Just to answer a few of the questions here: Glenn Lau made the precursor to Bigmouth Forever in 73. Title was Bigmouth, made entirely on & in the Silver Springs River. There was never a film made just for Smallmouth. He made a great film about Coho fishing in Lake Michigan. That was the early 70’s, before Bigmouth. Prior to both of them, he made at least one film while fishing for Arctic Char & other fish on his many trips to Great Bear Lodge, above the Arctic Circle. He also traveled a lot thru Ohio,Michigan and a few other places touring, fishing and filming as The Shakespeare Guide. He traveled checking fishing conditions etc and would do both Radio & TV spots to report his findings. He traveled in a large motor home towing his boat behind. In his earliest of days, Glenn was a hunting and fishing guide on Lake Erie. He was Named Lake Erie’s Living Legend and was the cover story of I believe, Sports Afield. If not, it was Outdoor Life. I hope that answers a few of your questions.
What a great Documentary, really loved the lure/bait action under water. Thank you for posting this video and of course the production team, thank you!
It’s so wonderful to see how all these outdoor people care so much for the conservation of our wildlife and our planet. Take only pictures, leave only footprints. 😊
This place looks like the Rainbow river I fished a few years ago. The water was so clear that you could see everything especially the giant bass and the schools of bass. The wouldn’t hit anything but small crappie jigs on 4 pound test line. But it was the absolute most beautiful river I have ever seen in my life. Love these old videos and wish they were more of them
Hermoso documental, yo lo compre en cabelas' o en academy (no recuerdo bien) en 1999 en vhs y me aficione mas a la pesca deportiva, los felicito. Y recuerden....pesca y libera. Saludos de monterrey n.l. mexico
It’s hard to find old films. And then when you do good part of the time they want to charge too much for them. But that’s the territory you get in when you’re looking for a good old documentary or a movie but I appreciate you for doing that man. Do you have a great day can’t wait to see you next video
In Southern Africa the Florida bass has is a beautiful fish to catch They’ve done well here. Huge bass in Zimbabwe and Swaziland and South Africa. An incredible fish We love them. I love catching them and often eat younger bass. Beautiful fish to eat
didn't even know u had posted this I had watched this a long time ago on someone else's channel an man I was like in a trance intrigued at everything they where saying. I learned so much from this video back in the day and come to watch it every here an there and still love it lmao also the bass professor straight classic's.
hey fishin with gramps i noticed on the other guys live stream you asked if i was from north or south ohio its north, i tried everything from texas rigs jigs top water whoopers and just cant seem to get bites, im bank fishing small lakes and ponds i caught 1 like half pounder last year and none this year yet idk if im useing bad colors or what any advice will be much apricated
I'm in southern Indiana, not to awful far from Cincy. I was going to suggest watching some of my on the water fishing vids to see if any of the water I fish looks like yours. Maybe help out a little.
@@FishinwithGRAMPS yeah ill def check out some of your videos an try to use some infos you put out its alot closer then alot of the other guys putting out videos and will prolly help me more for my area, thanks man keep it safe ill let you know how it goes and make sure you give you credit when your info helps me
Try some Zoom Flukes. Buy white and green pumpkin colors and rig weightless on a EWG hook. Cast them under trees and around other overhangs that create shade. Pop your rod to make it dart and let it fall to bottom and then pop it again. You can rig a small split shot weight above the fluke to get a faster presentation. The morning hours and early afternoon is the best time to use this strategy. Hope you get on them soon!
Did not know there are school bass & solitary and bass. This might be true for larger lakes and resivors. True good equipment, casting styles are a matter of gaining experience. Video suggests moon is dominant factor. No, it is just a factor. Old film, there is new information.
the best is ProCure Trophy Bass series, it glues to plastics and hardbaits the same, very messy though my boat is full of it up front lol@@FishinwithGRAMPS The mix is shad, minnow, crawdad, and worms
I am now a graduate of this course, thanks fellas. Fish 🐟 🐠 🎣 🐡
Used to watch his show on tnn when i was a kid. The underwater footage was amazing for its time.

An excellent documentary.
Nothing like hooking into a giant large or small mouth bass !
Just WOW!
I remember when they shot this on the Rainbow River.
Like comment, 'fishing (especially bass fishing) , is euphoric whether you are 4 or 94
GREAT FILMMAKING
Love it
Is there a remastered version of this documentary?😅
Not that I know of, but that would be cool!

Did this guy ever do a smallmouth documentary?
I will hunt around and see
@@FishinwithGRAMPS you are the bomb!
The question about a strictly smallmouth bass… the answer is no. I added a few insights about his films on the comments up above
"Check out Old School Bass Fishing Vids for more" no videos there boss.

Ban the livescope
Nah
Where was this filmed?
I don't know, this was an old documentary

Does anyone else get a little brain skip when you hear "big mouth" 😂

of course the bass let it go......your not setting the hook lol...they would swallow a senko if you let them
Did you watch the vid?
@@eskees9498 duh
@@davecfishing7907 I'm just saying that the whole point of that sequence was to highlight the importance of setting the hook.
Fishing a place it’s not private or public and everybody else is fishing there I guarantee you won’t catch anything no matter what you throw
Weird, fish around tournament boaters all the time and catch fish
