*EDIT - I Went back and checked the handles like a lot of you guys said, and sure enough STERLING BABY! So this number in the video is even higher! JUST INSANE! I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY! Other than a brick of cash, I don't know what else to even expect from this storage unit! It's just been one CRAZY ride!
I just love the way Amber gets so excited about throwing hangers😂😂 this unit has got to be one of the best units I've seen. Knifes, watches, boom booms💥🔫, gold, and all kinds of awesome things!!!!👏👏💓 This was an excellent purchase for you all!!!!!
I have been collecting silverware for 10 years, The knife blades are almost always stainless, Silver is too soft for cutting, handles may be sterling. Individual pieces with a sought after pattern will bring much more than melt value.
FYI: with sterling silver sets, it is very rare that the blade of the dinner knife is silver, however, the handle usually is sterling. The reason for this is that sterling is a very soft metal, not good for lots of cutting. With vintage or older silverware, sterling or silver plate, the whole sets together can bring you more than the weight is worth. I have a silver plate set, from 1910, and the forks are worth between $5 and $10 each. You may do well to keep the set together and sell that way rather than for the weight.
The silver set you found has knives you're tossing as stainless, but the knife handles may well be silver. They don't make knife blades in silver, so they could be a combination. Look at the patina on the handles. Probably same as all silver pieces.
I love u guys...u are almost the only ones who actually show us stuff.most show the clothes one by one even though they r junk to waste time.keep it up
I really love when you get these bigger units and do a series of videos! Keeps me coming back to see what else you found! Awesome finds guys! Congrats on the epic score!
I used to sell kirby vacuums and they are great, but pricey. Even the attachments will sell for a decent price. Commenting as I'm watching, so hopefully you find the vacuum.
I’ve bought 2 of those Kirby vacuum’s the first one I left with my ex husband and I should of took it because I had to buy another one years later. 😂 They are good vacuum’s.
The stainless steel is also known as flat Wear and can and can be worth something. I am happy that you checked the handles of the knives because it is a set.
To make sure they're silver you have to look for those with a sterling mark or for coin silver marks, some silverware is silver over copper and won't stick to a magnet. It's a really good find since so many silverware sets have been broken up or melted down. You also need to check and see what patterns they are as certain patterns of silverware are very expensive.
I found about you two when I watched "what's the hales." I like them a lot. But I truly enjoy watching you and your wife more. Keep up the great videos.
Wow !!! The good finds - the awesome storage unit - the energy and the positivity coming from both of you is totally infectious !! Gonna check out Poshmark gonna check out eBay - most important can’t wait for the auction Saturday !!! Great content - can’t wait for the next video !!!
Jebus, look into the Westmoreland Silver company, dates back to early 1800's. The silverware sells for big money for a serving set. That is 1 knife, salad fork, dinner fork, soup spoon and teaspoon. Replacements ltd buys them for resale
Get the silverware appraised. My family had a sterling silver set that was appraised at $12,000+ (this was at least 10-15 years ago), and unfortunately a family member ended up PAWNING it for the SCRAP value. Sterling is 92.5% pure silver, but the antique set we had was worth FAR more than the melt value. Happy for you guys, Merry Christmas!
The colonial ceramics are made from molds that were probably from the 30’s and 40’s. Friend’s grandmother used to have hundreds of molds…all discontinued
Fantastic finds .Just to let you know those knives are not for butter , they are fish knives.Great video, I always laugh when Jebus gets excited. You have a cheeky face.Take Care.🏴🥰
Make sure to check the syringes for an expiration date. Many syringes have a coating on them that make them easier to insert. Using expired syringes can lead to painful injections, especially for us diabetics who have scar tissue built up after many years of injections.
Please check the jewellery at 26.28 as asian gold didnt have markings until a few years ago. And its pure gold thats why its so bright and yellow usually 22 or 24k x
FYI please check the pockets in the men’s suits. Some people hide their extra big bills in suit jacket pockets. Easy to remember where you put them. Good luck!!
Maybe the "G room" could be The Guest room or the Grand room in some houses they used to have The Grand Living Room just taking a guess lol. Awesome unit great treasures.
Silver ( fine metal) is measured in Troy ounces. Different than 16 oz/pound. Only 12 Troy ounces in a pound of silver so numbers will come out differently.
