For anyone wondering, this is known as the "forced swim test" and is used to assess depression in mice. I've done it before, although you take them out after a few minutes and they do stay alive.
Edit: since many are misinterpreting, again, in the forced swim test you take the mice out after only 6 minutes, and they do survive.

Try new things even if it’s stupid, you can become a mess for a year, and let life guide you to an extent, but don’t tell yourself lies, and know that shit will haunt you if you do, confront the past, and accept it, or try to change it. If you’re addicted take breaks, be open, and practice meditation, even if through ambient music.

Just think about how many people choose to die, that alone should give some perspective. And the world doesn't exactly vibrate that "tomorrow will be your best day ever" energy.

It wasn't just faith. The rats were in panick and probably drowned from gassing out in 15 minutes while the second time they conserved their energy and lowered their heart rate. Anyone that knows you can swim fast for a couple minutes and gas out but if you wade water and control breathing you can swim for hours.

I like that you're trying to make this a motivational thing. However, you should also include the fact that it was only the domesticated rats that lasted that long. The wild rats had negligible change in time spent swimming.
