As a healthcare worker who works over 40 hours a week and takes home roughly $1100 every 2 weeks after taxes, it irritates me when influencers act like their jobs are so hard. A job in general is going to take up your time. Don’t get me wrong, my job is rewarding to me, but the financial stress and mental drainage that comes with my job is no joke. Living paycheck to paycheck. Can’t get debt paid down, cause even with the little bit of extra money I save, it feels like not enough. It’s like I have to just let it keep adding up before I can pay towards anything or else I feel the stress of having hardly any money in my account after paying bills
I feel like as an influencer you have to remind yourself, you create your own schedule. You can wake up whenever you want. You don’t have a boss, besides yourself. You can actually GET a lunch break within an 8 hour time frame or even a pee break. You want to take vacation time, you have the freedom to do so or if you’re sick and need a day, you can take it. There’s so much to be grateful for with being an influencer
So, Michaela wakes up at 6 am, films for 6 hours, which bring us to 12pm, and edits for a few hours AND works on her socials for, what, one more hour? and then it's only 12pm. She truly didn't think her video through
In 2009 I was 19 and the recession made it impossible to find work. By 2010 I was on a navy ship in the Persian Gulf. Worked at least 12 hours a day in a windowless warehouse. My living space was a bed stacked 3 high, in a small room with 100 other dudes. 9 toilets and 6 showers for that 100, me being low man meant I cleaned all that and didn’t make $4000 a month. Conditions on the ship are not ideal, but it was preferable to when I went ashore in Djibouti and got mortars rained down on me. These “Influencers” should be more aware, there’s people out there pulling tricks and taking people’s lives for nowhere close to what they are making.
Thank you so much for making this type of video, it truly angers me when I hear or see this shit. Throughout the whole month of May, I was working full time hours to make up for being sick beforehand, I will continue to take up extra shifts here & there because I feel like it’s been doing me good, but I know I can’t overwork myself (I work in hospitality, in a castle) - I’m in my early twenties & I know I need to work goddamn hard to fund my future, I’ve already made minor sacrifices. These influencers need a reality check.
damn keep ur head up girl !! u gon get there soon :) enjoy life too. remember that. speaking from experience bc i’m in my early 20s too & ik how it feels.try not to compare yourself w these kind of ppl… the best thing to b is URSELF always :)
working full time (although mandatory for most of the population) isn't easy... whether mentally, physically or both, so in case nobody has said it to you recently... I'm incredibly proud of you (:
I am from Romania and here the minimum wage is around 460$ USD right now... Most of the jobs are very stressful and at the end of the day you are very tired and just want to sleep. Thank you for making this video first of all. Influencers sometimes forget about the normal people, like me, who work all day and at the end of the month can barely survive
I hate when influencers complain to their followers about their job, like we’re the reason you get money. It’s like complaining to your boss that you hate your job. Why should I want to watch you if you hate what you do
At least complaining about your job to your boss can actually change something if your boss is a good person that doesn’t like seeing you suffer. Influencers complaining to their followers about their job.. like what do you expect us to do? You chose this career path and you can choose to quit or make it easier for yourself by doing less work. Your job is not in our hands. We just watch.
I feel like you hit the nail on the head 100% Thalia! Some people out there are so out of touch with the real world that it’s honestly disgusting. And it sucks with how there are people that work 10-12 hour days and still struggle for housing, food etc. Meanwhile you got people that make a 30 second video and get thousands of dollars and then they sit there and complain about how that’s not enough. It just bugs me. How I see it personally if I was making thousands just by making either TH-cam vids or tik toks, I’d be super grateful and thankful to everyone and everything. Maybe that’s just cause I’m a humble guy but who knows. Anyways loved the vid, watching your videos is always nice and a pleasure to watch!!! 😊
I’ve been a sub since 2018 and I love all your content, but I really enjoyed this as well! You should keep it all on one channel if you do! And thanks for bringing light to this subject. It’s been so crazy to see how out of touch people are when there’s so much going on in the world rn
about the hayley thing,, it was also because during the met gala, rafah was attacked with bombs and families were being killed. she posted that around that time and celebrities were going to the met gala that's expensive but nobody couldn't donate money to palestine. someone also commented saying they couldn't afford cake and her response was "but you can afford a phone? i'm sorry i'm confused."
It's interesting to see a lot of the social media people from like 2015-2020 having to deal with getting jobs and entering the real world. Almost all thought they would be internet famous and rich forever.
I work as an admin and I bring home 2k per check, but I live in a city that is very expensive. 2k per check is not even enough to cover a 1 bed apartment (no I'm not in LA, I'm in SC). But because of my military service, I have a VA check, and I'm married to someone who makes a little bit more. He is the reason why I am able to live somewhat comfortably. But even then, we still gotta watch a lot of our money.
