Hi, matybe you can help me....my bossgt8 won't start up....I see only boxes in screen what can i do? i replace the battery, and i try this reset but wont work. please help
are you using durcells or energizers because if your not then you need to use them because they are made to handel the machine cheap batterys wont work , you can also get a power supply for the board and never use battery's again
iam not a pedal board terchnition and i usualy never end up with gear problems but if the display is dead then you have a problem but whats causing it could be any number of things really. id take it to a rpeair shop and have then look at it to see whats goping on with it , have you checked your power supply to see if its still working that would be my first thing to look at youll need a test beter to check for volatage at the end the plugs into the board dead power supplys can cause stuff not to work thats for sure.

Hey, thinking of trying this. I use this in the 4CM with my Mesa mark V35. Typical high gain amp settings. I’m getting a loud “squelch” with the gain up past 3 o’clock. When I plug directly into my amp cranked no squelch. Plugged back into boss, horrible squelch. I sprayed that detox in the send/return input jacks and my amp. Still does it. Maybe a reset would work? I did get this unit used a few years back. Might be time to give it up. What do you think? 😂 sorry for the ramble here.
yes it can thats why they call it factory restore it wipes everything oupt and sets it back to when it came out of the box other then firmware updates those are permenate
try new cables if that does not work get some deoxit 5 spay some on the cable plug and run it in and out of the jacks and see if that helps also check your amp jack as well
no the gt-8 does not use and can not use batteries how ever the ME-80 can use a power supply ot bartteries but it has alot less options and toys then the Gt-8

i say deoxit it and if that dont fix it then time for a GT-1000 and do the full reset as well

should work fine to reset it unless there is a problem with the board it will reset with out a problem
