This was definitely the best night for make it happen! She did great. Amazing confidence. She also went for the high note in the main chorus section over the playback which is awesome! Although she struggled a little, it shows she’s confident and she’s still able to hit her high notes. And it’ll also help her voice get used to the highs again.
It's definitely progress and amazing that she can sing such tough parts and has the confidence to do it in full voice rather than default to falsetto. I just wish she didn't have so much of that unhealthy rasp though but more clean vocals. The rasp is from too much air leakage of the vocal cords it sounds like rather than intentional. I'd rather she didn't have the whistle tone because then her full voice and belting would sound better. She only has the whistles when her vocal cords are inflamed she's said.
Damn she killed it! People don’t realize our vocal cords get older too, specially after using them night after night like Mariah did for many decades! She is a legend

Right every time she opens her mouth “oh she’s lip syncing” while most of her haters probably can’t hold a note to say their lives. There's definitely a combination of live singing and lip-synching going on. There's an inconsistency in voice quality during "Fly Like A Bird". You can hear in the beginning, her voice has some of that raspiness in it. However, when she gets to the chorus, it disappears. It then returns when she sings "I need you right here by my side" at 2:14 and again at 2:37. Lastly, at 2:40/41, we see her enthusiastically mouth the "Don't" for "Don't let the world", with no sound as she quickly catches herself to mouth her ad-libs. Even her mic control is somewhat off. At 2:32, we see her belting very close to the mic. She typically would have been pulling the mic away from her face for such a belt. Anyway, just my little analysis that I felt that I would share.

The thing for me is I do t understand the true root cause if the steady decline. Ppl keep saying vocal nodules and aging but I feel there is more to it. In the latter point there are singers considerably older than her whose voice is more stable and stronger. Love this lady and her impressive catalogue but it is difficult to reconcile where she is now to the woman we knew vocally on the first album. I would never have guessed this outcome in a million years. Still love and appreciate her nonetheless.

This is very sad for me to listen. So many parts is pre-recorded.
She’s very struggling. I hope that her voice will be back cause now it’s not in a good place.
Too bad she's using so much playback from the album version or pre-recorded in these recent Christmas concerts since her vocal conditions are not in good shape.They were better in the Christmas concerts of 2019. I wonder if an international artist of his caliber has asked for the guidance of a good phoniatrist, vocal coach, since her vocal performances live have been fluctuating for years, sometimes very mediocre.

She's the one and only Mariah Carey. she may have sang it differently in her younger year's but even now with her voice techniques still nobody can copy her powerful voice i bet not even the bitter people who commented here 🤣

1:59 caught right there. That’s my thing with her. Why does she still perform these overtaxing songs if she’s going to lip synch these!she needs to perform songs within her vocal range.
I’m a “HONEST” lamb, but how is it that your fan base even knows the parts of the song that you sing and lip sync by looking at your face? It’s just embarrassing😞
Her voice and instrument is so damaged . I know we love her but it just doesn’t sit right with me when I hear her sound like this .
The thing for me is I do t understand the true root cause if the steady decline. Ppl keep saying vocal nodules and aging but I feel there is more to it. In the latter point there are singers considerably older than her whose voice is more stable and stronger. Love this lady and her impressive catalogue but it is difficult to reconcile where she is now to the woman we knew vocally on the first album. I would never have guessed this outcome in a million years. Still love and appreciate her nonetheless.
She just sounds a bit throaty but she sounds great and prove ppl that she can still sing live!
