Next to Ryu and Chun Li, Balrog has always been one of my most favorite Street Fighter characters to play as, and one of the most unique things about him is the fact that (at the time) he was the only character who doesn't use kicks for his attacks.
I remember Street Fighter II players back then being like: “He can’t shoot fireballs or kick! Who would pick him??” How proud those Balrog players must feel to overwhelm shocked players!!
Mike Tyson is cool enough that I'm 99% sure he would have allowed the use of his name and likeness if Capcom would have asked him. I would have loved to have seen Tyson being a real character in street fighter.

I have played the Japanese version and noticed the resemblance. But got shocked oof the name change both in movies and games.
good video but i think in street fighter x tekken the character you choose first gets to win in the credits. so when you play vega in first and balrog in second position, vega wins the pandora fight. you did the same mistake in the other street fighter videos. i am not completly sure if thats really true though. i just remember it this way.
I am curious why Balrog took Ed in and cared for the lad. His personality, I thought was just a person who loved money. The SF2 movie did give some personality to him.
Its "Versus". Not "Verse". "Verse" is a word used to describe lyrics in a song. "Versus" is a word used to describe individuals or teams competing against each other. You can't "Verse" someone.
Ahhh! I was thinking the same thing as I watched! I half expected to see the footage but, alas… He was one of the final bosses (if not the final) before Sagat (Who was the SF1’s big bad). Also: I think we’re showing our age here, bro! 😅
@@PhoenixBlack_741 oh absolutely. I ain't scared. Actually I played SF2 before I played SF1 ( I'm sure like a lot of people ) and I was convinced for quite sometime that there was no SF1 and they just called it SF2, like that was the gimmick. @@michaelowen6113 Both… But the pneumatic one was a bit weird. It was force sensitive (No, not in a Star Wars sense guys, calm down! Lol), as in it would depend on how hard you hit it, you’d get the correlating attack strength for punch or kick. I think the first of its kind…
@tebatso984 that's dumb , to make it equivalent they'd have to have all their white chapters stereotypes, which they're not. Most African characters are stereotypical joke. Most Caucasian characters are not.

TJ: *_"Man, think you got what it takes to Beat the Champ??"_*
Balrog: *_"You won't even make it to Round 2 Wimp."_*
Mike Tyson of the game 💪🥊🥊💪
He was last seen during the War of Wrath and became Durin's bane after that.
lol it still never made sense to me how they made him a good guy reporter for Chun Li in the 90s Street fighter movie
Nothing in that movie made sense based on actual SF lore. They just took characters from the games and gave them random back stories.
@jayb8934 This is true. I would love to remake this movie in the near future with each characters storyline from the video game intact
Balrog’s relationship with Ed really adds depth and likability to his character. Otherwise he’s just a 2-dimensional money loving brute.
Balrog the boxer=Mike bison(Japan)
Vega the assassin=Balrog(Japan)
M.bison=Vega(Japan)
He's Still Has More Intimidation Skills Than Apollo Creed and I like him
Balrog is one of the most interesting characters in the series, begining a straight up villain and years later into a mercenary / future anti-hero
I don't have a favorite. They are all amazing in their unique styles.
all of the characters of street fighter's?
@axelthouin4389 yes I like using them all. I try and figure out how to play them all.
Gotta go fast!
MIKE BISON!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱
i doubt Ryu and Ken are terrified of him but they did see him as a threat.

Great journalism great content
Sf2t is the only in the series I enjoy, just because it's the one I played, I've tried the others but never got hooked...
did... did you say "Street fighter 10 Tekken"? the X is for Cross, not 10
@dmontele-grammarvelousvideo What makes you think I'm stupid enough to fall for this idiotic scam?
Mike bison aka Mike Tyson

imaine when Daigo and other Japanese compete globally for the first time, they might have been confused with the name changes, NANI?

He and most black characters in street fighters are walking stereotypes of some part of African culture.
Every appearance up until SF 5 has been kind of insulting, I don't get why Mike Tyson did not sue.
What is African about there culture?
