The Swedish Tram Museum is located in the middle of idyllic Södermanland, about 115 kilometers west of Stockholm. Since 1969, the heritage trams of the "Svenska Spårvägssällskapet" organization are operating on a 2.6 kilometer long section of a former railway line. The trams start at the former Malmköping station, passing by the idyllic swedish countryside and over a dam between the Hosjön and Östersjön lakes, bevor reaching the terminus at Hosjö.
The museum owns more than 40 trams, about a third of which are operational. There are also around 25 buses, which are presented to the public at the "Bussmuseum".
The organization also operates heritage trams in Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö and Norrköping.
