This week's video is a little different than my usual. I go over 5 tiny habits that will change your art practice for the better.
I actually have those tiny habits integrated into my own art practice. I hope you find them helpful!
Thank you so much for watching! Please like, and share this video if you enjoyed it. I appreciate your support ❤
It’s YOUR name. I’m French speaking and have a hard time with some English names. If you feel like changing it I think it should come from your feelings inside not from people outside. Cheers!
Thank you for that perspective. 💛I really appreciate it. Seems I’ve really been overthinking this.😃
I agree! It’s YOUR name! Whether people have a hard time pronouncing it or not it’s still YOUR name! And it’s a lovely name! 🤗
Your name is beautiful and easy to pronounce for this Aussie guy. Don’t change it for the world. My favourite artist was french, Jean Girard (Moebius) - it’s a gorgeous language.
Thank you, Matt! I won’t.
Moebius draws cool comics if I’m not mistaken. Thank you so much for watching! 😊
I'm probably biased because I studied french for many years, but I think your name sounds lovely as it is! As for habits, there are some really good ideas here (some of which I've done from time to time). I had a period where I did a sketch every day and that really helped me get back into doing art more regularly. I had a creative writing class once and the professor made us write non-stop for 15 minutes - no prompt, did not matter what you wrote, just had to write until he said to stop. Sometimes we just gotta get some ink on paper and the artistic stuff will find its way out. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for the ideas. I also find that taking photos throughout the process helps me tremendously. It always surprises me what a photo reveals that my eyes don't see.
You’re welcome!
Right?! Taking photos definitely helps get a different perspective.
Thanks for watching!
Yes, I agree with this! I've taken photos of the process too. Sometimes, I even just look at them in the middle of the day to get ideas on how to proceed. Great to let it marinate!
I don't think your name is difficult, and it's a really nice sounding name. Great video!
Thank you! I might be overthinking this! 😅 I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching!
I always bring a tote bag with art supplies (pencil/pen) with my sketchbook where I draw faces and fashion.
I take images of projects I plan to use on my website; this helps with what needs more refining.
That’s awesome!
▼ Salut Isabelle! I love these, thank you! Vous êtes très gentil de les partager avec nous 🇫🇷
01:50 Tiny Habit #1 Daily doodle
02:54 Tiny Habit #2 Keep a list of drawing ideas
03:33 Tiny Habit #3 Keep a creativity kit close by
04:58 Tiny Habit #4 Take mini-breaks
05:58 Tiny Habit #5 Take photos during the progress of your projects
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
Great tips, thanks! Taking a small kit is my preferred tip. I started doing this and have a collection of new sketches in my smakk sketchbook now. Your name is absolutely fine, its part of your heritage and identity, which are reflected in your art. You can also just use your first name for videos if you want to make it simpler - or preserve your privacy. I just found your channel and am enjoying watching your back catalogue. Thank you. isabelle.
Thank you, Berolina! I’m glad you enjoyed the tips and it’s great you’re already taking a small kit wherever you go. I think I’ve been overthinking the name thing (especially after reading all the comments on the matter) 😄.
Thank you so much for watching my content. I do appreciate it 💜
Such a beautiful name. Maybe a studio name for those who find pronunciation difficult. But your name is lovely
Thank you! I've thought of having a studio name for my TH-cam channel and social media, but I am very indecisive about it. Thank you so much for watching!
Your name is fine! My mother had her mother’s name, Kreta Liisa a Finnish name. Well over the years people kept changing it cause they couldn’t pronounce it. She gave up and had it legally changed to Betty. Don’t change your name! My mom was born in 1914 and I’m still mad for her! I’m subscribing 😊
Thank you, all great ideas. You actually reminded me to take some photos of paintings I am working on now. Lovely video...cheers from Australia...👍👍👏👏🌹
Wonderful! Thank you so much for watching. 🤩Australia is a country I dream of visiting at some point! Cheers✨
YOu are lovely, thank you for sharing your journey. inspiring and motivating
Thank you, Andrea!
Your English is perfect and your accent is wonderful. Thank you for some excellent advice.
Thank you! My English is much better than my French these days 😃 (I moved to the US in 2005). Thank you for watching this video! I’m glad you enjoyed it! ✨
Thank you for the lovely ideas 💙 the planner mini-sketches is a great idea I think imma have to go out and get a planner just for that! Maybe the individual day pages I can use for brainstorming or for bigger sketches 🤔🤔
Totally!
