There is no need for me to use a sensor at the bottom because my staircase is not that steep, as soon as I enter the stairs at the bottom the PIR sensor range is so strong that the lights turn ON. If your stair case is long and bending then it’s right to have two sensors.

Try to use a profile that will dissapate the heat depending if you use 12v or 24v and how many lumens and leds are per meter. The more leds per meter means more brightness and more power. Should have stuck it on the piece of trim above facing down so the led strip wouldn't be visible when it's off.
Yes or at least stuck on the wall side facing out so they actually illuminated the stairs instead of just blinding people
L-shaped tile edging would be perfect. Attach the LED strip to the underside of the profile so it shines downwards onto the stairs instead of upwards.
How long are the strips?
Will this light consume same power on every brightness level

How do you do this with a pir on the top and bottom so you never have to touch a switch?
