mr. Freeze, _Heart of Ice_ episode and the Clayface introduction episode, _Feat of Clay._ It was disappointing to hear you sound so...bored and apathetic about _Tyger, Tyger._

My guess is during this specific period, like, 12 different super gorillas were created, and those twelve have been shuffled around, remixed and reused over the decades.

That poem seems to have done more for the episode than being just quoted. The story behind the poem’s conception is also very strongly referenced with how the episode begins and the idea of God forming and creating creating the creature the Tiger which is a deadly, powerful, destructive, mysterious and beautiful creature is also brought-up in the poem. All of these ideas are brought-up within the episode with Dorian creating and forming these cat-like creatures and mentioning how and why he loves them. In that way Dorian -like how Dr. Frakenstine and Dr. Moreau did-is playing the role of God. A role in which he can create and destroy life.

I personally like the episode but I feel like there was a big missed opportunity.
This is a cool idea for a story but what's missing is the consequences of the events in the story.
It's weird that this episode has great continuity by showing Batman working with Langstrom, but then the genetic mutation done to Catwoman doesn't have any repercussions. Catwoman could have been returned to human form but still have latent enhanced senses from the cat DNA. I think Gargoyles did this concept better with the mutated humans/fake Gargoyles plotline in their story where it's not all undone in one episode and consequences are still felt throughout the series.

I’m a big fan of creature features, and I can definitely tell that this was inspired by The Island of Dr. Moreau book, Plus, Jim Cummings voices tigress and Garth perfectly, Plus Emil Dorian is a fun villain, I love the idea of animal hybrids living on an island. It’s just fascinating, also he gives me James Bond vibes for some reason, plus the animation by dong yang was top notch imo, all in all a really enjoyable episode in my opinion.😊👍😊

I'm not gonna lie, I loved this episode when it first came on, it was also the first time I had ever heard any part of the "Tiger Tiger" poem and I became just a tad bit obsessed with finding the rest of it. This was early days of the internet still and AOL was the big name and was paid dial-up..I didn't get internet until NetZero became a thing and was free dial-up for a good while. So I didn't get to see the rest of the poem until quite some time after the episode. I still rather like it..there's a lot of good Batman Animated series episodes, it was a hell of a thing and for many people growing up in the 90's is their definitive version of Batman..I still like Adam West Batman for the goofy factor and just how much West enjoyed playing the character..grew up on reruns of that along with Animated Batman.
