Each higher being has an equal and opposite higher being that represents one part of a dichotomy. The Radiance and Grimm are dreams and nightmares, Unn and the White Lady are disordered and orderly growth, the Pale King and (presumably) the Blackwyrm are civilization and anarchy. So fitting with this dichotomy, the Shade Lord and Lifeblood creature represent something equal and opposite as well, and that parallel is likely taking and giving, since fighting void enemies gives no soul, whereas collecting lifeblood gives extra masks at zero cost of soul.
The life blood creature is basically the radiance accept it has no anger issues and helps bugs. Other than that life blood basically functions just like a tame infection. Unlike the radiance though we can see life blood is spread throughout the world in the silk song trailer where hornet takes a life blood syringe.
I have a theory thing, I´m not sure how to explain it, but I´m gonna try anyway. There are four «elements»: soul (life), void (death), infection/light and lifeblood. Soul and void are opposites and lifeblood and infection are opposites. What makes me believe this is that void and soul are black and white which obviously are opposite colours (Ik theyre not colours, but u know what I mean). And lifeblood and infection are blue and orange which are opposite colours too. I´m not sure where essence would fit into this. Maybe its something unrelated. I think higher beings have power over essence, since dream particles are coloured with the higher beings´ colours, the pale king and white lady have white dream particles, Unn has green, the abyss creature has blue, the radience has orange and the nightmare heart has red. Sorry if this made no sense, it was late when I was writing this, remember to brush your teeth at least two times a day
That makes a surprising amount of sense, I think I can even build on it. Opposites often have, ironically, similarities, so it makes sense that both light and lifeblood have seeds, as well as soul and void both being able to power spells. As for essence, it can be like Ether in other elemental views of the world, as in the thing that holds everything together. What I'm trying to say is that I very much like this theory.
I always thought of the abyss creature as a more artificial higher being. I thought that lifeblood had existed even during the time of the ancient civilization. However, some lifeblood had ended up in the abyss, likely because of one of the members of the ancient civilization. After that the lifeblood had merged with the void to become the abyss creature. After that the abyss creature just spread lifeblood more and more.
The collecter is probobly not purely void since he was gazed into by the husk dandy so the collecter probobly is a mix of soul and void exept its soul isn't on its surface
My theory is this. The life blood being is like a leach which takes refuge in any place with sufficient dream essence. I do think it was around during the ancient civilization and since its destruction its place of stay was deactivated until the knight. For the one in godhome it leached on and attuned to the pantheons to ascend through the knight's combat.
Thanks for making this video, I wanted to hear someone talk about this. My own theory is that Void is a corrupted form of Lifeblood and that ancient civilization worshipped the Abyss Creature for giving them lifeblood until something turned all the Lifeblood to void and killed them.
I've always thought the corpse found near the fury of the fallen charm looked alot like the creature in the life blood room. It's smaller obviously, but maybe it's the same sort of thing

I do plan to make a video on elements in the hollow knight world at some point in the future

I think essence is opposite nightmare flame but idk, doesn't fit as well
In this case Unn power is opposite to Nightmares, cos it's opposite colours too. And stay question.... Who is Yelow and Violet 🤔

That means that the abyss creature might have made lifeblood a hive mind thing
@@prezireplayz8229 I wouldn't be surprised by that. Hive mind mentalities are common in the bug kingdom and in Hollow Knight.
Lifeblood core room isnt the only dream room where you actually die and leave behind a shade, the radiance arena also does this
The shade is left behind in the Black Egg, not the actual dream arena where she is fought
@@lifebloodcore2106 still dying and leaving behind a shade, as far as I'm concerned
Lifeblood could also be an alternative to soul next to void since life seeds don't give soul
Probobly a hive mind idk
Speaking about hive mind the void does NOT have a hive mind till the knight gets void heart, same with any void constructs or vessels
The collecter is probobly not purely void since he was gazed into by the husk dandy so the collecter probobly is a mix of soul and void exept its soul isn't on its surface
I believe they do give soul when dream nailed
@@lifebloodcore2106you can’t dream nail them

The ancient civilization always worshipped the Void
3:28 Not entirely true, if the knight dies in the fight with the radiance a shade is made in the black egg, but thats a unique circumstance
I think the reason why lifeblood gives extra masks to the knight is because the knight is a vessel.
I’d never known or connected some of this stuff, this is a great resource, thanks!
I've always thought the corpse found near the fury of the fallen charm looked alot like the creature in the life blood room. It's smaller obviously, but maybe it's the same sort of thing
Fitting video
and my stupid ass thought that lifeblood originated from Joni
It is possible that this creature escaped from Ridianse into the void and that is why it is filled with emptiness
