Hands down my favourite guitarist for the last 30 years....I am still left speechless every now and then with some of his note choices...Sometimes it's like: "How the fuck did he find THAT note, right THERE???"
Because he doesn't think in terms of scales. He even explained that. He doesn't confine himself to shapes. He does what he wants and does it with such conviction that you'll buy it. If a beginner chose the same notes (without the vibratio just noodling along) you would think they just don't know what they're doing. You can use notes outside of the scale you'd have to play over any key and make it sound good. Use your ear and do it with conviction and you'll sound like him.
He’s amazing and that his whole motive. I’ve heard him say for 30 years he’s always trying to just pick better notes. He’s a endless lexicon of melody!
.. That LUCKY kid (from among the room full of other guitarists) who got to play Marty's guitar 🎸& that too right in front of Marty himself would surely cherish that moment all thru his life.... memories that would last till his last breath. Huh!! And i like the way the kid looked up at Marty, maybe for his approvals/reactions😅😂...
Everyone talks about Marty's speed or his awesome vibrato but what he does best is melody, he is first and foremost a melody writer all of his passages could be a great melody to carry one whole song but he will pick say 5 and add that " Marty sound " to work around and enhance said melody He is really one of the best at that , forget the " shred " concentrate on making singable melody lines.
A legend and one of the only remaining in this kind of instrumental music just great a truly artist in the studio and live not like the pop music or rap of today using all the time the auto tune or something
Actually because playing guitar takes talent and time in my experience I've practiced 2 years and half on electric guitar to be able to play lead with sense plus I'm not that someone who had no idea about it because I've been playing acoustic on and off since I was 14 . Imagine if you really are someone who just pick up a guitar for the first time, see that's the reason why people these days listen to something that doesn't take that much talent and effort hahahaha
Obviously not since it is the oposite way. Take it as you dont have to share with so many **** .. be glad you are where you are. I intentionally dont want to compare which "side" is better, as it realy is a losing battle. To each his own, as they say . peace my friend
It's funny because the Tornado of Soul's solo is embedded in Marty Friedman's soul so much that it is almost silly to even talk about. That's why he goes out of his way to be extra humble about it. It goes without saying.
Such a humble teacher. If Shawn lane and George Harrison explores India to find their inner music/self. Marty goes to Tokyo. Btw, what can shampoo 30 years? Lol
that poor kid, man. seemed like he was going to pass out. probably never playing on a stage before and all of a sudden hes on a stage playing in front of marty friedman with martys guitar being judged by a room full of guitarists haha
Always admired his playing. Notice he has an interesting pick attack style? It almost looks as if he is picking 90 degrees from his hand towards the strings at times.
He's given interviews where he's talked about it - it's because he really hated the sound of muted strings, so he rolled his hand forward to get the rest of his fingers and palm as far away from the strings as possible. It's actually a surprisingly comfortable way to play and lends itself well to his trademark arpeggiated patterns, but comes at the cost of being unable to mute the lower strings, so he has to be extra careful about playing cleanly.
Learning to bend without the help of a wammy bar since he was 2 and a half years old, Marty often went for his daddy's Les Paul plugged into a wah instead of crying. He would hit the wrong note, but it was just too cute, so his parents encouraged him to get a floyd rose guitar, but he insisted No, I can just bend like this, mom. At three, his hair was so long, they gave him stilts and put him on stage with deep purple, and nobody knew the difference. There are many legends out there you would never believe the true story, so they are never told.
ÁUß Code II and then he says something to his buddy Naoki, like “hey Naoki, you be the judge, eh. You be the judge.” Which I don’t really know what he means by that.

Friedman's Jackson sigs are awesome. If I wanted to be nit-picky, I'd say that the shards could be a bit larger, like on Paul Stanley's Iceman, but it's still a damn fine instrument.

Musical Genius & such a cool Cat !!!
It is refreshing and encouraging to hear one of the guitar gods talk about melody and songs instead of how to shred in another mode l👍🤣
Guy is cool as shit. Me him outside a plaid pantry in Portland oregon during the inferno tour. Would love to catch another show.

the best guitar of the world
I found comfortable while listening his playing👍

There are artists and bands who are doing instrumentals like this, but they do not get mainstream attention as much as the simple pop musicians get.
this man should be selling out big stadiums and these so-called "mumble rappers" should be the ones relegated to small audiences.
m because this dude actually has talent
Masses like 💩...Sad era for music 🤘☢🤘
Because the majority of the world is filled with numbskulls

Nice one - thanks for uploading!
He's a great teacher
Seperti mengembangkan gaya Bryan may tapi dengan lebih soulful dan teknik yang unik.
Does anybody know the first song he plays?

Amagi goe
I wonder what FX pedals he is using here? I’m not sure if he mentions that and I missed it or what but I’m dying to know.
The only pedal he consistently uses is a Mason auto filter.
That lucky bastard kid that got to play Marty's guitar.
Whatever, I have Marty's guitar strap. ;)
He knows how to play. Enjoy 🗿

Kokusai Samu maybe he wants Naoki's opinion on whether he needs "a little bit more" (7:16) of clean tone.
ÁUß Code II - Could be. I was thinking it might be “you be the judge [of whether or not these guys are a bunch of blithering imbeciles]”
@@TTyger Nah Marty isn't like that lol
This guitar is dope