That content creator who was going to Korea, I saw another video about here. She was posting advertising the products from the supplier who was sending her to Korea several months before she actually said she was going to Korea. So her opinion was biased in terms of the review
I got sabotaged into getting fired from my 9-5 (a whole other story in itself) and don’t make anything from creating content (yet); but rather than find a new job, I spent three weeks trying to gain my job back (and did) because it was paying more than finding a new job, so starting from scratch was going to be much more difficult. Now my return to work is under conditions that overwork me more than I used to, but I have to get through it in order to make less than a handful more than a minimum wage here in California.
I’m a nurse. I work in the icu. My shifts are typically 12.5 hours 1845-0715 3x/week. I don’t even get paid 4K a paycheck. I’ve got a bachelor’s degree. I deal with crazy pts, irritable doctors, crazy family, crazy management, rude coworkers. Some shifts I don’t get to sit down for more than 10 min a time just to frantically chart. I’m running codes, trying to save people. I enjoy watching TH-cam videos like the rest of us, but yes. It’s pretty frustrating seeing influencers start to talk about money and how difficult their life is when you can tell by their lifestyle if they made better financial decisions they could easily fix their problems. I just want to add, I actually love my job most days. (I know it’s common for people to say “you chose this job, so don’t complain” but I don’t think people realize school doesn’t teach what being in healthcare is actually like. So I try to be empathic towards influencers when I see comments like “you chose this, get over it” bc I know words can cut deep and there are behind the scenes stuff we obviously don’t know.
Oooo, this video, is the video!!!! Please do a podcast about this type of subject, super interesting. I miss you girl so much, back and more gorgeous than ever! 🩷
Life is tough and I agree just getting by isn’t living it’s just surviving. I want to start creating content but I find it hard to balance it with working all the time and then coming home to take care of my pets. Not to mention trying to have a social life as well lol do you have any advice? Also I love your content ❤ I hope you’re having a great day Thalia!
The video’s style and the topics it covered were unexpected, but I loved it! I always listen with great enthusiasm to your opinions on various subjects, whether it's in your podcasts or your talking videos
i love this thank you for putting this out there and bringing it to light. there are many more topics on the other side of things that if i brought them to light as a company.., i'd get cancelled. influencers are really out of touch.. i hope this social media phase sizzles down
thank you so much for watching! i’m so happy to hear you enjoyed it & cancel culture is a whole other thing 🤦🏽♀️ social media is definitely bitter sweet. i hope you & your business are doing well ♥️
Hey Thalia!! 🍓🍰 I’ve been subscribed to you for over I wanna say 7 years now, I LOVED this video. You have no idea how much i appreciate it and feel it on such a personal level. I use to have an old TH-cam channel & I put all my time/effort into it. However, now I recreate content I enjoy and show my life online. THE Inflation here is Australia is also INSANE!! 🇦🇺 A big majority of people around my age 20-28 cannot afford a rental property/to move out of home 🏡 so it makes me and others my age really upset when we see influencers that are so out of touch when it comes to money. I really REALLY appreciate this video. Thank you so much for the loving reminder to keep going ❤️🔥🫶🏼🫠 you are so beautiful Thalia. Genuinely the purest human or “influencer” I know. remember you are human too 🩷
Content creation is hard but it’s worth the money more than some actually hard jobs . You can be an influencer and making money sitting at home relaxing after a few hours of work . Some jobs mean you’re not even free enough to enjoy the apartment you can’t afford to pay for.
thank you sm for this video ! alot of influencers choose to ignore that their peers are in the wrong so thank you !! i love you sm thalia im sending lots of love 💗
4,000 in an hour is definitely a dream for us hard workers.. it’s frustrating to tell you the truth. Thank you for making this video Thalia 🤍 Love ya lots I hope you’re doing well!
As a newbie content creator, like the first month monetized, working 9-5, I'd be happy to make $100 off my hobby in a month. The thought of making $4k on one post, especially a short/TikTok that only stays in the feed for a week, is shocking. That is so much money for something that probably only takes a couple hours to film and editing at most. (At least for me my shorts filming and editing maxes at 2 hours for the hardest edits)
I'm missing your try in hauls. Need ideas on how to style a skirt for the summer and I need your ideas! Love the idea for a second channel for you to voice your opinion and be real.
