Hypocrisy has always been more about following trends, rather than starting them (from standard swedeath to standard melodeath). Their "dude aliens lmao" concept probably makes them more niche than they otherwise would be, too. They've got a pretty reasonable amount of recognition, all things considered.

They are part of the melodeath scene, yes, but in my opinion they put their own sound on it which is quite unique. Definitely not a band that follows trends or sounds like "standard melodeath".

That was almost 18 years ago! I kicked myself in the ass for thinking it because he (They All) KILLED IT! Even the Pain material just keeps getting better.
I agree, especially if they ask why you listen to more heavy metal then it's a fantastic example to show. The video is also incredible and the message is amazing, I am so happy that metal stands up for the truth, some people might think "it's a conspiracy" but this is reality in some countries, and reality is sometimes darker than conspiracies. Been a fan of this band since I was a teenager, they are one of the best melodic dm bands, especially of the very heavy/extreme kind. Sweden is amazing when it comes to musical talent.

Awesome song. The lyrics really hit me with this song . I’m 51 and have been taking nerve medicine and three different antidepressants daily for the past 27 years. The message in this song really is the truth, once you start taking these kind of meds your mind and personality seem to change, but not in a bad way for me personally. It’s a struggle for me to make it through each new day. But it’s this kind of music that keeps me going every day. I’m looking forward to the new album coming out. I’ve been a fan of hypocrisy from the beginning. Thanks for such a great song about an out of control stigma.
This has a different meaning for me. I'm from West Virginia. Ground zero for big pharma dumping Oxycontin into the populace. Meds help us but when companies knowingly push a med that they know is dangerous and extremely addictive...no mercy for them.
Why don't you try natural supplements/herbals? I changed from a lot toxic meds to natural healing herbs and I feel and look better than ever, also am not addicted like I used to be to the meds. Tulsi, Rhodiola Rosea, passion flower, gotu kola, ashwagandha. All of them work against depression and so does legal CBD hemp. Good luck!

I have had Major depressive Disorder since I was 15, they'd given me a lot of medicine. Ironically, all you need is yourself, not the medicine to recover. I ditch all my medicine when I was 18, it's been hard of course, like a drug addict, being relapsed. But depression is like asthma, you can't really recover from it, but what you can do is, controlling it and just manage it. 23 and still alive, it's hard when you're having a breakdown of course, but then again i taught myself " get over it, someone else had worse than you. relax, enjoy the ride. it's nothing but a moment."
I remember my old boss would rant and rave about these guys along with Entombed, Obituary, Dying Fetus and Morbid Angel. I got into all of the above except for Hypocrisy, until today. What an introduction to a band!

@tylerjazz5447 this song is about the evils of the pharmaceutical industry as a whole but mainly geared towards anti-depressants. He has MANY other songs and lyrics that show his attitude towards vaxes. Example "with aluminium in our veins, we will drop dead soon" - Dead World (Worship).

a mid 40 year old friend of mine said when he was 25 years old (my age) he went into a cd store and bought every single cd album that had a nice or edgy album cover and that is how he got into all the metal genres. I'm already into metal but I did the same on Google images. looked up metal cd album covers. saw the cd cover and decided to listen to it. and it was soo worth it. I even bought their CD. 😊

With all the death/black metal bands that have came and gone hypocrisy have stood the test of time.Their true metal legends,they sound just as good as as the first time I heard them when I listened to abducted over 25 years ago.
I'm a pharmacist and so I'm kinda involved in this matter. I agree that it is a sensitive, controversial topic. On one hand we should praise the great achievements of science and medicine, but on the other hand it is bad if the whole thing goes abused and commercialisation gets out of hand. As for I, working in the national medicines agency, try to do my best to keep the whole thing checked, for the benefit of the people.
Of course some medicines are like needed and have benefits but some just do more harm than good. Used to be on meds before due to anxiety and such, they just made everything worse in the long run and it took me years to restore my mind after them, ouch.
fuck pills, it is the doctors who are to blame, bribed by pharma to prescribe unneeded medications . pharmacist is not responsible for doctor's corrupt, naive, uneducated misdeeds .
@@superblondeDotOrg well not all docs are bad, some I know really dislike prescribing pills, it's like very hard(or even impossible) to get any bad or addictive medicines from them, I have even been warned against many medicines cause they are addictive and such. Maybe the system is different in Sweden so not all docs are to blame but some yeah.

Doctors are not trained in diet at all, or simple remedies, easy symptoms resolvable by diet are never suggested, instead, people even kids get prescribed pills and no other info, even if big side effects or even possible addictions involved. This music video is 110% correct in the metaphor of pushing drugs into young people.

I have had Major depressive Disorder since I was 15, they'd given me a lot of medicine. Ironically, all you need is yourself, not the medicine to recover. I ditch all my medicine when I was 18, it's been hard of course, like a drug addict, being relapsed. But depression is like asthma, you can't really recover from it, but what you can do is, controlling it and just manage it. 23 and still alive, it's hard when you're having a breakdown of course, but then again i taught myself " get over it, someone else had worse than you. relax, enjoy the ride. it's nothing but a moment."
I hope you're doing better bud. I feel like I fully recovered by changing my mind set and living for God.

a mid 40 year old friend of mine said when he was 25 years old (my age) he went into a cd store and bought every single cd album that had a nice or edgy album cover and that is how he got into all the metal genres. I'm already into metal but I did the same on Google images. looked up metal cd album covers. saw the cd cover and decided to listen to it. and it was soo worth it. I even bought their CD. 😊
He did great things with LINDEMANN and Pain, but there's nothing quite like his baby Hypocrisy. Remembering the good old days of 'Penetralia'...when the death scene was just beginning to conquer!

With all the death/black metal bands that have came and gone hypocrisy have stood the test of time.Their true metal legends,they sound just as good as as the first time I heard them when I listened to abducted over 25 years ago.
I'm a pharmacist and so I'm kinda involved in this matter. I agree that it is a sensitive, controversial topic. On one hand we should praise the great achievements of science and medicine, but on the other hand it is bad if the whole thing goes abused and commercialisation gets out of hand. As for I, working in the national medicines agency, try to do my best to keep the whole thing checked, for the benefit of the people.
Of course some medicines are like needed and have benefits but some just do more harm than good. Used to be on meds before due to anxiety and such, they just made everything worse in the long run and it took me years to restore my mind after them, ouch.
fuck pills, it is the doctors who are to blame, bribed by pharma to prescribe unneeded medications . pharmacist is not responsible for doctor's corrupt, naive, uneducated misdeeds .
@@superblondeDotOrg well not all docs are bad, some I know really dislike prescribing pills, it's like very hard(or even impossible) to get any bad or addictive medicines from them, I have even been warned against many medicines cause they are addictive and such. Maybe the system is different in Sweden so not all docs are to blame but some yeah.
@@superblondeDotOrg there's a little more to it than that. there's almost never a straight line from disease to drug discovery to cure, or drug discovery/profit/adverse effect/cover up. Off label use is one.

@@ytbr3383 it is very different in U.S., very bad, there is a direct sales channel from pharma (which makes big big $$$) and the doctors who prescribe pills. Doctors are not trained in diet at all, or simple remedies, easy symptoms resolvable by diet are never suggested, instead, people even kids get prescribed pills and no other info, even if big side effects or even possible addictions involved. This music video is 110% correct in the metaphor of pushing drugs into young people.
