I've tried various big brand type slings but these are the best slings for me. I currently have all three (LW, MW and HW) and used these for almost 3 years now. Simple design that doesn't break, sturdy fabrics, logical movement of the pull tab when extending and the correct amount of bullshit.
Thank you, great to hear! It seems we pretty much nailed it with these. PS: if you find the time, please go and give them reviews on our website, doesn't require creating an account or anything. And you can even upload photos!🙏
Thanks! We do have our logos engraved in the adjustment buckle, this offers absolutely no functionality but adds that little pinch of needed for a "low (but not zero) bullshit" design.
Thanks for the video, I actually finally figured out how to tighten the sling back up one handed, by watching it and analyzing you guys' technique. I just couldn't quite understand it any other way. Really love the design! It's one of the most stable friction-buckle slings I've tried, but extends instantly. I also have the front tri-glide as close to the buckle as possible, so if I just grab anything dangly and pull, the sling always extends, no matter what I grab! There are some women out there who think all kinds of other things work like that, though...
6:14 "low-bullshit" I love how this implies there's at least some bullshit in every tool/equipment from any manufacturer, this just has especially low levels of it lol
I love how the videos end with a still pause, a static look and a music jingle that gives a feel like an NPC from a video game waiting for you to stop farting around in your inventory.
Seeing how we have compulsory military service for male citizens here in Finland this actually applies to the absolute majority of businesses here. But thanks, we do try to stay solid in all that we do!
As Finland is in the Arctic, and I naturally assume Savotta's gear is tailored to handle such conditions. Are your slings and other gear, namely bags, suitable for opposite conditions? Say the desert or tropical regions? I live in a very hot and humid region with temperatures rarely reaching -5C with little to no ice/snow in winter. Average temperatures in my region range from -5°C in winter to 38°C in summer
Haven't heard that anyone has had any problems with our gear in deserts or jungles. Environmental things mostly affect design choices, whilst the materials we use are mostly, at least in load carrying equipment etc., the same that are used to make gear for any other climates/environments. In some cases "made for arctic" stuff can be pretty neat in a desert environment, as our stuff is made to withstand snow and mud (the slider buckle on the Griffin Slings here is a good example) they also work well with sand. Some really jungle-specific gear on the other hand might have much more water drainage features than our gear has, or might otherwise be designed to work better when wading through rivers and marshes.
I was wondering, what is the shortest possible length of the HW (without cutting)? I am considering purchasing this for improving the strap on the Keikka and other sling bags which have less than stellar straps. Also, would you recommend it as a replacement to the shoulder strap for the Keikka (50L in my case) for more comfort? Thanks!
Is that a coincidence or not? How do you explain it? I was just browsing Savotta's web site today about the Griffin sling MOD for my AR-15 pistol and just tonight You Tube showed me this video as recommended! Amazing. Love you guys. Question: how can I order a belt from US?
Yep, just attach both ends to one point. The MW and HW aren't too good for this though due to the pad length, but the LW and MOD work better: th-cam.com/video/sMkSAN4jSO0/w-d-xo.html
Will there be different variants of the Griffin slings? for example one for survival? as in could I potentially use it to slug a metallic ball or a rock off the ground?

The minimum is the cushion dimension, 73cm. Of course, you can use the Griffin as a shoulder strap for your Keikka if you find it helpful.

You can get those Griffins e.g. from Varusteleka.
Did u think to produce some slings for DSLR cams? It would be great
No, not really our thing. You might be able to rig one of these to fit a camera though, but we haven't tried that.
can it fit the FN FNC sling?
No... these are slings, slings don't "fit" other slings.
Nice sling, like how it slides forward to extend. Will check it out at Varusteleka.
