Albert Einstein most famously said “If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself.” Thank you for the great and easy to understand explanation.
Hi Powel, been digging your camshaft videos. I had an old NOS Chrysler 440 motor home cam. I measured cam lobe tapper and I don’t see any. It’s flat. I measured on the lobe and base circle. I measured an old Mopar lifter I have and it looks good, about .0015” taper. I then measure an old purple shaft cam, also seems to be flat, no taper. These are mild I imagine compared to big race cams. Are they just so small the factory didn’t bother with lobe taper? BTW, I have my own TH-cam channel and I’m working up to doing my own camshaft videos. I plan to reference your content. Thanks for the great info.
Simple and effective. Thank you for your time.
Very Welcome!

Ended up figuring out why I wasn’t seeing taper on the cam lobe. Pshew.
