It's really weird! I wonder if it has something to do with 1. the restructuring with HYBE and rights holding, 2. They're planning on using that footage in something official, 3. The change in US record labels, and/or (and this happens alot) 4. malicious false copyright claims. There are actually scammers on YT that claim rights that aren't theirs (antis also love to report BTS related content)...and of course you guys know it's a pain in the arse to appeal blocks and strikes.

To answer your question about the audition process, we don’t actually know many details. We know Bang Sihyuk (the CEO) found RM first and signed him on the spot, but then didn’t really know what to do with him. First he decided to make a rap group, but the other members quit. Then Suga and j-hope joined late 2010 along with 4 other people, who also eventually left (or stayed as in-house producers but not as members). In general, Big Hit was searching for appropriate members for BTS from 2010-2012, and there were many trainees during the time (around 9 or I believe up to 20 at some point?), coming and leaving as they decided to quit/were found to not be a good match. Jimin was the last member to join in 2012, and at the end of 2012, they all decided that the line-up was best (chemistry wise and talent/effort/personality wise) with the 7 members we have now. They released youtube vlogs and soundcloud songs to promote and to create an audience before officially debuting with their first album in 2013. This is all from my understanding though, there may be a couple of details I missed

Hobi was already a Trainee when RM came, he was the first Bighit trainee ever and signed at age 16 they talked about it on Festa, he was third one to come into the Band 3 weeks after Yoongi but Hobi worked as a Backup Dancer before that. Most of their writing is for BTS. They have more than 250 songs, and that doesn't include remixes or alternative versions. And the band members took part on writing most of it, and of course their solo work
Outside of it, the three rappers have some writing credits for their collabs with other artists, and RM acted as lyricist for other artists from their company. Suga is the one with more credits as composer and producer outside of BTS. He worked with big names of the South Korean industry

The rise of bangtan is by far the best docuseries about BTS. It gives you an insight on the k pop industries as well as South Korean culture and society and how BTS fits into that. It's in the style of Tupac: Resurrection where Aneesa takes clips from vlogs, interviews and their shows and weave them to tell a story. It is so well done. I highly recommend you watching that especially if your new to BTS.

  • @whatever_itis

I wouldn't say who is bigger than who, but clearly rapline is the foundation of BTS. A lot of their songs are hit thanks to them, including their in-house producers. They have the most produced songs among the members as well. All members of the rapline are full members of the Korea music copyright association while the vocal line members are associate members. If you see the tracklist for the new come back, even for just CD1, RM is credited 18/19 songs. Each member of the rapline has over 100+ songs credited to them(maybe and Suga have 200+ now). So yeah.

RM Suga and J Hope, are all in the Top 10 of most credited Idols of all time, Namjoon is on his way to be number one, and he is not even 30. Fun fact J Hope is the most successful and most followed male Solo Artist out of South Korea on Spotify, he is the only one that Charted in the US with his Solo work, and he broke western Artist Records with it, even tho J Hope released for Free on SoundCloud. His Mixtape is a mix out of 80s Hip Hop, Funk and Lofi since his love for Hip Hop started with dancing. His Dad is a literature Teacher, so his Songs and Music videos have a lot of Book references.

