We went down it on a long weekend in Victoria and there were more 4wd's than in a Woolworths car park on a Saturday morning.
Much better when they all went home though.
Many fond memories with friends from the Suzuki and Subaru 4WD Clubs (SA) in years gone by! 🙂
Did this track just after the floods closed all the parks, when they reopened. Serious bog wholes at the southern end. Easily passable with thorough checks and careful route selection. That desert slop dries rock hard on every component.
Yeah I did it in April this year, should have taken Red Bluff Rd out but we pushed on and tried to navigate the big holes. We ended up stuck in one gnarly one, managed to get out then we had to backtrack about 20kms back to an exit road.
We did this track about 6 years ago when things were dry. Those bog holes were empty except for a bit of slop in the bottom. One of them was 2 meters deep and the slop under the crust in the bottom swallowed a good sized stick....... Driving into that when full of water would be deadly. Do they ever fill them with a dozer?
When are u hitting the limestone coast, be good to say hi?
The wombat holes are caused by stupid traction control vehicles, whether they have low pressure or not.