i clickeddddd so fast ong this is a topic that’s so interesting !! I LOVE U & IM SO GLAD U R TALKING ABOUT THIS & BEING REAL ( as n influencer/content creator ) 🩷
i would love to see you do videos like this and calling out this type of stuff or talk about tiktok/youtube drama if you make another channel, i'll definitely subscribe and watch! or even if you do crime videos again which i miss so much. you are 100% right about all of this, i just left my part time job today after being there for almost 7 months because the hours sucked and the reason why i chose part time was because of helping my ma take care of my grandpa. i was only getting paid $12 an hour and it wasn't enough for me to pay my bills. no matter how much i asked for more hours, i always got told excuses. it wasn't good on my mental health and on top of having to wake up at 4 am and go into work at 6, it's exhausting. but now i'm trying to look for a full time job so my boyfriend and i can find a used car that cost $1.5k-$3k and then an apartment that we can afford. groceries and gas are expensive but you have influencers out here complaining about $4k for one hour. they easily post a tiktok video and get paid, they have brand deals, etc. i would be happy to have $4k+. also there was a clip going around that went viral of charlie d(however you spell their name) was at walmart doing the cashing a customer out for a second clip and to me that was just uncalled for. being a cashier is one of the hardest jobs and it was not easy to do. to me it looked like she was making a joke out of us. also will you do any more movie reactions soon? i would love to see you react to horror movies lol. and btw, thank you for posting. life lately has been so stressful and trying to keep it all together. you posting makes it 10x better. thank you so much tal, love you
I’m am not even a Dixie fan but I just wanted to say that Dixie did not “complain” or say that she isn’t “making enough money”. She saying she doesn’t want to work and that ok I don’t think that anyone actually “wants” to work for the rest of their life so idk why people are making a big deal out of this situation it’s not that deep. And another thing is I don’t like when people compare things like she’s talking about how she doesn’t want to work, why are you saying people are in dept, student loans, people living paycheck to paycheck that doesn’t have to do with anything she said just because other people have bigger problems or concerns then hers that doesn’t mean she can’t talk about hers. And this is just about Dixie this is about everyone…
hii thalia i actually love these kinds of videos lately so im super down for you to get into the commentary side of youtube. the only thing that could make this better (for me!) would b the volume balance. some clips were rly loud and others rly quiet relative to your voice, so overall the volume kept going up and down and i kept trying to adjust the volume on my end but it was rly uneven. this is a tiny detail tho and i hope you keep making this kind of content. we are always happy to see you upload
Off topic but… I went to Coachella for the first time this year. I went in thinking the worst and I’d say I waited for 30mins max for showers. I slept like a BABY. We made food on our site and barely bought food at the event. Just in case anyone is thinking of going . I think in total I spent less than 1k which is a lot of money but I think you can definitely do it and spend even less c:
thank you for sharing your experience! I can imagine you slept REAL good after a long day in the sun filled with dancing around lol I'm glad you had a good experience. (:
I have to work 160 hours to make $4k- 160 hours… 😂 I’d kill to make that much by working an hour through a 1 minute long video. Crazy. Thank you for talking about this!
thalia your a queen and i hate british influencer anastasia kingsnorth that clip boils my blood like please go outside or read the news no one has a spare 1000 pound
Love you so much any type of video we love so much and I personally think this video is very important and also informational and just amazing love u so much
Great video, you’re so right Thalia. ALSo Canadians should vote conservative next election if we want the cost of living to improve and taxes to go down jusss saying. Americans should vote republican their next election too. Cost of living was way better before these current leaders. They ruined our economy 😣
Imagine getting a heart comment and reply my comment from you Thalia and I am so so so glad to see you back again and I wish you have a blessed weekend🥹🥹💗✨
The last girl Anastasia said £1000 for free delivery by mistake, obviously she meant £100 and she posted in her next video and on instagram apologising lol
Social media is a different animal now and changed after the pandemic. All these good looking kids were popping up Musically(now TikTok) and YouNow(the streaming app they were all on) and blowing up. They would get thousands in donations and were going on social media tours and drawing big crowds. It started around 2014 and lasted until the pandemic. The D'Amelios and Addison Rae were the last real big social media kids and even their time was short. Now most of them fell off and can't deal with it. Look at the sad case of Bryce Hall and the others like him. etc. Anyone remember Jacob Sartorius, Loren Gray, and Cameron Dallas? Mads Lewis who you talked about is another. They all go broke and can't deal with the real world. Most of them don't know how to deal with things once the fans and money leave. Many probably could use therapy.
Wow as if this came in today… I was having a bit of a rough go with working for a living and not living at all… who has made the rules to this I just don’t get it, it’s driving humanity insane 😢 nevertheless loved this video, very insightful and love your energy as always ❤
These influencers are nuts but in every field there are a minority of people who make the majority of the money, in sports, music, entertainment, politics, business... a few influencers who are very famous make easy money, everybody else has to grind to earn an average or above average income, which is ok but not an easy life, like everybody else...
Maybe we should stop having takes on wars when we're not the ones who initiate or are even involved in. It's those in power doing this, n we literally can't do anything about it. Raising awareness in comments n videos, being real, does nothing for either side. Also, the story of why they're doing it changes every week, according to the media. So it's kinda pointless to worry about what out of our control
@@justsayin._. Sometimes both sides are evil and a false dichotomy forces us to side with evil. Not a political take its just a good reason to not just pick someone as "good guy" simply because 2 options are put in front of you. I love your comment!
