In a time where i feel myself drawn into the darkness of ever recurring depression, Mark Lanegan writes a song wich reflect all of my feelings. It helps. Thanks Mark.
Just heard Mark passed away. I'm heartbroken. We have lost an amazing man. Sympathies to Shelly and extended family. The world will never be the same again. RIP Mark.
Beautifully put. I literally found out my grandma passed away and this. I'm so devastated. I read his amazing memoir and I said to my beautiful wife Mister Mark Lanegan is going to live forever and I can't believe it

As an abused Manic Depressive with over 40 head injuries, stabilized for 11 years @59, I wish I could've known him as I've had to learn and overcome mountains about the brain. Life takes discipline.
@@MrRoundthetwist now That started an interesting conversation in my head. Jesusseems cool but I've lived among his followers. I'd cast my fate with Lanegan, at least I know I'll be walking among snakes in the grass. I'll take his brutal truth anyday over someone's illusion that they are a good person and it is a just world.
Damn, so dark and depressing.. It's hard to hear such things said but I can relate so well to them.. Mark you are a,musical and lyrical icon..thank you..
Mark always surprises me, honestly. Compared to others here, possibly, i'm somewhat of a latecomer to Mark. But in almost 10 years listening to him (first his Screaming Trees and later as ML Band works), i must say he is an artist that never gets tired, he is always up to something new. His mind is always moving on to the next stage. While i initially tended to dislike his transition to so much electronic additions, over the years i have liked how he has been able to balance styles, or i should say to bring new sounds, while also conservating much of his ''lyrical nature''. He has always been the kind of artist, that sings about many things that usually trouble us, but also the bright side of the life. He is like the life itself, if we talk about the lyrics. So over the years, the older i get, his music has become much more real than before (i started listening to him while i was 22 yrs old, now i'm almost 32). I'm also impressed on how he has sailed through the troubled, turbulent waters of life, without showing even the slightest sing of surrendering. Many of his old pals, friends, or people he also loved a lot, left this world at this point; and i'm sure all of that has also influenced his lyrical style. But no matter the changes, he is still standing firm. Definitely, he is the kind of artists that i'm going to miss too much, if one day leaves this world all of a sudden. Because not everyone can bring us music the way he does, as it was (in my side) the case with Chris Cornell.
Awww, what a wonderful surprise!!! "I spent my life, tryin' every way to die is it my fate to be the last one standin'?...." Thank you Mark, a beautiful song!!!!

"I spent my life, tryin' every way to die Is it my fate to be the last one standin'?" Immediately though about Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Jeffrey Lee Pierce and Chris Cornell who all once were very close to Mark.
Ouch, my heart, this song makes me miss Anthony Bourdain and all the other great legends we’ve lost too soon in recent memory. So much beauty and pain wrapped up in tangled plaid. Oh so very thankful Mark is still out there making music like this. 💕🧢💕
Personally, I know that darkness too. For me, a lot of those people that we lost, it felt straight to my heart. Especially with Cornell. Mark though has a great way of putting that darkness into a song that is utterly relatable, at least for me.
i really love that you mentioned tony. long before I even knew who anthony bourdain was (later to be my only true hero and role model), Mark Lanegan was my go to musician for solace since i was 18. I can't explain how much it mean to me that they happened to cross paths and become friends. But of course, Tony being in the same vein of human as Lanegan and the rest of us here, it makes sense. I dont want to ramble on forever, but at least we still have Lanegan here in the meantime.
Always surprises me this guy is not more popular than he is... He's amazing and has a ton of stuff out there! Then again, it's cool to have your own little secrets...
You fucking broken magical soul machine. Thank you for breaking life and throwing us the bones. It makes so much sense even though it really should not! Obrigado! You cracked menace!
Utterly spellbinding, awesome, this has to be the best song I’ve heard in years. Mark, this is possibly your greatest ever song and your creativity seems to know no bounds. Loved seeing you live in Nov 2019. I cannot get over how powerful this song is lyrically and musically.
