I pay a lot of attention to the Royal Navy. A lot of Americans do. To us that carrier looks like a powerful and beautiful warship. The Chinese pay attention too. They hate the idea of that ship near them. They told you not to send it. Of course that absolutely guarantees that it will be sent. Right away. A lot of nations are happy to see her. Not the Chinese. May God Bless the Royal Navy, HMS Queen Elizabeth and every ship and sailor! Best wishes from the Sunshine State!

@FalklandsRforeverBritishI knew a guy named Larry. An American Jew from Boston. He flew with the RCAF in the Battle of Britain before transferring to the USAAF. He was, no bones about it, a gangster. He developed his pilot skills during Prohibition. Flying to Bimini to supply the hotels on Miami Beach. Quote: "I joined in '39 to get an early crack at the N@zis". Another Quote: "ya don't mess with those guys" "they're serious business." Referring to the British.
I knew another man, a teacher and a Deacon. He was a quiet, humble man. He wore a fascinating watch of visible gears and many dials. When we asked to look at his watch he said: "it's not a watch, it's a aviation chronometer". Then he would explain how he used it to navigate and estimate fuel. Years later I learned he was a multiple Ace and highly decorated. He was also a veteran of the Battle of Britain. Nations who underestimate the British usually don't figure out how they lost until well after the end of the conflict.

@Oke Ihenacho He appears to be one of the 'missiles will always get through' group. Ships are useless to them unless they carry missiles and pretty much only missiles, and anything else is 'easy to sink'. Especially when they (as they usually are) consider the big very long range hypervelocity anti shipping missiles out there these days.
Problem with those people is they are forgetting one important issue with missiles... targeting. You see, the sea is a pretty big place, and a carrier task group in potentially dangerous waters will be sailing at speed (25 knots or greater), and changing course at regular intervals. It can take upwards of half an hour for a missile to reach the area those ships were last reported, but in that time a Carrier Group moving at 25 knots can be anywhere in a circle of sea hundreds of square miles in area, and the longer it takes for the missile to reach the area, the larger the area its seeker systems have to search in order to find its targets.
And this is the problem for the big hypervelocity missiles, you see those things have only EVER been tested against targets moving in straight lines at highly predictable speeds and in perfect conditions. As it is now no one actually knows if those things can actually HIT a rapidly moving and maneuvering target without the benefit of up to date real time targeting data.
And this is the killer, the only way to get that targeting data is via aircraft, which have to enter the CAP and Air Search Radar Envelope of the Task Force, or via submarine which has to be close to surface with its comms mast raised AND transmitting in order to pass the targeting data to the missile. Now, what do you think the chances of survival of either a targeting aircraft, or especially a transmitting submarine are going to be in the attack range of a carrier Task Force?
Without up to date real time targeting data those missiles have to use the search packages they themselves are equipped with, which are nowhere near as capable as either the Russians or Chinese make out, and if they detect the task force too late, and have to maneuver rapidly to reaquire their target, it is unkown whether they have the potential to do so without breaking up.....
That is not to say those missiles are incapable of sinking a ship, they most certainly are, but they are certainly nowhere even close the 100 percent fire and hit ratio that the 'missiles will always get through' crowd like to assume..... Until those systems are actually tested in combat their true capabilities are going to remain unknown, but the likelyhood is their accuracy is going to be less than 20% unless launched from very close range or guided in by a ship, aircraft or submarine.....
And you do not need to try to shoot down amissile that is going to miss.....

      Yep the ‘PK’
      You on HMS Plymouth.
Shipmates in the same type of frigate and nice coincidence, BUT you certainly saw action down south👍👏
Both of us getting a little long in the tooth but hold such good memories of sailing the seas.