But if the scale is set to ounces, it will give the ounce weight. If you set the scale to troy ounces, it will give you the troy ounce weight. The weight is the same regardless, it's just measured differently. A different unit of measure doesn't change the weight of the object you are weighing.
That is an awesome find on the silverware. Just remember, sterling silver is only .925 silver, and not pure .999 silver. Therefore, your scrap value is slightly lower, but the silverware value is probably the same as before.
Okay I found one of your videos by accident, now I return almost four times a day to watch older videos as a pop up on my recommended since I've watched previous videos. I have been watching hoarders and somehow looking up things about clutter clicked on a $1 yard sale thing and was like oh what this about and then I was like why do they have all the stuff they're selling for a dollar or less. Then I saw videos about the storage unit and now I keep coming back damn it now I'm hooked
The minute you say you hear rattling and hope it could be coins your mother's hand goes towards the box like she can't wait to see how much money is in there lol 🤗 love watching your videos from the UK London hope you hit the jackpot x
27:55 $130 used $200 new I buy and resell electronics. Also, one thing I noticed is that the dates on the eBay listing were all over the place. It would behoove you to search by the most recently ended first.
30:50 LE Mason of Boston MA copper coasters sell for $5 to $15 each depending on the design. Old video, but I'll comment anyway. I wish I could still do this on a regular basis, but I'm 70 and not in very good health. Lots of people have commented on the silverware below so I won't add anything there, except to say there should have been a drawer at the bottom of the case for things like the cake/pie slicer, serving ladles, and butter knives. I need to watch some of your more in-depth unboxing of when you get home. Don't automatically discount clothes, at least learn the designer labels and learn to recognize vintage clothing. Sports clothes, tanks, jerseys, and jackets sell well, hats and caps not so well unless they are brand new. I've watched too many videos so I'm getting them mixed up. One box you opened had clothes on hangers with the cleaner's plastic still on them, worth checking out just because of that. One had what looked like a Japanese kimono, maybe silk? One jewelry box with mostly junk had a pair of Japanese or Chinese hair sticks or pins. I've seen several vintage evening bags which often do well. Don't automatically discount costume jewelry. I saw what looked like a vintage necklace of faceted crystal, not worth as much as gold but it all adds up. High thread-count cotton or satin sheets in the original packaging sell well. Blankets are usually trash but I hope you already know that hand sewn quilts have good value and sometimes very good value depending on the pattern. I know you have been doing this for several years and I'm sorry if I'm pointing out things that you already know. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it is the little things that can make a marginal unit profitable, not just the high dollar items. Here's hoping that all your units have guns, gold, silver and cash but remember that it is the little things that add up.
Jebus, Hi! You probably know by now...but silver set in a box that says STERLING is split silver! The matching knives to the set are silver handles! It’s just the blades that are stainless....because the blade has to be sturdier to cut, and hold an edge. That set you got could be very valuable. Match up all the same pieces ( like pile of soup spoons, or forks, etc.) then come up with a total number of pie see ....68 or 70... let serving pieces seperately! I think you have real value here. Keep the set together...more valuable that way. Good luck.
I don’t think you’re gonna get this comment because this video is from a few years ago, but if I remember correctly, the handles on the knives are silver, and the blades are always made of stainless to the best of my knowledge. Great guys keep up the good work.
The gray thing with folded flaps in one of your videos is a car trunk boot to protect trunk from getting dirty I a Saw boot on the three part criminal. Unit
That green soda bottle labeled "Ting" is a Jamaican 🇯🇲 citrus soft drinks made exclusively from Grapefruit... it's great when u want to open up ur appetite.
Definitely a crazy hunting 🤩🤩🤩These beautiful silverware reminds me of my grandmother, wish I could have them, is there any possible I could buy some from you, I will appreciate.
sterling silver is 92.5%, and fine silver is 99.9% the price of silver is fine silver...not meant to be a downer. The sterling silver may be more valuable if it is collectible. I enjoy watching your videos, looks like so much fun!
The knifes will have Stainless on the blade. But the handle matching the rest will be silver. The stainless has to be labeled. Bouncing silver only dents and hurts it. Good Score!
God bless you and your family and another great video and thanks for sharing and wow that’s amazing on that silver that has been a great unit so far and great finds to keep them great videos coming and I send you and your love ones lots of blessings and I’m still thinking about your wedding it was so beautiful blessings to you all