Whenever I bought a planner in the past I would use it for 2 or 3 months and then the rest would go to waste basically but now drawing daily doodles in it has motivated me to continue using it. Thank you so much for watching! 💛
@@isabelledebionne Yes!! Planner hoarder club president here 🙋🏻♀️ haha
Some super tips, thank you for sharing. I would keep your name, it is lovely.
So glad you like these tips! Thank you for watching 😊
These are great tips. Thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful ideas …I am going to dive into it right away!
Awesome! You’re welcome😊
These are some great tips, the daily practice is so important to keep the creative flow going!
Thank you! 😊 A daily practice no matter how small really is important. I appreciate you watching!
Such a helpful vid. Merci beaucoup 🙏
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Thank you for watching ❤️
Nice presentation and helpful hints. Thank you.
I’m glad you found the video helpful. Thank you for watching!
Some great tips 💜
Thank you! 💜
Good advice ❤
I love your name! Keep it! Thank you for these tips. I'm also a self taught artist, and try to find pockets of time for art while running a salon. Great tips!
Thank you! I'm glad you like these tips. I know how hard it is to follow your bliss while having a full-time occupation.. I like finding ways to make it a little less overwhelming while still making progress. Thanks for watching!
I love that you are self taught and do art on the side of your job!! Very relatable 🥰 subbed 😄
Thank you so much!!😊
Ooh, I like the calendar doodle, much better than just X-ing out the day!
It really is! 😃
Thank you! I love the idea of a doodle practice. I don't always know what I want to draw, so maybe that might help.
The doodling practice can become a log of what you enjoy drawing and be something you can refer back to as an initial idea when you feel stuck on what to draw. Thanks for watching!
Not easy but so beautiful ❤
Este vídeo ajudou-me bastante. Adorei a ideia do mini kit sempre comigo. Vou já tomar acção. Beijinhos de Portugal. ❤
I’m so glad this video is helpful for you! Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
Isabelle, I love your last name and have no trouble pronouncing it. Maybe that high school French has finally come in handy lol. Please don't change it. It makes you YOU. It's beautiful. These five tiny habits are huge. Not only are they great for artists but I think I could incorporate them into my writing habit which has fallen by the wayside these days. Since I'm a dabbling artist who hasn't dabbled in some time, I think I'm going to try that daily doodle in my calendar to get going again. These were great. Thanks so much! xo
Thank you, Christina. I love looking for ways to make things less overwhelming and I'm happy those tiny habit ideas. are giving you the motivation to get back into drawing. You could definitely apply those to writing; I think that's a great idea. Just replace the doodle with a paragraph or something like that. Thank you so much for watching! xo
Hiii, your name is beautiful! Thank you for this video, I appreciate your tips ☺️
Thank you 😊. Thank you so much for watching! 💛
Hi there! just came across your video. I love your tiny habits, especially the doodle a day in the calendar space of your planner. I too am a self-taught artist and I'm trying to get back into my art a little later on in life ;o) Currently my writing has taken precedence, but I feel a lack on the art/side and I am trying to remedy that. Thank you for inspiring us with small steps.
Hi Nadira, that’s awesome you’re working on your art practice! I’m glad this video was helpful. Ah yes I enjoy these little doodles every day. Thank you for watching! 😊
The nsme is hard to read but it's distinctful.
Your name is lovely!! Keep it 😊
Thank you! 😊
Good reminders, thanks. From my own experience, I think your very lovely name is a perfect artists name, just as is. Mine (Dawn-Marie deLara) is a little tricky, and sometimes a bit annoying as I often have to spell or explain it to folks, but sounding slightly exotic, to American ears anyway, seems to boost interest and keep it memorable.
Great ideas, especially taking photos along the way. Keeping an idea list is great too. These two work well together. I have never gotten the hang of keeping a sketchbook. Maybe the photos and ideas could be like a digital sketchbook. Is that a thing? Merci Mme. pour les idees.
Yeah you could definitely do things digitally! Whatever works best for you. I think it’s a great idea. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video ❤ I think irrespective of your name (whether it’s a made up artist name or your full name), some people will mispronounce it, others will make efforts to say it correctly; so I’d stick with whatever you like. But personally, I think you have a beautiful name x
Thank you so much for watching! ❤ That’s a good point. Thank you! 😊
Lovely little video, thanks for the tips! 😊Also, your name is beautiful and people really can put in the effort and learn how to pronounce it.