I will comment as I watch your video so sorry for the long comment.
This introduction has some spoilers but it's a good one. And although it's fairly new, it is already a little outdated.
From my knowledge, the only ones who wrote for others are: RM(he is credited on one song of their fellow label mates Tomorrow x Together - 0x1=LOVESONG, it's a good emo pop rock song imo) plus he has some collabs with others. Suga is the one who also produced and wrote songs for many other people, some with him also featuring.
You have to remember their debut was in 2013 and they constantly released albums with relatively little time inbetween them, add the collabs, RM and Suga's 2 mixtapes, J-hope's mixtape plus other songs by the other members uploaded on Soundcloud. They have aprox 300 songs! So the credits are impressive but considering this, they are realistic. They are just very prolific lol, especially the rapline.
I mean, their album Map of the Soul: 7 has 19 songs (plus a remix we don't really like to talk about hehe)
I know many people recommend Chicken Noodle Soup because it's J-Hope's most famous solo song. It's a really good song to see how different his style is from the other two rappers, plus the original song hold a special place in his heart as a dancer. But I personally recommend also checking out his other two solo MVs from his mixtape: Airplane and Daydream.
That fox from Jin's solo song Moon is a reference to the Little Prince, it's not just a freaky mask :)
That song by V is called Winter Bear. I has a video on their BANGTANTV channel. It's a really calming song.
JK is an impressive individual but he has said his nickname Golden Maknae is sometimes pressuring for him. And the fact that he is good as so many things often leads to people overlooking how much of a hardworking person he is. Ida S's channel is dedicated to JK and has some videos showcasing his talents: "Jungkook's amazing talents" I think shows some of his art. Also "Jungkook the main vocalist of BTS" shows what his roles in the band mean."Why Jungkook is your bias" is also good.
All the members have amazing talents and the fact that they are very hardworking and humble plays a huge role in why they are so loved by many.
I am telling you, you will absolutely love the Rise of Bangtan series which I am sure has been recommended already. It will open your eyes even more :) it is also so well made and if you pay attention it answers many questions you may have. A little tip: also pay attention to the lyrics of the songs that are played if you start the series, because they oftentimes are related to the story portrayed.

That and some of their other art also could be found hanging in the new compound where In The Soop 2 had been filmed. Jungkook likes realistic/naturalistic art, V is more the surrealist painter and SUGA likes painting abstract.
In 2010 Big Hit started looking for members for their hip hop group. Namjoon, Yoongi and Hobi were all taken in as trainees from summer to late 2010, then Jin and Jungkook were added in the course of early to mid 2011. Tae came in 3 months after Jungkook and the one who came last (and had the shortest training time of only 3 months) was Jimin though V was revealed as the last member to the public only a short time before their debut. Usually during their trainee days, companies try to lure trainees away from their companies as they are not under a contract per se. Up to this time only one group had a baritone SINGER, usually baritones were used as rappers as the public seemed not to like pop songs with deeper singing voices but tastes were changing so a true baritone singing voice of Tae's calibre was a gem (and yet they only did use him in the early songs for his growling capacity *sigh*).

I laughed when you said they must be writing for other groups. People will correct me if I’m wrong, but I think most of those credits are just for BTS songs and their own solo work. BTS has well over 200 songs, and more than one member will often write/create on the same song (along with their in-house team and others), so those credits aren’t necessarily for different songs.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. The video is actually out of date. Actually now Namjoon got 187 KOMCA credits as of 1/1/2022. I think Namjoon is the 2nd most credited idol. And Suga has 134 credits (9th), J-Hope 119 (12th). They updated the list in Jan it was all over TwT. For Jin and all of them they had amazing singing teachers. And they helped each other a lot too. Because they did not have steady training in the early years. Rise of Bangtan has a lot of that info. With V I feel look's were one thing but maybe the staff heard his speaking voice and was like 0.0 oh he needs to audition. The staff are trained to find potential and so they were 100% right. Jimin had 6-8 months of training only! He was almost let go 8 times. It was a really stressful time for him. V asked Bang PD to let Jimin stay and RM supported him. The others trained for 2-3 yrs together before debut. The more u know! =0] RM is just RM now. It's not real me. He was asked this in an interview and said no that is not his name. JHope is the main dancer. JK is lead dancer. Yeah JK is a triple threat. He is the Golden Maknae for a reason! =0p I hope u get to check out more solo and group songs. They have such great music. Except for jimin though. He got a little less than a year of official training which is really mind boggling for me when i learned that.

