When I look at my phone’s screen I always try to put it towards a light source to see the patterns that emerge from either LED or other gases in the light source try it

is 6:50 i know it might be a weird question but the energy level come closer as we go away from the nucleus first and second energy levels are further apart from third energy level and fourth energy level . is there something to explain this or its just a photo ? thanks a lot it was very helpful !

Yes there is a reason. It’s about the energy level values and the follow Schrodinger equation and also de broglie hypothesis. Bit involved to explain here but there is physics behind it

@@PhysicsHigh Thank you a lot ! If i want to understand why , where do you suggest starting with ?

Maybe my videos. Start with Bohr, then de broglie then Schrodinger.

The calculations Balmer was doing, were the answer also showing the energy-level wherein the absorption/emission was taking place? I'm expecting an answer. It's an enquiry.

What Balmer did was identify that there was a mathematical relationship between the wavelengths of the hydrogen spectrum. He did not know the underlying cause. We now know theyre related to the transitions as per Bohr's model of the atom.
