What a mega haul! And here I sit in Kansas USA on a chilly, overcast, windy day wishing I could be there with you getting stung by the nettles, and we have them in Kansas and I hate them. You are my saving grace! Because of family health reasons I can't do things like that and I have no one who enjoys the thrill of finding old and dirty things. Oh well, I'll go with you and my other mudlarking friends every week! You and Kit and Caboodle are my favorites though! Please stay safe and be careful! ❤

The swizzle stick would make a lovely icicle Christmas ornament.
Also, I have a reprint of a 1927 Sears Roebuck Catalog. In it, under the glass ware, they show a refreshment set. It had a pitcher, and 6 ice tea glasses. Along with this , it had these thin glass tubes with a red bulb at the end.There was a hole in the bulb, and all the way through the stem to the top. These were called sippers, in other words glass straws.

I found a very interesting article on Wikipedia about the little Frozen Charlotte. Rare ones were indeed painted black! And there were some boys names Charlie’s!
The spiral blue and clear rod that Alex found could have been a swizzle stick, used to stir cocktails.

When I found mine a few weeks ago I was so happy but was alone with no one to share it with. Since you have a grinder you could grind the top of that flat back poison bottle and make it into a vase, or use it for making green beads. Nice that you have found the new location. I foresee many wonderful treasures that you will find. Happy hunting.

Don't make beads out of the swizzle stick - cut the stick into smaller pieces and make silver caps and loops and attach a delicate silver chain to either side and make pretty necklaces!

The glass stick could be a cane of glass that would then be cut to size and made into a swirled marble. Usually they are larger. But I have a set of three small marbles in graduating size from one cane of glass.
Next time you go there please take a shovel and a sifter tray. It is deep.

I would be as excited as Alex if I found a whole frozen Charlotte/Charlie too! The blue ink is sad, it's still so pretty, if you make it into beads they'll be amazing. The small green smelling salts bottle is my favorite shade of bottle green, I would definitely put that in the sill to catch the light. Glad to see Demelza in the air...
The glass jar lid works beautifully to keep pickled vegetables under the brine.
How wonderful. Great things found. Love the enthusiasm. If you have access to thin waterproof/plastic pants, you might not get stung in those nettles. They are relatively cheap. Magic!

Given how often you've noted partial Charlottes, a full one must be quite a find. The 'gutty' is fascinating and one wonders if you've started a 'gutty rush' in those parts. The drone definitely contributes to the overall - you have an instinctive knowledge of how to make videos. I remember a series of these films in which Mother Mudlark ruefully observed the difficulty in extricating daughter Mudlark from winter-stricken bottle dumps, so...Thank you for uploading.
I saw the stirring stick and wondered if you could add a top and make it into a candy cane decoration for the Christmas tree.

they used gutta percha to make mirror frames and picture framed for daduerotypes and ambrotypes in the mid 1800s. other items too

I adore the way Alex says “grown over” when describing the greenery. I see brambles and nettles, the Dump kelpies are planting stinging and thorny plants aplenty to keep the bonglies away. I watch every week for my wee dose of Scotland. I think because you are a mother and daughter duo, and I do things with my daughter, I love watching. I WISH I could spend an afternoon with you. We would bring the picnic!
The pudding dolls are similar to what the people of New Orleans Louisianna did during their Mardi Gras season. They made cakes and had parades during this season before Lent. Inside the cake, started out as a ceramic doll then turned to plastic(which were inserted after baking)there would be a doll and the one who got the doll in their slice had to bring the next cake. That was of course the French influence. I love hearing the history of the different items you find.