15:16- When it comes to the credits, keep in mind that one, BTS have approximately 250-300(???) songs, and two, a fair amount of RM, Suga, and J-Hope's credits overlap (ie., all of them being credited on the same song), so they don't necessarily have to be writing for other artists to achieve those high numbers of credits. They do however collab with people outside of the group (and Suga even produces for other artists as well.)
23:28- Jungkook is the lead dancer, but J-hope is the dance leader, referring to the fact that he often teaches the other members the choreography and is in charge when they're practicing in the dance studio. J-hope (and Jimin) are the main dancers, Jungkook is the lead dancer. In kpop, the term "main" is actually higher/more prominent than "lead". Personally tho, I would also take these role assignments with a grain of salt because with BTS, it doesn't matter much lol (and when I say that, I mean that they pretty much showcase the members equally). Especially cuz Jungkook is also the "center", aka the center of a lot of the dancing formations, so he's often very prominent in choreography anyway.
33:18- this video is a little misleading when it's talking about the instruments the boys play. While all of them have dabbled in playing different instruments at one time or another, they don't often have the time or opportunity to practice or use their skills. I'd say the only exception is probably Suga, who started learning piano at a young age and has continued to play (he actually wrote a song about his love for the piano called First Love).
35:35- as far as I know, the actual audition process for getting into an entertainment company in the idol business isn't particularly long (I'm sure the methods and length of time vary, probably longer/more intense for larger companies ). However, once you've passed the audition it doesn't mean you're guaranteed to become part of a group. Once you join a company you become a trainee, and are given the chance to train under the company where you will POSSIBLY be chosen to be a member of a group. People's trainee periods can often last for literal years (I think the average is maybe around three years, but I've heard of some people being trainees for like 12 years!!) and is usually very intense, involving vocal/rap/dance training as well as other training such as language and media/PR classes.
36:05- As someone who is also Suga and RM biased it makes me happy to see more people appreciating them 🥰 since you've enjoyed both of them, might I suggest you check out a J-hope solo song next as the final member of the rapline? If you wanna check out one of his mixtape songs Daydream is one of my favorites, or since you guys like the harder hitting stuff Hangsang and Baseline are amazing too (no music videos for those two tho)
(I'm also gonna suggest a three part reaction to the rapline's songs from Map of the Soul: 7; since these songs are very connected thematically I always recommend that people check them out in order and together:
    1. Intro: Persona, RM
    2. Interlude: Shadow, Suga
    3. Outro: Ego, J-hope
    All three have music videos!)
36:58- Taylor's video is great, if you wanna react to that one I'm sure people would love it! I'm not sure if it's still unlisted atm tho, hopefully someone can drop the link for you guys (I don't have it unfortunately 😭)

it's their training days that really put them in the rigor... as it's really still very much an evaluation phase. If I remember correctly, their trainee batch started out with 20

The audition process for the members were short, (but different for every member as some auditioned, entered competition, scouted, offered a spot) but the training period were: (To my understanding)
    RM: 4 years
    Suga: 3 years
    J-hope: 3 years
    Jin: 2 years
    Jungkook: 2 years
    V: 1 year
Jimin: 6 months to a year

In answer to your question about the training period, for quite a long time it was industry standard that an aspiring performer would train for a minimum of ~3 years with a company before they would debut. There's a lot of information required to properly explain how the industry works (both pros + cons and cultural reasons), but if they see potential in someone with the ability to pick up skills quickly and has the discipline to train, then it's about 3 years to develop them into a performer. It can vary greatly depending on the individual/circumstances, so for example Jimin's training period was less than a year (as was Jake from Enhypen), whereas Bang Chan from Stray Kids was a trainee for ~7 years before eventually debuting.

One recent song written by Suga is "That That" released a few weeks ago by veteran Korean artist PSY. Have you reacted to that yet? If not, I hope you do.

Taylor Nakamoto's introduction video is similar to this one, but she also includes a little glimpse of their personalities so it's fun.
I'd also recommend "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On" by Rice Squad, which summarizes their career. You can see how they grew slowly and organically, doing better and better with each song and each album in terms of sales and chart performance. It's really inspiring to see their journey and how they never tire of working hard and improving themselves and how they're never impatient in working towards their goals.
They did start out as a hip-hop group, but at some point Big Hit thought it would be better to form an idol group, so they started searching for singers. Some rapper trainees left the group when that happened (I think one of them became an in-house producer at Big Hit). If you look for their pre-debut stuff when they released covers, some of these covers included former trainees.
I think the recruitment started in 2010 and the debut was in 2013. Over those years around 30 trainees came and went.