Yeah, the economy is bad but good thing we’re sending billions of dollars to Ukraine while people die down in Florida because of the past hurricanes. Boy being a democrat sure is smart :4
Thaliaaa, this video is incredible and I could honestly listen to you talk for hours! 🩷 I agree with everything you said and love how humble and down-to-earth you really are. It's a good trait when people appreciate what they have and realize when they're lucky. Even with my regular 9-5 junior position job I still consider myself incredibly lucky everyday because I can pay my bills and still afford some nice things that I know many people can't. Thank you for educating people and sharing your point-of-view on things. Sending lots of love and happy energy your way

i would love to see you do videos like this and calling out this type of stuff or talk about tiktok/youtube drama if you make another channel, i'll definitely subscribe and watch! or even if you do crime videos again which i miss so much. you are 100% right about all of this, i just left my part time job today after being there for almost 7 months because the hours sucked and the reason why i chose part time was because of helping my ma take care of my grandpa. i was only getting paid $12 an hour and it wasn't enough for me to pay my bills. no matter how much i asked for more hours, i always got told excuses. it wasn't good on my mental health and on top of having to wake up at 4 am and go into work at 6, it's exhausting. but now i'm trying to look for a full time job so my boyfriend and i can find a used car that cost $1.5k-$3k and then an apartment that we can afford. groceries and gas are expensive but you have influencers out here complaining about $4k for one hour. they easily post a tiktok video and get paid, they have brand deals, etc. i would be happy to have $4k+. also there was a clip going around that went viral of charlie d(however you spell their name) was at walmart doing the cashing a customer out for a second clip and to me that was just uncalled for. being a cashier is one of the hardest jobs and it was not easy to do. to me it looked like she was making a joke out of us.
also will you do any more movie reactions soon? i would love to see you react to horror movies lol. and btw, thank you for posting. life lately has been so stressful and trying to keep it all together. you posting makes it 10x better. thank you so much tal, love you
i love you so so much and i'm so excited to see you post this type of video as i love watching these 🫶🏻🍓
I’m am not even a Dixie fan but I just wanted to say that Dixie did not “complain” or say that she isn’t “making enough money”.
I just came across your channel and it’s great keep up with the good work
she did the let them eat cake cuz the damn theme tf snowflakes
Oh my god
I am never leaving
The way he realised that
😂😂😂
hii thalia i actually love these kinds of videos lately so im super down for you to get into the commentary side of youtube. the only thing that could make this better (for me!) would b the volume balance. some clips were rly loud and others rly quiet relative to your voice, so overall the volume kept going up and down and i kept trying to adjust the volume on my end but it was rly uneven. this is a tiny detail tho and i hope you keep making this kind of content. we are always happy to see you upload
thank you so much for the feedback! I'll definitely work on that in future uploads (:
@@HeyItsThaliaBree yay cant wait for the next one! 🥳
I’m a simply guy. I see a Thalia video, I give a like and 30 min of my time to my most favorite human being! 😊

ALSo Canadians should vote conservative next election if we want the cost of living to improve and taxes to go down jusss saying. Americans should vote republican their next election too. Cost of living was way better before these current leaders. They ruined our economy 😣

I work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, and don’t make 4k. Just sad
The last girl Anastasia said £1000 for free delivery by mistake, obviously she meant £100 and she posted in her next video and on instagram apologising lol
definitely wasn’t “obvious” but thank you for clarifying she made a mistake!
Girl, please make a podcast
Where is your quarter zip from? Its so cute 🥰
thank you! it's thrifted
These influencers are nuts but in every field there are a minority of people who make the majority of the money, in sports, music, entertainment, politics, business... a few influencers who are very famous make easy money, everybody else has to grind to earn an average or above average income, which is ok but not an easy life, like everybody else...
Thalia, you're an inspiration
gee thank you 🥺 this made me smile so big
Love it

Maybe we should stop having takes on wars when we're not the ones who initiate or are even involved in. It's those in power doing this, n we literally can't do anything about it. Raising awareness in comments n videos, being real, does nothing for either side.
Also, the story of why they're doing it changes every week, according to the media. So it's kinda pointless to worry about what out of our control
@@justsayin._. It’s not really a war anymore. It’s a genocide. And we are funding it. So we are involved. And the video is related to Palestine.

And disliking obviously
Unfollowing you on everything for your insane behavior. Very ungrateful.
what insane behaviour? are we watching the same person? are you fr? you can leave, you know where every button is so just do it 😂

Sending lots of love and happy energy your way
i’m so glad you enjoy this! thank you so very much for the kind words (: i’m also glad to hear that you are currently living a comfortable life ♥️ much love!!
