I began working recently as a pipefitter and welder and after seeing this video i am very happy that i got lucky with a nice colleague who taught me those tricks in my first days of working, but still - the process of learning never ends its until you retire hehe. Nice and helpful video !
Nipping the corners on the paper was a new one for me, I'll be using that. Lately a lot of customers have been wanting things made out of pipe or tubing and I'm taking to long so all the tips are welcone
You have produced an outstanding instructional. Well filmed, well described, and lots of detail with no 'holes' in the content. I 'liked' and subscribed. Thank you as i have learned something valuable.
Thank you! You just saved me the price of another tool as well as room in my tool kit! That paper tape marking trick is like making paper dolls when I was a kid.😇
What a great video. Super helpful. It's quick and straight to the point. With no excessive talking. I'm going to save and subscribe to your channel. Keep up the good work. 👍
I am currently moving this type of content, including knot tying videos onto my other channel. I am going to focus that channel on layout, fabrication and construction methods and tips. I hope you’ll check it out. th-cam.com/video/gTLfd4RZuIc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TRS8NcMmrk4eqLSW
Outstanding! Thank you. New welder here and I have to learn howt o do this for my new job. I am not a piepe welder, but we are going to be doing some freelance stuff and I want to stay at thsi company. They will appreciate my due dilligence. I thank you for this teaching so I can have some know-how to feed my family.
Ok you could just skip most of this video and go to 4:03.. put the level on the blade of that straight edge for plumb.. turns it 90 degrees for level and have 4 timing Mark's in 1 min.. you could even rest the end of the straight edge on top of the pipe.. find level useing the blade and mark both ends..

Nothing is!
@@txtoolcrib …thank you Resident Brandon!
Thank you for saving me from hours of headache! Awesome!
Now if that isn't one of the handiest tricks. Thanks.
Which one?
@@txtoolcrib I kind of meant the whole thing as dealing with a pipe. But all of them for sure.
Really clever , just what I was looking for to make a metal curve to create a curve on a wall coping mould . Brilliant demo ,

You’re very welcome, good luck with the job.
You could also use the first method to quarter the pipe. Just mark on the side
Yeah, a lot faster to use the square and level to quarter it than to make and use the tape method.
Really great video . Thank you
Thank you.
How ironic. Lol
Great video but if you use the protractor that goes on the starrett center head with scale you can achieve any angle you want
Awesome tips and great video - thanks!
Or set center finder at the degree you want. "Close enough".😊
Dry wall tape was slick
Now let's see if i can use this trick on a 20ft 2" diameter aluminum pipe. Need to have center-line for a ham radio antenna project. Thanks
Great tips!
Good video
I’ve laid out many a dummy leg with adding machine tape, but drywall tape would work so much better.
Thank You!!
Outstanding!
Use a small magnet to hold the paper tape in place at the seam. Bigger pipes it gets hard to transfer the marks while holding the ends together.
Excellent idea
Yes thank you!
Cool tip 👍😎
Thank you.
Really useful video thanks sir 🤙❤️

Nice product
good job...thank's
*Bonus Tip*
1.Tac weld the angle iron on to the pipe
2. use it as a guide
3. now make straight, length wise, cuts.
Perfect 👌
good job....
Very good technique, simple and accurate.
If you don’t have any crack tape you could just mark the plate.
Nice 👍
Hope you find them helpful.
nice