Jebus, Sure wish you would take the diamond knife sharpener you found in the last video to sharpen that dull knife you are always using. A dull knife is often more dangerous because you have to pull so hard to cut through that dinosaur strong tape. Having said that, great find on the silver set, and you will have a really good knife selection to part with in this and other live auctions from this unit. Way to go as we near the end of the year. Looking forward to the rest of your video series this year.
41:00 check and see if the handles of the knives are silver if they are the same pattern. It is not that hard to pull the stainless steel blade out of the silver handles
Most quality silverware knives will have stainless blades, but silver handles. Back in the day, a set with stainless blades was much more sought-after, as they would never rust. Fine dining!
When the flatware set is sterling silver but the knife blades will be stainless. You will most always make more money piecing out the set on Ebay rather selling the set together. Been in the vintage and antique business for over 20yrs. Also look at the metal lanterns some go for decent money if they are vintage Coleman kerosene ones.
Could G room be Granny's room. I was wondering with the rings when you find them with no marks could they have been re-sized my wedding ring was re-sized so has no markings.
In silverware sets, the knife blades are stainless steel and the handles are silver - otherwise, the knives wouldn't be of much use as knives. They'll make the butter knives out of all silver. You can definitely get higher than scrap value for that set - in the auctions around here, good-quality sets are usually bid up to about 2 times the silver value. At $20 an ounce, that's good money.
I remember my Mom & Dad had a silveware set and it always had to be polished. I don't think today's generation bothers too much with those kind of sets. I could be wrong
I have bible just like the big white one, which belong to my parents. They have been gone 40 years, had at least 13 years before that .my folks is like new.got excited.😅😅
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ THAT SILVER IS A SERIOUS MONEY POT!!!! THIS UNIT IS PROVING TO BE A SERIOUS MONEY MAKING UNIT!!!
Whoaaa amazing!!🥳🥳
On silver knives the blades are stainless steel BUT the handles are silver!!!!
@@MichaelGray-xn6dh that's true
I just scrolled to the comments to advise you to check the knife handles but see you've already been told lol
I'm on my husband's phone! I love to see Jebus get so excited! It's great and congrats again on your wedding! Keep it up young couple!
Did he check the handles on the knife blades
I have been collecting silverware for 10 years, The knife blades are almost always stainless, Silver is too soft for cutting, handles may be sterling. Individual pieces with a sought after pattern will bring much more than melt value.
I was sitting here saying the blades are stainless usually handles are silver
I'm here I'm here Jebus and Amber!! I'm ready for more of this EPIC UNIT!!!
Awesome!!
Knives handles will be silver
Hey Jebus, I am going all ape watching you open those boxes. Please put some edge on that knife😅😅😅. I enjoy your videos.
FYI: with sterling silver sets, it is very rare that the blade of the dinner knife is silver, however, the handle usually is sterling. The reason for this is that sterling is a very soft metal, not good for lots of cutting. What a great unit! So happy for you guys. I really liked the bigger storage unit and being recorded in segments. Hope you do this again.
You are my go to when I’m coming from work and need some down time. Love the unit. So glad you are back in Virginia.
Many "modern" sterling knives had blades made of stainless and the handles were sterling. Be sure to check the handles
cool whats your commission lol
Was just about to tell him the same.
Lots of stuff is also just plated
If it has no stamp its probably not fully made of silver
G room= Guest room. We use our guest room for extra storage and the air beds, sheets and comforters , and all of the blankets would explain a lot.
I didn't think of that I thought groom as in male bride one of us is right probably yoursekf
I'm loving it! It's awesome! Thank you Amber and Jebus, but why do people watch and then hit the thumbs down? Keep it up you two!

Damn that’s an awesome score in silver. I might just have to go through my nanas old utensils and see which are silver. Have an awesome week ahead 🇳🇿😊

OK you've got me hooked on this unit. I have a hunch the person went to the hospital, nursing home and someone was hired to pack up the house.

Just watched your auction and that Michael Kors watch was a great find $250 at Macy's ($118-187 used)
That’s silver spot price it’s not the price of sterling silver which is 92.5 silver.

I was thinking the same thing
Could mean Games room !
Jebus... I need to pick up one of those comforters from you. Preferably that beige one... I'm freezing my butt off here!! 🤣

Yeah, they may be old but I couldn't tell from the quick glance.