Thank you! 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
I like your name, please keep it!
My name has been mispronounced many times just in my daily life. Sometimes I use it as a conversation starter. I worked customer service for years, you have a very easy name to pronounce.
You have the right attitude by using that mispronunciation as a conversation starter!
I rarely have people say my name right but maybe it doesn’t really matter. I guess i’m overthinking this! 😅 Thank you so much for watching!
@@isabelledebionne my last name starts with Saint, which is somewhat common. I have been mistakenly called Street!
Same here! I pronounce my name the French way. It also gets mispronounced or people substitute it with a more familiar name.
@@lynnstlaurent6789Really? I’d think St would obviously mean Saint in a name.
@@jeannegonzalez6714 Jeanne is a very pretty name! I can totally see how some people would not get it right though, which is too bad.
Not French here but I actually think your full name sounds artsy as it is :) It's very unique and rare.
Thank you! It’s not a common French name for sure, and definitely unique living in the US. 😊
@@isabelledebionne You're very welcome :) You should be proud of it.
@BoruArt Well, thank you I do like my name but I’ve heard it mispronounced so many times… 😅 maybe something more simple or easier to remember would be better. A cousin of mine who is a professional artist translated his last name which I found brilliant unfortunately mine doesn’t translate. I’ll keep mulling over the idea…
Thank you so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I agree sometimes the white page or white canvas is intimidating so even a few marks is all you need to get started.
My surname both my maiden name and my married name are both mispronounced and both are English surnames
@@loramay21 Oh really? I guess that’s a good point any name can be mispronounced. I’m probably just overthinking this!
Thank you for watching!
Your name is beautiful and perfect, don't change a thing!
😊Thank you
Thanks for the tips. 🥰 Go by your name especially if you’re trying to be a full time artist:)
Your last name is so beautiful. I personally have no trouble pronouncing it. Mnemonics can help.
aww thank you! hmm didn't think of Mnemonics.
keep the last name, prob very few if anyone else with it 🙂
i have WAY too many list of ideas lol I am always losing the books with the ideas in them tho😝
Thanks! It's not a common name in France even. I know what you mean lol the ideas keep flowing... Thank you for watching!😊
Embrace your name! Everyone will catch on!
😊
De*bi*onne is a beautiful and musical name.
You got it! Thank you😊
Thank you for your presentation. I think you had some good ideas that I would like to incorporate into my habits. And I think your name is far too beautiful to be turned into an English name.
Aww thank you! 😊
I’m glad you found this video helpful. Thanks for watching!
I think your name is beautiful and it sounds like an artist name.
Thank you 😊
Lovely video. Don't worry about your name, nobody outside of the Netherlands can pronounce van Gogh properly, either. ;)
Thank you! 😊 Haha that’s true!
Thanks so much for watching!
your name is beautiful as is!
Thank you 😊
Great ideas! I take photos. I find I see my pieces differently! 😊 Relax and enjoy your art! 😎
Thank you! Same I think somehow taking photos gives you a fresh perspective. Thanks for watching! 😊
Your name is lovely. People need to learn to stretch their minds and their vocal cords. Perhaps if more people were multi-lingual, this world would be a more peaceful place.
Thank you 😊
Your last name is not hard, I think it is lovely, there are many people in the us and Canada of French descent. I am French Canadian, my surname is is godbout, most do not realize the t is silent, but it is no big deal.
I would change your youtube channel name, if you want your channel to take off. It's best to have a memorable channel name which is why some of the largest art channels don't even use the person's name. However if your youtube channel is mostly a way to bring attention to your art, I would keep the channel your name.
Thank you for your comment.
I think my artist name and TH-cam channel name could be two separate things, right?
Thanks for watching!
Keep your lovely French name. Surely people can say it two or three times and learn it that way 🤷♀️ ✌️❤️
So true! Thanks! ❤️
Keep the name. It’s yours. We can adjust and learn to pronounce it. 🌺
😊🌸
Try some Finnish names 😂 They can be a mouthful 😂
I can imagine! 😅
I think your name should be your name!
If they can learn to say Tchaikovsky, they can learn to say your name just fine. Never change for "them", whomever them is. Be proud of who you are and your name is a part of that.
You make a very good and important point! Thank you.
Not hard to pronounce at all.
Make people learn to pronounce your name, it will do them some good.
Great ideas!
Thanks! Glad you like them!
