    Customizing cars the way you did this one and the post apocalyptic vehicles is an art. You are definitely the best in the diecast customization field.

    Miraculous custom. Amazing work with Windows & interior. Lovely weathering and the wheels finish it perfectly. I'd like to see you do a '58 Plymouth Fury - Christine - in any stage of construction (or deconstruction!).

    Top job Danny! It looks like someone tried to strip the body without disassembling it and melted the windows and interior in the process. Nice to see this one get the custom rat rod treatment.

    ERTL made some of the best diecast cars by far. I have two of these '57 Chevys and the '70 Cadillac. Awesome job on this car and the patina is amazing!

    I had one of these as a child (circa 1975-80), and when I got mine, it came in a 6-pack along with a blue 1957 Thunderbird and a red 1963 Corvette. I don't recall the three other cars in the package--I probably traded those. But I kept the Chevy, Tbird and Vette for decades. Personally, I love how you refinished this. Fabulous job.

    I'm not one for ratted out vehicles but I really like this one. It looks great and an awesome way to revive it and show the detail in the casting. Nice job!

  • @android_4420
    @android_4420 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ertl, rhymes with turtle. I just did a custom dirt track racer with this casting. I had the windows and interior, but no hood. It is a very detailed casting.The very faint Chevrolet across the trunk is hidden by most paint coats, like the original paint. When I repainted it, I could see it under the primer, but not the top coat. YOU did an amazing job on the wear details, very inspiring. I'd advise sticking a flat black block of craft wood in the engine bay so you can't see daylight through the wheel arches. The original plastic piece blocked it out. Cheers.

    You really have done a knockout job of giving the car the beaten up look. Probably your dislikes are from purists who maybe can't see outside the box to often. Love the idea of taking the parts from the less interesting motor and giving this makeover a great twist. Keep up the good work, you have another subscriber who likes what you are doing

    Nice to see how all of the different die cast customizers on YT vary so much in their techniques. I really enjoyed the video and picked up a few tips for my own projects. A couple things I would have done different is to have added some “original” paint over part of the body. I think it would look better not to have the car completely rusted, you really don’t see such examples in real life driving around. I think it would have looked good to have ground some of the trim of of the car, most cars that old and in that bad of shape are missing pieces. Just a couple ideas, but I really like your technique for the rusting affect. Great job.
