Two Words for you, Strain Relief. What happens if someone yanks on the cord when it's almost fully extended, it's going to then transfer that pull inside the cylinder and snatch out your socket connections. Something as simple as tying a knot in the cord on the inside of the cylinder would completely solve the problem. Aside from that, I really like what you've built. Nice job. It's not perfect, but I'm sure it'll definitely get the job done for quite a few years before needing servicing.
