  • This this video, we learn how to calculate the Greenwich Hour Angle, abbreviated GHA, on the sight reduction form.
This video is part of a series that teaches celestial navigation using techniques that have been used for centuries. In this course, you will learn some basics needed to find your location using a sextant and elementary math.
This course is free and available to everyone, and should take less than two hours to complete.
The course is hosted by Vanderbilt University at:

+scorpion singh GHA stands for "Greenwich Hour Angle". As celestial bodies move in the sky, there is one Longitude at which the body is directly overhead. The angle from the Greenwich meridian to this longitude is the GHA. LHA, which stands for "Local Hour Angle" is covered in the next video.
