People complaining about the weight the athletes are lifting. Sure, they can lift a lot more. But what's the goal? The description of the video literally says they have a match in a few days. Does anyone think these guys will go for a 1RM session 3 days before an international match? I'm pretty sure most teams won't risk their players having brutal DOMS that don't allow them to perform at their best.

@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns I don't see why a push up competition wouldn't be regarded as a sport given the dictionary definition of the word. Those lifts aren't just exercises if you're working towards 1 rep maxes in only those lifts. Someone could just as easily say that running isn't a sport, it's a form of exercise. Any distinction is going to be arbitrary.

405lbs IS nothing. Plus he was half repping - back of the ankles gotta touch your butt and you have to PAUSE at the bottom for 10 seconds, otherwise the rep doesn't count

I’ve been dying for a decent facility in Tokyo that allows drop with bumpers for weightlifting movements but most gyms here pretty strict about metal noise.
I don't know if any gym worker is gonna walk in to the all blacks and tell em to keep it down lmao. Besides they probably booked a place

I agree, mixing a pull with a push is always odd. However they're most likely fitting this gym session in between training and are trying to hit as many body groups as they can whilst maximizing on time
