  • Most of my videos are about radio repair. Picked this car up from the insurance sale. Here's something else I repair from time to time.

Impressive turnaround! Your attention to detail for radios carries over here to the car rebuild. That TSX came a long way. And I agree, with "only" 160,000 miles it still has a lot of life left. Nice work!

Know this video is years old but couldn’t help but comment how much of an amazing job this was!

Acura TSX’s were always great affordable luxury machines. Thanks for putting in the work and documenting this beautiful restoration

Very tidy body job you did there, by the looks you hit it lucky with the chassis rails not being bent so the new front panel just slotted in to be welded in place. Good going and nice car! Interesting how quite some of us vintage radio repair/restore guys also have a knack of fixing cars on a higher level. You do, Shango does also, I do and I beleive Glasslinger is also tinkering around on an old Ranchero. About time I also posted a car repair vid ;-)
Cheers and all the best from Germany

Yeah if the rails were bent, I wouldn't have bought it. Thanks for watching!

Looks interesting. Kind of reminds me of the type of restoration Sam Crac does. You did a good job getting everything fitting together right. Looks like you're well on your way to getting your Acura up and driving again. Will it have a salvage title? Are you going to keep this car or sell it?
    Regards, Tom

Bought my 2005 tsx from a copart auction for $1000. Easiest car I’ve worked on. And it runs like new at 170,000 miles.

Wow I am impressed and now highly questioning my own personal 2008 Acura TSX that I bought very recently. My TSX does have a clean title and 0 reported accidents but I can tell paintwork was done in the front since the paint is much newer and there is a very small line where the old & new paint meet. The headlights are original and since mine is the 2008, the fog lights are original too. Now since the car has no reported accidents with a clean title from Autocheck, I’m really questioning whether the car was in a accident and someone invested thousands of dollars to fix it up since the whole suspension is new along with new struts, and looks like the radiator is new too since it’s all has markings on them with mileage. But I would assume that this would show up on maintenance and cosmetic history but I guess not.

Not all accidents are reported. Someone may have repaired it out of pocket.

I checked the engine bay & found welding , also found more parts that have been replaced since they are OEM brand new parts. I bought the carfax since the dealer I bought the TSX from had only Autocheck, CarFax has no reported accidents either and the car has a clean title. I bought the car for 8,500 (9,500 after California fees & taxes) , and I driven the car already 6k miles. I bought the car with 119k on the Odometer now I am at 125k. So far no major issues only a bad motor mount & replaced the VTEC solenoid. My dad who knows a good amount of cars since he was a mechanic for 5 years back in the late 80’s says they did a hella good job covering it up and using OEM parts. The car has only one previous owner (I’m the 2nd owner) and this was a expensive car when new so most likely the original owner paid thousands of dollars into repairing the car and sold it to auction then it found it’s way too the car dealership I bought it from

any issue with the passenger air bag did you reuse the one from the parts car or did you have to get a new one

How much did you end up paying for the car and what would be your estimate cost of the repair?
