I feel Baiken fares better in Samurai Showdown where she's a guest, than in her backyard of Guilty Gear... it's weird but she just seems much more at home in SNK's world than her creators gave her

Not for the pick up and play, she's a lady needing time and 100% on our part as a player to show her at her best. I saw someone play her on Samurai, was a thing of beauty but I'm nowhere near their level... need another decade at it to get decent xD

If you had a character like happy chaos which is a shooting arcade game character, may as a SeaWorld pirate, justice as a gundam character, jam as a kungfu character, faust as a toon character, Johnny ur cool cowboy , testament as a grim reaper, Zappa as a horror game character and chipp as a ninja. This is a game where adults look like child (may) and child look like adult (dizzy).
Just" holding up "is an understatement,it is honestly better than all the current morden anime fighter. The only anime fighter than can challenge xrd,is ac+r or BBCF(which I think is actually not only Arcsys best game,but the best anime fighter ever). Hopefully UNI 2 comes close to this.

The Rev2 discord is still quite active with matchmaking, I'd highly recommend joining since they've got options for all skill levels. Iirc the official lobbies are wonky for whatever reason and the only way to play matches is through player rooms, which is why the online seems so dead.

The worst part is that it seems to be an endless cycle. Xrd got shat on for not being +R and now strive is getting shat on for not being Xrd. It wouldn’t surprise me if a decade from now strive players will be lambasting the next game in the series. What did you expect? Arcsys sold out and abandoned their previous player base when creating Strive,in order to get more casuals. It worked,good for them GuiltyGear is no more "niche",but don't expect people who preferred the old gameplay to be happy just because Arcsys threw them a bone and gave xrd rev2 rollback. I genuinely can't understand how anyone can play and watch ac+ and/or xrd,then play and watch Strive,and somehow find Strive better and more interesting. The main fighting game I play is Tekken, which is a much slower and more traditional fighting game, so I had some trouble getting into anime fighters at first. However, Strive helped me learn anime fighters and bridge the gap into others because it's slower and simpler while still retaining that anime flair. Don't misunderstand though, I have tried +R and Xrd, and there are mechanics that I wish Strive would've kept, like face up/face down oki timings, burst supers, force breaks, etc. Ultimately though, there's are things that I like and dislike about each iteration of the franchise, so I'm glad Arcsys has given the older games rollback, which actually segueways into a question I have for you. What exactly would you want Arcsys to do? If rollback isn't enough what more do you want? I assume a new game that plays like +R or Xrd, however, that probably won't happen anytime soon. This game holds up amazingly well with current gen anime fighters

I prefer so much Xrd Rev 2 to Strive. At least you can focus on the game whithout an annoying huge HUD popping during the match.
