@@theGMGuide depending on how it is used, the fog can almost be like a character itself. Natural, seemingly unnatural, or fully unnatural. Good, bad, other. Having awareness/consciousness or just a part of the weather. Etc
Great video! I love the ideas and the mysteries you can create using fog. Hidden trap doors would go nice with fog on the floor, dont you think? If the players spot the trap, they can lure the enemies into there which would be sick!
The campaign I am running right now has a lot of fog that has strong psionic energy associated with it, particularly along the coastal and island locations. It gets real interesting during combats occurring in early morning or late afternoon....
I have to fight the urge to make every encounter either foggy or rainy. 😂 those are my two go to’s. It’s all about the dark mysterious atmosphere for me. Here’s a thought though, do fog and rain have an equivalent “atmospheric” condition that can be used inside of dungeons?
I actually give any creature that has the Hold Breath feature. The ability to see through fog. So it's a neat trick to throw it out in combat. Unlike darkness, it can be blown away by wind, so there are fun work arounds for the players.
Yep. Use fog in lots of different ways - natural fog, unnatural fog, enemy casters casting obscuring spells, etc.
Another great video, GM!
Thank you😁😆
Thanks for sparking more ideas! Definitely need to consider intentional additions of fog to the environment.
Absolutely! I love using fog for the player's benefit.

@@stingman777 I would love a sentient fog
Great video. Really enjoying your channel.
I'm trying my best to get it ramped up. Thank you for your support.

Goblins are small, in the morning fog, with pit traps. Yeah totally down for that.
I haven’t yet. But my campaign has shifted to woodlands so thanks for the reminder
Nice

I love the idea of something more being associated with the fog, something changing, magic, psyonics, etc....

I started using deserts to combat my urge to do this also

Gust becomes an amazing spell
Like match the thig fog, misty morning in the village, the raptor dinosaurs and voilà 👌
Raptors in the corn field, now little mud monsters in the morning fog causing havoc.
